'Even if I don't hunt them, others will and they most likely wouldn't show any mercy doing so,'
Landria was starting to get self-conscious of the fact that, his choosing to stay out of certain situations would not necessarily make it better.
"I'll do some research today when I visit Barbaois city," Landria said before standing to his feet.
He had already decided he was going to check Barbaois city today after selling whatever magical beast he hunted today.
He picked the wooden bow and quiver holding a bunch of arrows.
"I should get better ones," Landria thought out loud as he stared at the wooden bow and arrows.
He had been using this bow since he started hunting and it wasn't very great since they were only improvising when they made it.
He could see small cracks on the wooden bow in different spots which depicted that it wouldn't be able to hold on for long.
Landria had mostly been using low-level spells whenever he pulled the bowstring because he didn't want it to get destroyed. However, regardless of that, the durability of the bow had lessened by a whole lot.
Landria already knew places in town to check for weapons so he decided he would get a new bow and maybe a couple of stronger arrows after he was done checking Barbaois City out.
He felt he might even be able to go for more powerful magical beasts if he got stronger weapons since his magic would be more efficient.
He proceeded to move out of the house after greeting everyone good morning and munching a small breakfast.
-
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Sounds of blasts reverberated across the place as a beast charged forward, slamming through several small trees with the two ax-like horns in front of its face.
Landria somersaulted in mid-air as he leaped from tree to tree dodging this creature.
There were flaming arrows lodged in different parts of this creature's body which prove that Landria had already managed to land hits on it. But it seemed this creature seemed unaffected by the burning injuries and kept thrashing around the place tenaciously.
Wing made of winds appeared on the sides of Landria's feet as he leaped towards a big tree up ahead.
Bang!
The Creature which was similar to the size of two elephants, blasted through the tree Landria was standing on earlier and continued charging forward at the one Landria was currently standing on.
Bang!
The moment it slammed into it, both its ax-like horns got stuck in the tree, causing it to be trapped in place. Unlike the other smaller trees in the vicinity, this one was quite large so it couldn't smash through it in one hit.
Making use of this opportunity, Landria reached for an arrow in his quiver and shot out several more flaming arrows at the creature's body.
Instead of a painful shriek, a loud rageful shriek was heard from the creature as it tried to pull its horns out of the tree that had trapped it in place.
Landria tried to reach for his back to get more arrows while still standing on one of the tree branches but then he realized that he didn't have any more arrows to spare.
All the twelve wooden arrows were lodged deep in different parts of the creature's body yet it was still very much alive and kicking.
Thwwwiiiii~
The blade-like tail of the creature suddenly shot towards Landria while he was distracted.
Landria tried moving as quickly as he could towards the side by the tail brushed by his left where he happened to be holding onto the bow.
Crack!
The bow broke into two halves as a six inches long cut appeared above Landria's left shoulder.
"Ugh," Landria grimaced in pain as the tail kept stabbing across the air past him after he managed to move to the side.
Zwwiishh~
The tail which looked similar to a black belt with sharp edges and pointed tip, curved when it reached a particular distance and began stabbing towards Landria again from behind.
Thwii~
Landria jumped forward at this point, landing on the ground below, right behind the creature.
Reaching towards his left waist area, he pulled out the dagger his father gave him from the sheath.
Trrriiiinnnn~
The dagger glowed up with runic patterns all over the blade while the tail of the creature which was still stuck in the tree came stabbing down towards Landria with intensity.
However, before it arrived...
Slash!
Landria swung the blade towards the bottom part of the creature's tail where it was attached to its rear.
Black blood squirted out like a fountain as the creature's tail was cleanly sliced off.
"Krrrrrehhhhhhh!!!~"
The creature screeched in pain this time as it thrashed around violently trying to free its horns from being trapped in the tree.
Landria had already jumped three steps backward to avoid the squirting black blood of the creature which was corrosive.
His eyes darted towards the tree area in front where the creature's horns were trapped and he observed the cracks that had spread from the trunk area to the bottom.
"Muscle Enhancement level two," A bright light burst forth from his figure as the mana in the environment gathered around him.
In the next instant, he had turned bulkier and muscular.
Dashing forward with the dagger in his grasp, Landria leaped upwards and landed directly on the body of the creature the moment it managed to blast through the large tree, causing it to crash down.
The creature began thrashing about the place the moment it got free, trying to get Landria off its body.
Landria held onto its neck area and pushed himself up the body of the creature.
"I can see it now," Landria voiced out as he raised his dagger and stabbed it down with intensity.
Scrruuhhhh~
Flesh piercing sounds rang out as Landria's dagger stabbed through the left eye of the creature, tearing through all the tissues and lodging itself within a part of its brain.
The creature screeched for the last time and fell to the ground amidst its thrashing about the place.
Due to the sudden stop, Landria was flung off the creature's body.
He spun repeatedly in mid-air, before landing on his feet a few meters ahead.
Landria turned around and began walking towards the creature's corpse.
All this time, the massive ax-like horns had been covering the creature's eyes so Landria couldn't get a clean shot which was why he had to shoot all the arrows at its body.
"This creature should fetch a good sum," Landria thought out loud as he scanned across the body features of the creature.
He especially felt this way since the creature had a lot of stamina and was still able to move like it was uninjured even after getting shot several. The internal organs of such creatures were always very valuable.
Landria pulled out his dagger and proceeded to carry the creature on his shoulders.

"I still haven't gotten all the items on the list which is why I need to visit Barbaois City today," Landria said to old man Croan after selling the creature he caught today to him.
"Oh I see, do you need a guide then?" old man Croan asked while ruffling his beard.
"A guide?" Landria questioned.
"You've never been to Barbaois City before or have you?" Old man Croan asked, to which Landria replied by shaking his head.
"I thought as much. Barbaois City is at least seventeen times larger than our town. It wouldn't be wise to visit there without a guide especially when you're looking for specific items," Old man Croan explained.
'Seventeen times larger makes it pretty massive... Although Razledania kingdom would be at least seventy times larger, I know every nook and cranny of that place whereas I've never been here before,' Landria realized it would be better for him to have a guide or he might just waste time wandering around the city.
"How do I get a guide then?" Landria questioned with an inquisitive expression.
