Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

The sun shines in my face after I open my curtains. Turning my head, I cover the sun with my hand. Nightmares began to creep into my head. I was barely able to sleep. Mom knocked at my door, so I welcomed her in. "Hey, you're going to be late for school." I turned, "Okay, I'll be ready in a few minutes." Mom understood, "Is everything all right?" My mother asked. I replied, "Yes." My arms crossed as I walked over to my bed. My mother sat beside me.

"Your father would be so proud of you for getting through your senior year," Mom said. I just listened. I sighed. "He would have been looking forward to your graduation next year." Mom kissed me. "Get ready, you're gonna be late." Mom stood up from my bed and left my room.

A dream came to me the next night. As I lay in bed, I dreamt. I kept turning my head from side to side. I sweated. I saw this boy again in my dream. I gasped as I awoke. I struggled to catch my breath. Mom opened the door and came to check on me. As I sighed, she asked if I was okay. My answer was, "Yes, I am fine."

I had fallen asleep in class. Mrs. Young taught the class. As she dropped the textbook on my desk, I awoke. "Good morning," she replied. Isabella giggled.

After I left the school, I went straight to my car. Isabella called my name, and I turned around. "Did you not hear me calling you the first three times?" Isabella followed me. "I'm sorry."

"I intentionally ditched the bus today."

I got into my car with Isabella. I started the engine and started to drive away. "So, let me take you home." I replied. I stopped at a stop sign before turning. I buckled my seatbelt. A sigh escaped Isabella's lips.

Isabella and I decided to study in a cafe together. I opened my textbook and jotted some notes down. "Hey, Cole, do you have five dollars?" I pulled my wallet from my pocket and handed Isabella twenty dollars. "Do you want anything?" she asked. I shook my head no. Isabella thanked me, then went to order her food.
