Rose's POV
It was hard for me to believe that Jess, my best friend, Jessica is an heir to Italian mafia. Yes, I've always swooned over mafia characters in fictional characters but now that I am somehow connected to mafia of real life, I didn't know what I was to feel.
Then there are these three monsters, who torture us, day after day. But on the bright side, Tyler makes food for us by the time we are done training. He is stronger so he runs fewer miles and has got a duty to make food for all of us. Who could have thought he could be such an amazing cook?
I got into bed after going through the usual routine of washing my face, brushing my teeth and so on. I closed my eyes but couldn't fall asleep as Layla was wide awake, pacing around in excitement.
I've told her countless times to stop pacing around and let me sleep but she didn't listen which made me annoyed and sit up straight. Before I could say anything, the window of my room flew open and a dazzling ray of light fell inside my room.
When I opened my eyes, a half-naked giant stood in front of me, making me scream. However, the ear-piercing sound didn't come out and I tested my voice to which I couldn't hear a thing.
"Get out!" I stared at the giant with horror as he commanded. Then a figure popped out of my head which made me frown deeper and scrunch my head in confusion and fear. What in the actual freak-?
That's when I saw a man with tones muscles wrapped around silky clothes who had the face of a Greek-God. No words could describe how amazing, perfectly handsome he was. On the other hand, the woman who stood next to him was just as dazzling and stunning. They were the perfect examples of gods and goddesses.
Then, both of them ignored me as if I didn't exist and talked about something that i couldn't understand at all. They were clearly speaking English but I couldn't understand what they were talking about. I then told myself I was either dreaming or hallucinating from lack of energy after the physical torture.
Despite the two of them arguing and talking about some alien stuff, I got inside the blanket to have a peaceful night. But as soon as I closed my eyes, I jolted awake as someone shook the hell out of me and made me stand on my feet.
I stared at the beautiful brunette, smiling at me and I stared at both of them with confused eyes. What do they fucking want? They can go back and discuss about the topic for all I care, can they just let me have my beauty sleep?
"NO. Now, let's get to the point. He-" The woman replied as if she could read my mind and pointed at the man with her fingers.
"He is the one I've told you about. The one who will teach you to learn to control natural elements and stuff. As much as I would love to nag him for not finding me sooner but now that he is here, we can get started.
" This time, I shook my head and desperately asked myself to wake up from this dream because it felt so real and I felt like I was going crazy at how things unfolded.
"Oh, my bad. Hey, I am Layla. This is my true form. This is how I looked before my soul merged with yours. You couldn't possibly have thought that the wolf in your head had always been my true form, have you?"
I let out a nervous laugh in the end but I still haven't recovered from the shock. Did she say she is who I think she is? Did she Freaking say that she is Layla? The wolf who has been in my head all along?
Then, I looked and searched inside my brain to look for Layla when I couldn't find anyone but an empty place where she usually sat. There were no other places in my mind she could go to.
So, is whatever that goddess said true? UGH! I pulled at my hair as things got too complicated for my liking and understanding.
"Whyyyy?" I pouted and gave puppy eyes at Layla, trying my best to coax her into making her bestie my boyfriend but to no avail.
"Fine." I grumbled under my breath when I accepted the fact that I could only listen and follow Layla at this point.
"Perfect! Let's get started!" I could hear excitement in her voice and I tried to dismiss the fact that it would be the only time I will be seeing this handsome man.
"Sit crossed legged on the bed facing each other." I did as Layla instructed and as soon as Cameron sat on my bed, a few inches away from me, my breath caught in my throat as I realized the man's beauty.
Cameron then closed his eyes and golden light started to surround him which made me back up a little bit but stopped when Layla whispered in my head not to move an inch. A pair of small blue and red mist-like fog appeared on each palm of Cameron and I resisted the urge to poke them with my fingers.
Cameron then raised his hands and moved it closer to me, the fog getting larger and larger, scaring me but I was soon calmed down by the soothing voice of Layla. I closed my eyes as Layla told me to and in an instant, I could feel something familiar running through my veins that had never been there before.
Even though I've never felt this feeling before, it was very familiar and I started to crave more, trying to figure out why I am so familiar with the new sort of power running through my veins. I could hear some panicked whisper but I chose to ignore it.
Not sure how long had passed, I decided to open my eyes. The room was pitch dark and I figured it was very late at night. Probably 2 or 3 am in the morning. I am supposed to be sleeping right now as I've training early in the morning but it seems like there are more things I will have to deal with before going back to bed.
I opened my eyes and infront of me sat Layla and Cameron with their mouths agape. I brought both of my hands under their chins and closed them up. I then asked them what got them surprised as if they'd seen a ghost.
I waited for their response but Cameron stood up from the bed, startling me and started to talk to Layla in a language I didn't understand. My curiosity was eating me alive but I decided to count to 100 to calm my nerves and hormones.
Soon, Cameron disappeared into the thin air, not leaving a trace that he had been here for the past few hours. When he was gone, I walked towards Layla in an attempt to drag her to bed and bombard her with questions when my body slipped through the figure infront of me, scaring the freak out of me because it felt like the figure was a ghost of some sort.
