Chapter 21 - Living The New Chapter

Life taught many lessons in Fera's life, starting from losing her twin sister, hating Daffa, who is now her husband, and finally, her papa, who left her and her mother.

It doesn't feel like it's been five months since the two got married. However, there are still things that still stick in the woman's heart.

"Baby, I've been thinking about my mom," said Fera, still in her husband's arms that morning.

"Why?" asked Daffa.

"I don't know. I'm just afraid that my mom will bother your mom if they live together."

"Nah. After all, my mother is also happy and let your mother stay with her."

"I'm so curious. is she gonna married again?"

"Sssh! Carelessly! Papa just died, Babe. In my opinion, you can't say that."

"Hmm, yeah. I agree if there is a man of Mama's choice who loves her for who she is. Let Mama have a life partner."

The dilemma felt Fera at this time. Her childhood home is now rented out, and the mother lives with her in-laws. Worry enveloped her heart. No matter how close they were, Fera was afraid of a dispute between the two.

"How about my mom live in this house?" asked Fera doubtfully.

"Of course, it's ok. But it's better to talk about it first, ok?"

"Ok."

Fera then rushed to Daffa's house to meet her mother and in-laws. Daffa, who goes to work, secretly investigates the sender of mysterious letters and texts his wife has received.

"Farhan, can you help me? Can you track this number?" asked Daffa to his co-workers while showing a mobile phone number.

"Have you tried to call that number?"

"Already, but it was directly inactive. Several times this number sent strange messages on Fera's mobile phone. Now anyway, it's blocked."

"When was the last time this number sent a message?" asked Farhan.

"Two weeks ago."

"Alright then, I will try to track it down later. But, I try my best because it is quite difficult if the number is not active."

"Ok, thanks."

Farhan is known as an expert in the field. No wonder some colleagues of one office ask for his help for things like this. And yes, those text messages and strange messages on the paper always come at least once a week. Although no one sent the text these two weeks, Fera and Daffa were curious. Who is on a whim to do this kind of thing.

Knock knock

"Fera? Please, come in."

Siska warmly welcomed the arrival of her sister-in-law.

"Mama, is there?" asked Fera.

"Yeah, your mom's here also with my mom," replied Siska.

"Ah, ok. I'll meet my mother first."

"What do you want to drink?"

"No, I'm fine. If I'm thirsty, I can make it myself."

Fera then went to her beloved mother's room. However, she did not find it there.

A familiar voice sounded from the balcony of the house's second floor. The girl turned her head and hugged her mother tightly with longing.

"How's it going, Ma? Are you ok?" said Fera.

"Healthy, honey. Let's talk here."

The two sat together on the balcony while drinking a cup of tea made by Siska.

"Fer, Mrs. Arni is perfect for letting Mama stay here. But Mama's not feeling good. Mama has other plans...."

"Ah, that's also what Fera wants to talk about. Mama just stayed with Daffa and me, huh? Let's go; Mama has something to take care of," Fera said as she grasped her hand.

"You don't remember Mama's message? Husband and wife should not live together with their parents even if you have to rent a house. So that you can be independent, and there is no parental intervention in your marriage, "explained Mama.

"Yes, but I also don't want Mama to live alone if you move out of here," Fera said with a sultry look.

"Here, Mama has already contacted Aunt Vina. Now he lives in Bekasi. Well, he invited my mother to live with him. Incidentally, she is also a widow like Mama. So, according to Mama, there is nothing wrong if you live with Aunt Vina. The important thing is your own family."

"Hmm, Fera will try to talk to Daffa, Ma. I want it. I don't want to be far from Mom. At least we lived in one city."

This is indeed difficult for Fera to live. Remember, she and her mother were only two after the death of papa and her twin.

"Daf, what I see, this number is registered in Bandung with a new age. Try it, and you open the block first, just right that number again call your wife's number. I'll find more information later. Usually, numbers are easier to track when active."

"Ah, ok, ready. Thanks, Han," Daffa retorted as Farhan explained the bright spot about the mysterious number.

After visiting her in-laws' house, Fera then goes to her husband's office using an online motorcycle taxi service widely used. She was impatient, wanting to tell her mother's request to get a decision sooner.

Once there, she was approached by security guards at her husband's office.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Fera. It just so happens that you're here. Just now, a courier was delivering the package in the name of Ferania & Daffa."

"For me, sir? How send it here? Yes, let's see the sender's name," Fera asked, astonished she picked up the package.

"I don't know, Ma'am. Just now, the one who delivered this package was not an expedition courier. His appearance is mysterious. He is wearing a black hoodie jacket with half of his face covered with a mask and without wearing a helmet."

"Ah, all right, sir. Never mind. Yes, I went upstairs first, huh?"

Fera then rushed to Daffa's room with the package that was addressed to her earlier. Still curious, she then flipped through the box to find the name or address of the sender. However, she didn't find it at all. All there is her name and Daffa, along with this office address.

"Honey, are you here?" asked Daffa after seeing Fera entering his room.

"Yes, I have something to talk about. But, someone sent a package for us and was notified by security. I don't know from whom, and there is no sender's name."

"Try here, I see," Daffa said as she picked up the package.

Daffa slowly opened the brown square-shaped case. Both of them were confused because they saw two leather bracelets engraved with their respective names with a piece of paper behind them that read:

'Wedding Gift For You' from Felicia P Gunawan.

"What kind of joke is this?"

An annoyed Daffa threw the package away with the strange message. Fera tried to calm him down even though she was also very confused by what had happened. Suddenly from the door of the room, Farhan walked into the two in a hurry.

"Daf! Daf! I've found the sender's location of that strange text message!
