Chapter 59 - Chapter 59

"That's enough." Danzel spoke. He had heard enough from that man. He wished that Jaysa could be his, but now he found that she had a man and a child.

"Your Majesty," a familiar voice spoke. Danzel looked past Horis and saw his uncle, Martin, walking in.

"What do you want?" Danzel had anger building up inside him from this man that had been saying things about his wife, and now he had to deal with his uncle. This was not his day.

"I couldn't help but overhear what has happened." Martin spoke.

"You were eavesdropping." Danzel question the man. His voice was low.

"No, I just heard the commotion inside and decided –"

"To come in." Danzel spoke interrupting the man. Martin stayed quiet. "Again, what do you want?" Danzel questioned. Even if the man decided to walk in unannounced, he already knew what was going on. So there is nothing you could hide from the man.

"Is this about your wife true? Does she really have a fiancé? She is supposed to be married to you?" Danzel was not sure if you wanted to respond to the question. If he did, he would have to admit that she was never his. "Could that be the reason you were unable to bed the girl?" Martin asked. Danzel glared at the man. He put up his hands in defense. "Sire, I just thought with the marks on your face meant that nothing happened." Danzel couldn't listen to this anymore. He had to know if what this man says was indeed true. Danzel had to hear it from her. He stood up and ran down the three steps toward the door. "Sire, where you going?" Danzel stopped by the door and spoke.

"I'm going to get my wife to verify that what he is speaking is in fact the truth."

"But she's a woman; of course she will lie to save herself." Martin spoke.

If his allegation is true and we do find out that she was married with a child , then she would have to pay a punishment."

"Your Majesty." Horis yelled out. "I will let you know that she was embarrassed of people knowing about our relationship. She would not admit that we were together. Not even to you. So please. Don't embarrass her by asking if we are together. Please." The man pleaded. Danzel ignored the man's please. He wanted to hear from her. He left the room to find his wife.

Danzel laid on his bed thinking back. He never let Jaysa speak because he was afraid to hear the answer. She said that they were not together, but that was what the man said she would say. Maybe he was too rough on her not hearing her side of the story, but then again, she wouldn't let him sleep with her. He was confused. She told him that she was scared, because she never had been with the man. However, her fiancé said different. His anger had finally vanished. He laid staring up at the ceiling. His thoughts were still on Jaysa. He didn't want to kill her. He loved her. If he had to, he would fight to keep her. He sat up in the bed. He couldn't take it anymore. He had to ask her if it was true.

Danzel made his way towards the dungeon and down the stairs. He was met again with two guards at the bottom of the stairs. He walked past them without saying a word. He looked in each cell wondering which one she could be in. The guards were about to speak, but Danzel shushed them. He found Jaysa in the second cell to the right. Her legs were pulled up to her chest and her arms wrapped around her legs. Her head was face down in her knees. She was backed up in the corner. He stepped heavily on the ground to make noise, but Jaysa never move. It was almost déjà vu while he stood there waiting for Jaysa to respond. However, she never did. Danzel decided to break the silence with asking a question.

"Is that man truly not your lover?" He waited for a response, but was rewarded with silence. "Are you not denying that that man is your lover?" Jaysa stayed quiet. Danzel was getting irritated by the minute. He yelled out in anger. "Do you want to die?" Jaysa didn't look at her husband. Her face was still between her legs as she spoke.

"It doesn't matter. I'm a woman. I should not have a voice." The words almost muffled between her knees, but he could still understand her.

"I'm telling you to tell me the truth. If you don't, you will die." He spoke in a stern voice.

"Then I guess I'll die." she spoke quietly. Danzel slammed his hands onto the bars with anger.

"Why do you want to fuckin' die?" He yelled out. Jaysa stayed quiet. He turned to look at the guards and growled. "I want you to leave NOW!" The guards did not question his command as they scurried up the stairs leaving them alone. He turned back to Jaysa and spoke. "I want your side of the story." He spoke. "So tell me what the truth is." Jaysa finally looked up at her husband. Tear streaks were stained on her face and new ones were still falling. She was crying, and he was the reason for the tears.

"Why does it matter? You will believe a man over a woman." She spoke.

"Are you saying that that man lies?" He asked.

"Why does it matter?" She spoke back.

"Just answer the question. Was he your lover? Was that child yours?" Danzel's eyes never moved off of hers.

"No… I'm not his lover…and I never had any kids." She spoke back. Her voice never changed.

"So you're telling me, that you're a virgin correct?" He spoke again. Jaysa didn't flatter an eye as she spoke back.

"I told you, I am."

"Then you will prove it." Danzel spoke.

"How?" She asked Danzel. She had no idea what the man was planning.
