Chapter 2: Charles
My name is Charles Adams. I live in Mississippi. My parents got a divorce when I was ten years old. I did not take my parents' divorce hard because I knew they would be happier apart. I have a brother named Henry. Henry was adopted. My aunt was Henry's mother. Henry and I do not get along. Henry has always been jealous of me, but I do not know why. Our parents love us equally. I always try to get along with Henry, but he makes it so difficult. I have a sister named Lisa. We get along great. I also have a great relationship with my parents.
When I was thirteen years old I met this girl on the bus and I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. I did not get her name, but I would never forget her. I had a lot of girlfriends in high school, but I have never had a serious relationship. Henry dates a lot too. Henry is always dumping girls because he always finds something wrong with them. Lisa did not date in high school. Lisa was too busy studying to date. Lisa was going to college to become a lawyer. Lisa is a paralegal, but she wants to get her law degree. Henry is an actor.
Henry is going to be in a movie based on a book by Andrew Peterson. Andrew Peterson is a famous author who has written many mystery books. I am not a fan, but Lisa is a big fan of Andrew Peterson. Lisa also has a crush on Andrew Peterson. This is the first time I have ever seen Lisa interested in anyone. Lisa hasn't met Andrew, but she is hoping Henry lets her go on set with him. Lisa really wants to meet Andrew Peterson.
The next day I went to the bar with some friends. I saw this beautiful woman. I walked up to her. "Hello, my name is Charles Adams. What is your name?" I ask. "My name is Susan Brooks," Susan introduces herself. "Would you like to dance?" I ask. "Sure, I love to," Susan answers. We dance for hours. I liked Susan immediately. "Would you like to have dinner with me tomorrow night?" I ask. "Yes, I love to," Susan answers. I went home and all I could think about was my date with Susan. I could not wait.
Susan
Susan went home. Sara was watching TV when Susan arrived home. "I got a date with a soldier," Susan replied. "What's new about that?" Melissa replied. Melissa was Sara and Susan's roommate. Melissa did not care for Susan. Melissa hates when Susan brings random guys back to the apartment. Melissa already told Susan that she needs to stop letting guys stay the night because it's disrespectful. Melissa also points out that not only is Susan tarnishing her reputation, but she is hurting Melissa and Sara's reputation too. The neighbors think Sara and Melissa are the same as Susan. Melissa does not dislike Susan, but she wishes she would have more respect for her and Sara.
Susan wants to get another apartment, one she could afford without roommates. But her budget was too high. Susan was working at a beauty shop. She was not making a lot of money working there. Susan was hoping she could date and hopefully marry a wealthy man instead of dating any more losers who were poor. Susan hopes Charles is the wealthy man she's been waiting for.
