Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9: Third form.

Sirin hadn't heard of Nagas before. The only reason that he knew that the other creature was a goblin was because Amanda had told him about these type of monsters.

Furthermore, it was odd that he only needed tis few souls from Nagas. But he just shrugged it off, maybe one of his ancestors was part Naga or something.

In the following days Sirin would still kill any monster that entered the town. At least as long as the hunters that were already there didn't find it first. His arm had also completely healed by now.

Jordan had given him a few more souls. Tough it was not as much as last time and most of them weren't human. Just a few more mountain lion ones and even a few wolfs.

Sirin didn't really mind, he got a boost in his stats regardless of the species and he was already focusing on the more specific ones himself. The Nagas.

Motivated by the fact that he didn't need that many souls he started to actively seek them out. During the day they would most often be sleeping in or close by water. At night they would look for food, what sometimes led them to the village.

But Sirin couldn't help but notice that all of the Nagas he killed seemed young. Not as young as he was, but they were definitely not adults.

Killing these was relatively easy tough. He would look for them when they were sleeping and then quickly retreat so no other would spot him. He would also always look for them at different spots. But still, he couldn't help but worry that he would eventually encounter an adult.

He looked around the lake to see if no angry Naga would come out to avenge their companion before he took the last soul he needed. He didn't test this bloodline out immediately. He had to be a safe distance away from the lake first. In case one would still come after him he was certain that he could run faster on his legs.

Once he got back to the place he was summoned, he felt safe enough to try it out. This place was separated far enough from the town so that not many people would care to come here. And because the town was in between this building and the lake he was relatively safe from the Nagas as well.

After checking if nothing was here for one final time, he opened the system.

< Would you like to use the Naga bloodline? >

Once he accepted, he felt incredibly sick and dizzy. He fell to his knees as he started to change.

He remembered feeling terrible when he transformed into a shade demon for the fist time. Tough that wasn't as bad as now.

At this point his vision was blurry and everything hurt. Even if it only lasted for a few seconds, he truly hoped that just as with the shade demon bloodline he didn't have to go through this a second time.

Once the pain begun to fade and his vision was clear again, he tried to stand up. However, he soon lost his balance again since he wasn't used to his lower half being that of a snake.

He dragged himself to one of the walls so he could lean on that as he tried to stand. He eventually managed to pull himself up and tried to inspect his current body.

The part if his body that was that of a snake was at least twice as long as the rest. And instead of his usually random stripes he now had an ordered black pattern on a white base colour. Tough the tip of his tail was still black like it was in his normal form. His fangs were a bit longer as well.

As he leaned against the wall, he noticed something off. His head could completely touch the wall without anything being in the way.

Almost trembling he reached out and his suspicions were confirmed. They weren't there, his horns weren't there anymore!

He knew that they would come back once he returned to his original form, but he couldn't help but to freak out about it. As a demon he took great pride in his horns and with them not being there, just made him feel like he missed a part of himself.

Convincing himself that it was meaningless to worry about it he started to try and move around on his own, mimicking the Nagas and snakes that he had seen. Needless to say, it felt odd to slither around like this. But the sooner he got used to it the better.

Once he felt that he could move around without being bothered too much by his snake half he decided to go back into town like this.

It would be fun to test the venom out on a few monsters and even if it went wrong, he could always change back and run away.

Making his way to the town took a lot longer like this, but it wasn't that bad; he would still be there before it became dark.

Once he arrived, he quickly stuck out his forked tongue to get a better idea of all the smells in the area. He thought that it was weird, but his sense of smell was a lot better in this form, so he couldn't complain.

Like this he could easily locate another monster. It smelled quite like a human, but there was something different about it. So naturally he wanted to see what it was as soon as possible.
