Andrew and Josh headed back out to the property for the next two days and didn't find any construction workers until the third. They squinted at their badges. "Were you the ones who kicked the door in then? I tried getting a hold of the client to tell him what happened but couldn't."
"He's in the hospital. Can't exactly answer his phone right now," Andrew said lightly.
"Oh. What happened?"
"He got hurt."
That was the extremely simplified version of what happened, leaving out Parker's mental breakdown and the fact that he had tried to kill himself. But that wasn't this construction worker's business.
"Anyway," Josh cut in. "We wanted to ask you guys some questions about this house."
"What about it? We haven't found anything weird under the floorboards or anything if that's what you're getting at."
