David walked up the stairs and was about to leave for work. He left the room after grabbing his phone off the nightstand. As soon as I opened the door, David noticed that I didn't look good. I had a headache, and I felt sick. David said, "You don't look good."
I was asleep when my mother came into my room. One hand was holding a glass of water, the other an aspirin. My eyes opened as I sat next to her on my bed. She handed me the pills first. I took them from her.
"My dreams have been strange lately, mom."
"Oh, okay?"
"It's like they're trying to communicate with me."
"I dream, but it means nothing."
After putting one pill in my mouth, I swallowed it with water. "Anyhow, how are you feeling?" I sighed and shrugged. Sucking down my second pill with water, I sighed and shrugged. My glass lay on my nightstand.
"Is there anything else you need?" asked Mom.
My head shook no, "No."
As I lay back down, mom got up from my bed. As I turned to my side, I sighed. "Mom?" I said. My mother turned around and sighed. I took a moment to think. "Never mind." My mother shook her head, "I'm leaving for work now." she said. "Okay." I replied. Mom left my room.
I dreamed of something else again. I saw him again. Screaming and shouting, begging and yelling for help, he begged for help. I then heard its name. I heard his name being whispered. My eyes opened.
Isabella and I were hanging out outside the school. She was telling me about her parents' divorce, and I was zoning out. Isabella said, "Earth to Cole." I glanced at her. "I'm sorry," She sighed, "Are you alright?" I said, "Yeah, I'm fine."
My heart went out to Isabella's parents. I remember when my parents divorced. This time, I saw Isabella on the school bus. I was stopped at a red light, and the school bus kept going.
As I entered my house, my mother noticed me. I took off my shoes and closed the door. "How are you feeling?" Mom asked. A cup of coffee rested in her hand. I answered, "I feel pretty good." My mom took a sip of her drink. After swallowing, she tells me she'll be doing laundry. "Okay, " I reply. She smiles and heads towards the basement.
