Jessica's POV
I couldn't believe my ears at the familiarity of the voice who called out to me. Out of curiosity, I took a few steps forward unconsciously which was soon stopped by Harry blocking my path and glaring at me.
"OMG! IT REALLY IS YOU!" I could see Rose throw something to the one standing next to her and her act was ignored as I couldn't help but smile ear to ear at seeing my best friend running towards me.
Due to the shock, I was as still as a freaking rock, so I stood on the ground, getting ready to accept her tight embrace.The hug was tighter than what I've expected because I've literally heard some of my bones crack but it was the least of my concern right now.
As we parted, both of us were jumping up and down like rabbits, grinning ear to ear and bombarded each other with questions which made us a whole laughing and crazy mess. It took us a lot of time for us to calm down and even after we did, we couldn't help ourselves from asking each other questions and hugging each other all over again.
"I still can't believe you're standing in front of me right now." Rose spoke breathlessly and I nodded my head in agreement.
"I know right! You are the least person I've expected to see in this isolated forest. Talking about the forest, what brought you here?"
The question seemed to catch Rose off-guard as she stiffened and looked around nervously. It's obvious she doesn't wanna talk about it and want it to be kept a secret. Since it's what she wants, I am not going to push around. I will wait for her to open up to me. As I was about the change the topic, Rose asked me the question which I didn't know what to answer either.
"Well, there is no reason. We just decided to travel around. So what about you? What brought you here? Who are they?" She looked behind me where Harry and Xaiver were stood.
I sighed and decided I don't want to keep it a secret because I trust her and it won't do harm in telling her, right? I mean it's not like it's top secret that can't be known by people. At some point, secrets are to be revealed, so what's the point of hiding it when they're bound to be found out? And I believe Rose would respect my decision when I ask her to keep it a secret.
"Well, it's a long story. I will explain it to you guys later. But for now, allow me to introduce these guys to you." I turned around dramatically and stretched out both of my arms, pointing at two bulky men who had their guards up against Rose.
"This is Harry and Xavier; the supposed to be my bodyguard and mentor. Harry, Xavier, this is Rosalind or Rose for short. My best friend." Rose had confusion all over her face and I shrugged it off.
I then noticed the very person standing behind Rose, Tyler Reinhart! I ran towards him and hugged him as soon as I recognized him. Tyler fell to the ground from the effect and I could hear Rose's laughter behind us.
Tyler laughed beneath me too and I stared at him as if I couldn't believe he was Tyler. I was soon lifted above the ground and I looked at Rose. She just shrugged and said; "Long story."
"Looks like we have a lot of explanation to do." "I guess so." "Follow me." I told them as I motioned Harry and Xavier to lead the way because I have no idea which is the way back home.
"Where are we going?" Rose asked and I told her a bit about how I happened to end up in this situation. I could tell that Harry and Xaiver wasn't fond of the fact that I was spilling to tea to Rose and Tyler but I didn't give two fucks about them because those rude assholes just don't have to right to judge.
Call me rude but they have to fix their attitudes with me first. We've been gossiping through our way back home and the three of us couldn't hide our shock at how our lives took different turns in a few months.
Now I understand why elders have always quoted that "Life is full of surprises." cause it sure is and I guess it's what makes life beautiful despite the miseries and hardships we go through. So, we talked and updated each other on the news we've missed.
I was the first one to tell her about my foster, real parents, uncle, aunt and niece. I loved how Rose had been jumping around the room like a rabbit in Tyler's arms. The whole day wasn't enough to tell her what had happened while she was away.
I was almost done ranting and explaining about my life a few minutes before dinner and we decided we would have sleep over and let Rose tell the story for the rest of the day. During the talk, I realized that we were put in somewhat similar situations and we jumped around the whole place when our mentors and trainers told us that we can have a day off.
When Rose told me about the life and the world that I've always thought have been myth and fictional world, I couldn't help myself but be paranoid that my bestie has gone crazy from reading too much Wattpad.
But in the end, I believed my best friend and accepted the fact that she is the future queen of werewolves. It took a few hours for me to admit the fact and process it because I've always been a slow kid, but I felt happy for Rose that she found the place she actually belongs to.
It's quite ironic that both of us were led to our original place, where we belong right after graduation. Both of our life stories were just as messed up but there were too many surprises along the way; good and bad.
When morning came, we were tired of talking and it was almost painful to keep talking and keep our eyes open which led us to sweet slumber. Meeting Rose was the best thing that has ever happened to me so I can't be happier that I've come to meet her and get the opportunity to train with her in this isolated forest in the future.
