"Can I get a map at least? I just want to know where the hell I am?" as soon as Milles finished his complaint, a map appeared on his phone.
He recognized the area he was in and Miles instantly felt a groan build up in his throat.
Of all the places he could have ended up in, it had to be this one? Had he not gotten in trouble because of this place once already? Not to mention, an alert must have been issued already because of the breach in security over this area.
"Can you do something to stop the signal broadcast? I can't deal with this right now" Milles asked.
He was in the restricted area near the academy grounds which spelled trouble for him. He knew this area was heavily patrolled from experience and getting caught inside the area would not turn out so well for him.
[Understood. Deleting location information for user #Nfyka988. Would Professor Milles also like to delete location information for user Misha Raycraft?]
Milles felt himself sweat at the question.
This was turning out to be an even bigger problem than Milles had initially thought it of being.
He had gotten so used to using the new, unregulated phone he had that he had forgotten all about his original phone and receptor.
And unlike user #Nfyka988, Misha Raycraft could not disappear without any reason whatsoever. It would alarm so many people if he did.
"Leave it be. I will think of something else. Hopefully, they would chalk it up to an accident this time as well" Milles had a lot of witnesses this time and it helped his case as well.
But this was an opportunity as well. One he could not miss up on.
Milles had been wanting to check this area out in the future but this was a good time as any to scout this place out.
He had tried to look into this place with the help of the neural system but his connection had not been good enough to make it past the firewall. Milles was a genius but he was no god.
However, now that he had a way inside the restricted area, he might as well check it all out.
"System, keep an eye out for any escorts out for me. Run interference with them and keep them away from me" since Milles's body was not used to magic, he could not rely on himself to do those tasks.
[Understood Professor]
But there was no need for Milles to worry about it all when he had the neural system on his side. He had programmed it darn well and it was a huge advantage Milles had.
The map was crystal clear about the routes one needed to take to get out of this restricted area and Milles started to walk opposite it.
It was time to see what secrets this area hid and Milled found his blood pumping.
There was so much he could find here. No such areas had excited in Milles's previous life which indicated that this was a development made after he had cast his reincarnation magic.
The lack of information was a big bummer but it attracted Milles like a fly to light. He had to know more about it, had to sate his curiosity.
So he started walking deeper into the forest and followed along the path.
[Warning: Absence of Professor's presence has been noted and a search signal has been issued. Should the neural system block this signal?]
Milles had to think about it for a few moments but ultimately decided against it. It would be more suspicious if he completely disappeared.
"No. Let them find my signal but bounce it in the area a few times. Make them confused about my location and mark it up as me being a Type Null. Make changes in the database to make this lie believable" Milles had thought it over a few times but him being a Type Null was a huge advantage for him.
He had checked out the database and available information about Type Null as well. Magic reacted weirdly to them and often caused mis happenings. It was not that difficult to make everyone believe that this result was also because of him being a Type Null.
[Understood]
With the neural system at work, Milles was ready to go and find out the truth. There was a risk here as well but Milles was willing to take it.

"Has the test already started for this year's batch? I thought I should check because you can be rather difficult Emma" the young teacher looked up with a raised eyebrow as the principal made his way into her class.
It was the same every year, with him barging in here and lecturing her and she was tired of it all. She was tired of him interfering with her plans all the time.
It was regretful that she had no other choice but to stay at her post and keep an eye on this old man. Secretary Sha and the president had suspicions about him and his motivation and Emma could see why.
The old man was crafty and ran this academy with an iron fist. It might not look like it at first with his easy-going attitude, but he was a shrewd man capable of getting his hands dirty when he wanted to.
"It just started. The older years have started to move already while the first-timers are having a hard time adjusting. It would weed out those unsuitable for this course" this course was not like a normal course after all.
This course had been proposed by the military department to start training special operatives early. Almost everyone who completed this course was picked up by the military with a special excuse.
But the course was tough as well and could be often unpredictable.
That was why Emma had been chosen as the one to take over this post. She was a high-ranking Magic cop and had plenty of experience with these kinds of things.
"I see. So, what do you think of the year's crop? Are there any jewels in this?" the principal asked and Emma ignored his easy-going tone.
"It's only the first day and their first time doing this. They just need to survive long enough for the older years to pick them up. If they come back then they can stay in this course" many students would leave this course after a shock like this.
This would weed out the weak-willed students from the first year and leave only those who had determination.
There were a lot fewer upper years than there were first years so it would take some time for them to gather all the students.
"That is good to know" Emma waited for the older man to say something more but it was clear that he was done talking.
The class was nearing its half-an-hour mark and it was about time Emma should check up on the students. The older years must be done collecting all the first years as well.
"Going to check up on your students? Mind if I come with you as well? I have a student I want to check up on as well" Emma felt her eyes narrow at the principal's words.
A student? Had he taken interest in someone from the first year? She felt bad for the poor kid, holding this old man's attention but she also felt curious.
"A prodigy? I was not aware we had one this year" it always made news when a prodigy was discovered and there were only handfuls of them. The last one she had known about was in the third year as well.
"No, not a prodigy. Just a Type Null. You know, Mr. Raycraft's adopted son? He was in your class as well" Emma almost swore at those words.
A Type Null in her class and she had not been informed at all? Everyone knew magic and Type Nulls did not mesh well. Not only could they not cast magic properly, but magic behaved weirdly around them as well.
"There was a Type Null in my class and you failed to inform me? What if something happens to him or someone else because of his presence?" Emma tried to tell herself that it was not the kid's fault but the principal's.
But it is difficult. Type Nulls were always trouble and she had a bias against anything troublesome.
"I'm sure he's alright and your elder students must have found him" the principal consoled but his smile was hollow and mischievous. Emma had a bad feeling about it.
And it did come true once they reached the gathering.
"Miss Emma, we're sorry but we cannot track Misha Raycraft at all. We did send an emergency signal as you instructed though" Simon, fifth-year class representative bowed down to her in apology.
"Well, looks like we have an emergency in at our hands. It's best if I take over from here Miss Emma" the principal spoke in a consoling tone which made Emma irritated.
Why was the other still here? He never stayed this long.
And his small smile spelled trouble and it suddenly struck her - this all had been planned since the start and she had been made the scapegoat for the principal's plan.
Darn him and his crafty ways.
Suddenly, Emma missed Xion, the fourth-year prefect who was out now. If she had been here then this mess would not have happened at all.
When was that idiot coming back again? Emma missed her and her capable self already.
