Chapter 4 - Chapter 4- Something phenomenal (3)

For a moment, Percy felt light headed. As though a large amount of her energy had just been consumed.

Percy forced her feet to remain rooted to the ground and listened as the man spoke.

"Tell me child, do you know of the prophecy?"

"Which one?"

Percy questioned, her mind was blurred, the man's presence alone was draining her more than she wanted to believe was possible. She forced herself to listen to the man's words as he uttered his prophecy.

"The saviour betrayed by those she loved

Has bled and shed more then enough blood

Her journey is thought to have come to an end

By those who refuse to apprehend

Daughter of Void, star of the abyss

Her existence is crucial in this

One whose existence brings nothing but ail

Those whose eyes have been unveiled

But others with seals placed over their hearts

Fall prey to her dark arts

The universe that is subject to a final threat

And a dept unpaid, which they will never forget

Star of the abyss, my chosen one

The end begins your time has come

The sands run out as stars collide

To gain her aid and change the tide

To save the stars and worlds from their demise

She may utter her final goodbyes..."

Percy stared toward the man, gobsmacked by the man's words.

"Daughter of void, star of they abyss..."

She couldn't help by repeat, she knew well about the prophecy. It was a legend amongst both immortals and mortals. A story often told to children, but no one ever really believed it. It was one of the oldest myths there were, but that was all.

The 'Void star' was nothing but a myth even within the mythological world.

"I'm...the chosen one?"

Percy asked slowly as her mind processed the information.

"Me?"

She pointed to herself to which she received a second nod from Void who let out a sigh.

"You have time until the prophecy comes to pass."

He told her gently as though to reassure.

"You have saved the gods countless times until now child, you will be able to save the universe."

Percy shook her head.

"How can you trust me? Do I seem that trustworthy?"

Percy frowned, how could this person trust her so easily after having just met her?

"I trust my power, child. I trust that my essence made the right choice when choosing you."

"So you trust yourself."

Percy corrected her earlier thoughts.

"Yes. So trust me if you cannot trust yourself. I will made it so you do not fail within your task."

"You sound a lot like a bible right now, you know that?"

Percy couldn't help but comment aloud and Void frowned.

"You read the bible?"

He questioned in confusion but Percy just waved it off.

"I stumbled on and read a few quotes online."

Void nodded his head in satisfaction at the answer he received but Percy couldn't help but feel curious about one more thing.

"The mark, what of the mark?"

The 'mark' was said to reveal the identity of his chosen one.

"Your forehead."

Void answered as though it answered everything and Percy didn't question further as the light which had illuminated from her forehead earlier had explained it. Percy let out a sigh, no matter how much she hated it, there was nothing she could do to change it. Therefore, her only option was to accept it.

"In will release my hold on time now that you are fully aware of your current situation. However, before I leave, i would like for you to vow, never to speak of this without my consent."

'Huh?'

Percy glanced around, only then noticing that time had frozen around them. Everyone was left frozen through mid-action. Percy though, shrugged it off and turned her attention back to Void.

"I swear under the name of Void to never speak of what had been revealed to me within this gap of time lest I have been given permission or asked to."

Percy didn't understand why she had suddenly made an oath under Void's name. However, the oath came as naturally to her as humans needing to breath oxygen. It was as though a compelling for of some sort told her it was the right choice.

Like not saying anything when she had been accused of committing treason.

The man nodded his head.

"Your oath will not effect you in any negative way. You are under what is known as 'the curse of silence', meaning that if one were to believe your words of the prophecy without me having permitted, the mist would immediately wash over them and erase their memories of you ever having spoken of it."

The man told her as a slight smile graced his lips. He reached his hand and patted the top of her head.

"Believe in the stars child, even if you cannot believe in yourself."

Saying so, the man's form faded and disappeared leaving Percy to face the frozen olympians who had returned to what they were to do prior to time having frozen.
