Chapter 11 - Sunday, funday

Sundays. My least favourite day of the week. Even Mondays were better.

The reason I disliked the day was because it was the day before the dreaded Monday. This meant that most chores would be done on this day. Laundry, big weekly cleanings, etc.

Even now, as I was thinking about all the reasons Sundays were the worst, I was scrubbing away the tub.

Luckily, this was my last task before I could start selling chocolates again.

It was already 2 pm. Other than getting my bank card and depositing my $100, I have been cleaning the whole day.

Finally, after ten minutes of scrubbing, I got up and stretched my back while looking at the sparkling tub.

There were still things to clean, but I already finished the tasks my parents gave me. So, not wanting to be dragged into anymore 'tasks', I rushed to my bag and went to the kitchen.

I grabbed the chocolate box and put it in my bag before leaving my home.

"Bye."

Not wasting anytime, I bolted through the door and ran down the stairs.

Since I was only on the second floor, leaving the building was quick.

As fast as I could, I ran to the train station.

I found a neighborhood yesterday that was even closer to where I usually go. Also, the houses there were massive.

The train ride only lasted fifteen minutes.

I left the train station and walked a couple more minutes before getting to the neighborhood. 'Time to rip off rich people again.'

I walked up to the first house on the street and knocked on the door. When they opened it, I put the poor woman under my hypnosis and scammed her.

Like that I spent next two hours going door to door, selling chocolates.

'This place is better than. The other ones.'

In only two hours I made $210. That's 21 bars sold in two hours. A new personal record.

As I was about to knock on the door of the next house, my phone rang.

The caller was Ivan.

Curious, I answered the phone and stepped off the porch of the house.

"Hello. What's up Ivan?"

"[Meet us at the arcade at xxxx street. The girls from last time are here as well. That girl Alessia was looking for you.]"

'Should I go? I could probably sell at least another fifteen before I need to go back home.'

Should I hold off on making at least another $150 and join my friends? Or should I continue making bank?

A hard choice.

"I don't know, man. I'm kinda busy."

"[Wh-]"

Ivan was cut off when I heard a familiar voice.

"[Damian. If you come, we'll buy you food.]"

"I guess I can go. Give me thirty minutes."

Alessia sure knew how to bargain. I was out for a while, so I was getting hungry. 'Why not get a free meal?'

I put the box of chocolates back in my bag and made my way to the arcade.

It took me twenty-five minutes to get there. During that time, I was planning on how I could get a place to hold my fight club. The plan I came up with involved me having to sneak the fighters and I, into an abandoned warehouse.

Once I got to the arcade, I walked in and was greeted by Alessia and the others.

"Let's play something. We can eat later."

""Sure.""

We all agreed to Aveshs' plan.

Our group then split up. Ten people surrounding a game isn't ideal. After all, there's plenty of other people in the arcade. It would be rude to take up so much space for one game.

Like last time, everyone split in twos. And I was with Alessia again.

"Where do you wanna go first?"

"Basketball?"

I nodded, and the two of us made our way to the basketball nets. Before I arrived, the group had already bought tokens. So, luckily, we could jump right into the games.

The two of us put the tokens into the slots and started shooting the basketballs.

Unfortunately, I found I was horrible. Alessia beat me 25-18.

"You're ass at this."

"Let's go to the car racing games next."

'Let's see who'll be laughing after I'm done with you.'

After getting to the car racing station, I, true to my word, destroyed her with ease.

"You're pretty ass at this game."

I repeated the words she said. Alessia clearly looked a little pissed, so we went to another station of her choice.

Eventually, by the time we were finished playing at the arcade, the score was 3-2. I, unfortunately, lost twice, but I still won.

'It's like taking candy from a baby. Too easy.'

Our group then met up at the entrance. "Let's eat. There's a burger place near here."

We then followed Danny, who said he knew a burger place.

—-

At the burger place, I was sitting down facing Alessia.

Stuffing my face in joy. Alessia watched and sighed.

"You really made me pay."

I swallowed the food and spoke, "you offered."

"I guess you're right. Anyway, how's your business going?"

"It's going good. I've made a good amount of money."

"What are you saving up for?"

I ate a fry and answered. "You know the usual. Clothes, food, and I wanna start saving up."

"Maybe I should get a job as well."

"If you can, do it."

The two of us then went back to eating. We had some brief conversations here and there, but our time was mostly focused on the food.

At one point, I even looked around me and saw everyone in our group getting along. Some were flirting, others laughing, and somewhere just eating and talking.

Before we knew it, it had gotten dark.

We all decided to stop our fun and head home. Avesh, Sofia, Danny, and Samantha took a cab home, while everyone else went by train.

Since it was dark, and I was closest to Alessia from the guys, I walked her home.

At her stop, the two of us got up and made our way towards her house.

"It was fun today."

Samantha said as we stepped onto her porch.

"Yeah, it was fun."

"I hope we can do something like this again soon. Maybe just us two."

She made the first move. I baffled at how courage's she was.

However, I didn't know what to say. It was like time stopped for me as I tried thinking about a good excuse. I couldn't just say, 'yeah I can't. I'm mentally in my thirties. Dating a kid like you would be weird.'

"Sure. We can do something sometime."

That was the best I could come up with on such a short notice.

With a smile, she whipped her blonde hair as she turned to face the door. Walking inside her home, she waved goodbye.

I was left worried about the future as I walked home.
