Chapter 64 - Chapter 64

"I just wanted to make sure you're okay." He spoke.

"I'm fine." Jaysa said with a smile.

"You don't have to hide it." Joseph touched her cheek gently.

"What are you talking about?" Jaysa was not following what the man was saying. He looked above Jaysa. The young Queen turned to see what he was looking at. That's when she noticed Madison sitting at the top of the stairs looking down at them. Joseph spoke to get the young girl's attention.

"Come with me." Jaysa followed the priest over to the doors so they were out of the young girls hearing range.

"So what is it that you want to ask?" Jaysa spoke.

"Danzel proved your innocent and I wanted to congratulate you." He spoke. Jaysa looked at him and lifted her brow.

"Congratulate me? For what?"

"For finally accepting Danzel into your heart." Joseph spoke. He was so excited that she had finally accepted Danzel.

"I didn't accept anything from him." She spoke back.

"What? Wait he said you two… You know." Joseph spoke.

"What had sex?" Jaysa spat out. Joseph shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, yeah." Jaysa looked at Joseph and spoke.

"That was just sex. There was no meaning behind it." Joseph was torn by those words. He had to ask.

"If it wasn't out of love, then what?" He asked.

"It was a choice. I was cornered into it." She spoke with disgust.

"What do you mean?" Joseph was not following her. Jaysa stared at the man pondering if he was really in the same reality as she was.

"I had a choice, to give myself to him, or die. And I picked to live. So I allowed him to rape me."

"Rape?" Joseph eyes searched her face wondering if she was lying, but her features never change.

"Even if I gave him my body, I didn't want to. I was forced to. Some consider it is rape and nothing more. I will never allow him to bed me again.

"My dear," Joseph wasn't sure what to say. She said she willing given herself to him, but then turned around and says its rape. Was that something a woman could actually say? "You just wanted to live?" He asked. Jaysa looked Joseph's eyes.

"Is that really so bad?" She questioned as if he she had done something horrible. The priest shook his head.

"Everyone wants to live." Jaysa stayed quiet for a moment.

"Hey, I um, I just want to say, thank you for worrying about me but, I really don't want to talk about this anymore." Jaysa hung her head. She didn't want to sound rude, but she no longer wanted to speak about the topic.

"Its fine my dear." He spoke gently. Jaysa looked at Joseph and smiled.

"Thanks." The priest smiled back. "Well I should get back with Madison. She's probably lonely." She spoke. The priest nodded as he watched Jaysa disappear from his sight. Joseph suddenly heard the door behind him slam shut. He didn't realize that it was open. The priest opened the door and looked around. No one was in the hallway. Someone heard the conversation and the question was who.

Jaysa was back up the stairs and she sat next to Madison. Madison was reading a new book. The books the young girl read were no novels. They were short and sweet. Jaysa had her back propped up against the bookshelf and her head was arched back allowing her to look up at the ceiling again. She was replaying everything that happened since yesterday in her head. Someone really hated her if they lied to his Majesty about their relationship with her. She pondered on what would happen to that man and the child. The man of course committed one of the worst crimes ever by lying to his Majesty. So what was going to happen to him?

"What's going to happen to the man that accused you of betraying the King?" Jaysa looked down at Madison. Apparently they were thinking the same thing.

"I don't know." Jaysa admitted. "I haven't talked to his highness about that."

"Did you have sex with the King to prove your innocence?" Jaysa turned bright red. She never thought that Madison would ask something so personal.

"That's something I will keep to myself." Jaysa replied. Madison pressed the question and Jaysa calmly shot it down. Not getting an answer, Madison finally gave up before she started to irritate the young Queen.

"Ma'am?" Jaysa heard a quiet young girl speak out. If it was loud in the room, you wouldn't have heard her speak. Jaysa jumped on her feet and walked over by the balcony again. She looked down.

"Yes," Jaysa spoke out. "What is it?"

"I was told to come to get you for lunch. You missed out on breakfast." Before Jaysa could respond her stomach growled as if saying she was hungry. The maid cracked a smile.

"Well my Queen. We should go eat." Madison spoke. Jaysa rolled her eyes. "Don't call me that." Madison just gave up and skipped down the stairs towards the maid. Jaysa smiled as Madison turned around and waved, silently telling her to hurry up.
