Chapter 17 - Meeting Lyra Again

"You... what do you want?" Landria voiced out as they arrived in front of him.

"Big brother Landria... you already met Lyra?" Viktor asked with a confused expression as he noticed Landria's tone laced with familiarity.

It was a 5'3 tall girl with long red hair mixed with a hint of blue and silver. She had a slim figure, with well-defined busts for a teenager who looked to be around fourteen to fifteen years of age.

She was very beautiful despite the ash-colored garment she was clad in.

This was the same girl Landria met close to three weeks ago upon his return from the Bell Tower.

"I came looking for you..." Lyra voiced in response.

"I'm glad I'm not being stalked again at the very least," Landria stated before proceeding to keep marching forward with the mammoth-sized creature on his shoulders.

"You still..." Lyra's face displayed a slightly embarrassed expression as she turned around to stare at Landria who was walking away.

"...Hold on," She yelled and ran to stand in front of him.

"Get out of my way," Landria stated and turned to the side to walk away.

She ran in front of him once more blocking his path.

"I came to see you, at least hear what I have to say. Why be so mean?" Lyra said with a slightly annoyed look.

"Maybe I don't like getting stalked... especially by someone who is rude and acts like what they did wasn't in any way wrong," Landria stated before turning to the side and walking away once more.

Lyra's face twitched repeatedly, 'Did he just call me rude?' She thought.

"You're the rude one. This is how you treat a lady?" Lyra shouted out and kicked the dirt up before running after Landria again and standing in his front.

"Do not call yourself a lady, you are very far from it... It would be degrading to even the animals if you decided to pass yourself up as a pig," Landria blurted out unhesitatingly as he moved to the side once more.

"You... you... you're the animal!" Lyra's hands trembled in anger as she pointed at him and moved to the side to block his path once again.

"See what I'm talking about? Rude," Landria said as he moved to the left.

Lyra also moved to the left with him, blocking his path for the umpteenth time. He moved to the right and she performed the same action.

"Get out of my way," He stated with a strong tone of warning.

"Not until you listen to what I have to say first," Lyra responded with a determined look as they both stared at each other intensely.

'What's with this drama between both of them?' Viktor and Mara watched from the sides with looks of confusion.

They initially had no idea Lyra and Landria already met. From the looks of things, their first meeting didn't go well.

After repeatedly getting in each other's way Landria stopped moving around. He initially had something in mind but he felt it would be too harsh to do such a situation.

"What do you want?" Landria asked with a slightly frustrated expression.

"I want you to teach me magic," Lyra straightforwardly responded.

"No!" Landria said and moved to the side and she proceeded to once more step in front of him.

"Why?" Lyra asked.

"Because I don't want to," Landria responded and moved to the side once more.

She stepped in front of him again and their initial actions began to repeat themselves.

"Please," Lyra begged.

"No," Landria declined.

"Please,"

"No,"

"Please teach me,"

"I don't want to,"

Viktor and Mara's eyes kept darting around as they watched these two moves from side to side like they were performing a choreography.

"Alright enough with this," Landria voiced out and leaped upwards.

Fwhhiii~

He jumped directly over Lyra's head and landed a few feet ahead.

"Wind Wings," He voiced out while activating a magic spell.

Fwwwhioommm~

Concentrated wind blew across the place and two small wings made of wind appeared by the sides of his feet.

"Bye,"

The instant he voiced this out, he ran forward with speed, disappearing into the distance in a manner of seconds.

Lyra gritted her teeth and stared at the direction he disappeared in with a look of annoyance.

"Your big brother is annoying," She voiced out before stomping off.

"Lyra," Mara voiced out but Lyra had already left a lot of distance between them in a few seconds as she walked away in annoyance.

Mara stared at Viktor who shrugged with a look of confusion on his face as well.

"What just happened?"

"Turns out big brother Landria doesn't like her,"

"Well he doesn't associate with anyone else in town even though some of them try to befriend him but this was too much,"

"I agree,"

Viktor and Mara discussed what had just happened with each other as they climbed down the sloppy path that led from the outskirts of Velves forest to their home.

Mild winds blew leaves across the place as the sun slowly began to set from their west view in the sky giving the atmosphere a peaceful and natural vibe.

--

"Another good one, young chap,"

in front of a stall where beast skins could be seen on display as well as claws and teeth, a dark-skinned bald man voiced out as he handed a pouch to Landria.

Landria nodded in satisfaction after checking the contents of the pouch and proceeded to strap it to his leather pants.

"You don't take any day off do you?" Old man Croan voiced out with a look of astonishment.

"I don't need to," Landria responded.

"Not that I'm complaining. I make a lot of money because of the creatures you sell to me so I don't mind but how is it that a young chap such as yourself doesn't have a hunting party and manages to hunt strong magical beasts every single day without getting worn out?" Old man Croan stated with an intrigued look.

"Strong..? It is not so difficult as it is within my capacity to hunt magical beasts with this level of strength. They are not as strong as you think they are," Landria felt it was laughable calling magical beasts of this level strong.

He recalled feats his father had performed and knew all this didn't come anywhere close to them.

Destroying a magical seven-headed dragon beast with six wings which according to legend had wiped out six cities in one night along with all of the natives, leaving none alive...

Slaying a hundred-thousand demonic horde of flying basilisks sent to the raze down the palace when the Razledania Kingdom was at war with another kingdom...

Going toe to toe with a Mythical creature and defeating it during his journey to a hidden kingdom of time hacking giants.

Whenever Landria recalled his father's feats, he knew, he still had a long journey ahead of him.

"Oh, you don't consider them strong then. Interesting, you truly seem like a capable young lad to me," Old man Croan said with a light smile before turning around to head into his stall.

"Wait here," He voiced out before Landria could take this as an initiative to leave.

Landria had a slightly suspicious look on his face wondering what the man was up to. Since Laura had brought him here for the first time, he had been coming here himself to sell all the beasts he hunted to old man Croan.

He had never sold to another person and came here daily which was why he felt old man Croan was asking such questions.

Normal people were usually unable to do this after all.

A few seconds later, old man Croan came out with a pamphlet in his grasp and passed it to Landria.

"What is this?" Landria asked as he received it.

"Go on check it out," Old man Croan said.

"Five hundred gold pieces along with a free access to check the city's treasury and pick one desired item..." Landria read out the information on the pamphlet.

"...If one can bring the life infant of a Peglinq magical creature to the sixteenth birthday of Lord Varoni's second daughter, regardless of the gender, they shall receive the rewards mentioned above," Landria paused after he finished reading this out and raised his head to stare at old man Croan.

"The Sixteenth birthday of young Miss Shirila, the second daughter of Lord Varoni is coming up in a few weeks and she has mentioned to her father that she wishes to have a Peqling magical creature as a pet. Seeing as you are a magic beast hunter, I felt this information might be useful to you," Old man Croan stated.
