Jessica's POV
"All of you must come to my funeral because I would be making your life a miserable afterlife." I said, out of breath, pointing at everyone standing in front of me.
Tyler and Rose were running with me for the past two hours and I felt like digging my graves and taking the time of my life. Rose and I were breathless and we sat on a tree trunk to catch our breath. Tyler wasn't fazed by the running which made him run for another four more hours.
"Just a funeral, no big deal." Harry said with a shrug in which he earned a death glare from me. "Can we call it a day please?" I gave Xavier and Harry my puppy doe eyes but I was just ignored.
Rose's mentor would be teaching us in the afternoons and it was Xavier and Harry's duty to look after us in the mornings, finish the warm up and some basic things needed to fight.
"Can you go easy on us?" Rose asked politely and Xavier sighed. "No and it's final. Jess was supposed to run for three hours the other day but she got away from it because she met you that day. I think it would be fair if she ran two more hours including the hours, she missed the other day."
I groaned and sprawled on the ground as Xaiver said it. Is he even human? Can't he see we've reached our climax and limit? That we can't just keep on running?! UGH! I left earlier, big deal. I rolled my eyes even though they were closed.
"Aw, poor Jess." Rose knelt down for me and I opened my eyes.
"You'll be running with her too." She whipped her head around, staring at Xavier with a frown and wide eyes.
"ME?" Rose pointed her fingers at herself and asked him, finding his command totally ridiculous.
"Yes, you. Even though I don't get paid for this, it's my duty to train ya'll so you have to obey me. You seem much more fit and have better stamina for Jess so you have to run with her for two more hours." Both of us groaned and Rose lied on top of me and started to snore, pretending to be asleep.
"Childish. If you don't get up and start running, both of you will be getting whiplashes." As soon as Harry said it, both of us were on our feet and stared at Harry with a whip in his hands.
"No worries. Just two hours of running. We will accomplish it." both of us yelled over our shoulders as we took off running. On the way, we kept on complaining about stupid trainers.
"Oh my god! I am so hungry!" "Me too." Rose and I dragged our feet inside after our training was over. But then, I could smell something that made my mouth water.
"FOOD!" Both of us yelled and ran towards the kitchen as we realized someone was already done cooking and waiting for us inside. The table was already decorated with several delicious-looking dishes and both of us sat down on our seats, digging in and filling our empty stomachs.
I couldn't stop the moan that escaped my lips as I bite down a spoonful of lasagna. "Wow. It's so delicious."
Without giving myself a break, I took a spoon of roast potatoes which hit differently at how amazing it tasted. Rose was nodding her head at me as she was chewing on her food and by the look of her face, I could tell she was enjoying her food too.
"I fucking know right! OMG!" She dug in and both of us helped ourselves fill our stomachs as if we'd been starving for a month. By the time both of us were done, there was nothing left on the table other than cutlery.
We leaned on our chairs, tapping our tummies as we told each other how delicious the food was and how full we were.
"People might think they've been on hunger strike or something." I raised my head to look at Harry who had his mouth wide open, hitting the floor. Xavier was nowhere to be seen and Tyler stood there with Harry, wearing a cute apron.
"OH.MY.WORD! Did you cook all of those?" Rose stood up from her seat and walked over to the island where they stood. Rose shook Tyler and yelled at her lungs.
"Why didn't you tell me you could cook?! Had I known, I would have asked you to cook every day! Why didn't you make those sooner?!" "Stop! Stop! You're making me dizzy." Tyler stood to his ground despite the fact that Rose was shaking him hard.
Rose leaned on the counter and pouted as she looked up at him. Right then and there, I saw Tyler's eyes soften for a second which disappeared as if it was never there. I don't think anyone had noticed but I did and I couldn't believe my eyes.
Did he? Wait, what? Did he really? Then they talked about stuff I didn't know and I took that as my queue to walk away. I have a feeling I am soon going to be the third wheel between them. I sighed and walked back to my room.
Am I going to lose my best friend too? Ugh! If I can't stop them, I better let that fucking shit of an asshole know that it won't be that easy to win her heart. But what if I lose and she ends up hating me for being the third wheel? Millions of thoughts were racing through my mind as I imagined my life with my bestie running away with her new boyfriend.
