Percy sat on the ground, watching as the seconds ticked by. After staring at her watch for about 10 seconds, the dagger rested in her lap in a position for which is easy for her to grab for the hilt.
She began to hear a conversation come through. However it seemed fainter than the laughter from moments earlier.
"Will you be quiet?"
Percy recognised the voice as chaos', laced with annoyance directed at the people behind the portal.
"I'm here trying to speak with Persephone Jackson and all we hear besides ourselves is laughter, laughter which all of you are exhibiting."
"Sorry Chaos, it's just the conversation is hilarious with what her answers and retorts are. We can't seem to help it."
"You're all millions of years old and can't keep in a laugh?"
Chaos spoke with a huff and tone of exasperation.
"I think we'll have to work on that when when had time. Now if all of you will be quiet...No, all of you do be quiet. Now, I will go and continue this conversation, it was hard enough to locate her the first time after we lost her."
Percy froze, why did she feel as though she wanted to bang her head at this new piece of information which had unintentionally been presented to her?
Why did she feel like disappearing just so they would need to find her again?
"We'll try, Chaos."
A few moments later, Chaos returned from inside the portal. as she glanced at her watch for a moment.
"Hello again, Percy."
"You took 3 minutes and 27 seconds."
Percy informed him and received a raised brow at the amount of time which she had actually calculated and continued to speak.
"That sounded as though you were scolding children for being too loud rather than as you'd put it, millions of years old deities."
Percy heard something which sounded akin to water being spat out on the other side of the portal and couldn't help the amusement which danced in her eyes.
"You really heard that?"
Chaos questioned in utter shock and Percy merely shrugged her shoulder in reply while smiling.
"It's a wonder how a person's senses can change and develop over time. Especially over the course of months when they're in the wild all by themselves."
She told him, the seriousness in her eyes returned quickly as she finished her statement and she spoke.
"Now, let's get back to topic, shall we?"
Almost as though to retort, someone came out through the portal at that moment. Instead of coming through, it was almost as though the were pushed out. The person fell through while shrieking and Percy jumped back while taking her dagger.
Regularly, she would have used Riptide. However, the weapon had long since been returned to its original owner and thus, Percy had been left without a main weapon.
"Why did they push me out?"
The man questioned as he turned his head up towards Chaos, the man's white shirt was dirtied from the mud but that didn't seem to be his concern.
"I don't know, why don't you go back through the portal and ask them?"
Chaos spoke exasperatedly.
"In a minute."
The man stated before taking a glance at Percy.
"I haven't had the chance to say hello. I wanted to say hello on one of her quests but you wouldn't let me."
"For good reason."
Chaos informed him as a mater of factly as the man turned to look at her. His eyes land on the dagger pointed towards him and he ran back through the portal shrieking once again. Percy heard several laughters through it which she was sure were directed at the person who ran through.
"Sorry for that Percy, they are usually much more collected then...this."
"Mn..."
Percy hums in response while looking toward the portal.
"Why are you looking at the portal?"
Chaos finally questioned.
"Nothing, just waiting for something like an arrow to come flying out at me."
"Hm...that's a good idea. They do fire arrows at each other sometimes and some do miss and come flying out through the portal."
Chaos nodded his head as though her actions made perfect sense.
"Anyway, have you decided?"
"I told you didn't I? I'll join."
Percy stated it as though it were obvious before smiling toward him.
"I'll join as a commander."
"Of-course, I have a feeling you would choose to be commander rather than assassin."
Percy was curious to why he would have such a thought but didn't question him.
"We have one more commander other than you, he is the commander of 3rd unit. There are 6 units within the army, you will be able to choose 5 others for those positions as you will be the leader of the entirety of the 6 units."
"So something akin to a big boss."
Percy nodded her head in understanding at the explanation which she received, it was easy enough to understand.
"Now Percy, follow me."
Chaos directed towards the portal behind them as he stepped through and she followed.
