Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: Amanda.

In the morning Sirin talked with the human again. This time she even gave him her name. which was Amanda. According to her it was bad luck if a demon knew your name. But she didn't think that her situation could be any worse.

In response Sirin also gave her his name. He didn't know if the bad luck part was on both sides, but he felt like she deserved to know his name for spending so much time with him.

It was at this point that he also showed her his new chape change ability. Needles to say Amanda was immensely proud at him.

Currently Sirin was sitting on one of the rocks near Amanda with his tail swinging from side to side as he listened to her songs. He was wondering whether or not he should ask it. After all it might be a sore spot for Amanda. But he decided to just do it. If she didn't want to talk about it, then he wouldn't ask further.

He waited until she finished her song and then he spoke. "If the human world is so amazing then why are you here in hell?"

She hesitated for a moment. After what felt like an eternity, she answered. She told him about how long ago there was a demon lord that would place his mark on people, which spread like a plague. One would not know they had it until it was to late. If a person carrying this mark killed themselves or even if they died saving another life. The mark would open a portal to the dead forest. Here the individual would be trapped, and their souls would slowly be consumed by that demon lord. But now that demon lord had died a long time ago and the humans were still doomed to be trapped here until the end of their days.

Sirin tilted his head. "Then is there no way to get you out of here?"

Amanda sighed. "Unless you find a way to break the curse. But you would need to be just as if not stronger than that demon to do it."

"Then I'll do it! I will become the strongest demon there is!"

The woman chuckled. "Sure, little one. Your life will be long without a doubt. Who knows what you can achieve in that time?"

"Then we can go to the human world together?"

"I don't see why not. But other humans wouldn't be that happy with a demon walking around."

Sirin just smiled. He already had a solution for that even if he would have to spill a lot of blood for it.

After a while he ventured back to the ruins. It was probably because he was still young, but the clothes that he found not too long ago would soon be too small. Therefore, he was planning on looking for some new ones. However, he was also hoping on finding some more human stuff as well so that he could bring something back to Amanda.

As he made his way there, he couldn't help but notice the group of demons running towards a certain place. Most of these demons seemed around his age and he even recognised a few that came from the same nest as himself.

To be honest he also felt the instinctive pull to go to that place. One of the altars had opened up a portal to one of the human worlds, that much was clear from the smell alone.

But unlike these other demons, he had someone waiting for him. He couldn't just go to random worlds without telling Amanda first. Apart from being trapped and surrounded by whispering tree people, she would also go crazy from worrying about him. Or so he at least hoped.

For a moment he wondered whether or not he should kill one of these little demons. But it probably wasn't worth it at the moment. He might get the flame demon bloodline, but the other demons would go after him as well. So, he would just wait until one of them wandered off or something.

He entered a random building; this one was different from the first he entered. It was larger, but empty. Frankly, it was hard to believe that something had lived here. But from the songs of Amanda, he was quite certain that this had indeed been a human home.

After entering a few more buildings he went back to the dead forest. Sadly, he had only found some clothes. They were a bit too large but that wouldn't be much of a problem in the long run.

Once he came back, he chatted a little with Amanda before he went to sleep. He had barely slept the day before after all. He figured that he was too freaked out at the moment due to the system.

When he wakeup again he was glad that the clothing he had found was a bit too large since he had grown quite a lot. From what he had seen from the other hatchlings in the area, this was fairly normal. All of them had grown a lot in the past few days. But it was still a pain in the ass. Especially with already unsteady legs.

But now that he was a fair bit larger, and hopefully stronger, he figured that he should tell Amanda about his plans. Which was to go to one of the human worlds for souls.

He had seen countless other demons do it by now and he kind of felt like that he should at the verry least try it once. He might even find some cool new bloodlines there!

Luckily Amanda agreed with him, under the condition that once he came back to hell, he would have to come back to the dead forest just so she would know that he was still alive.

With them both agreeing on the terms he went to look for the nearest portal to the Human world.
