Chapter 5: Sara
The next day Susan told Melissa and me she was getting married. I could not believe it. I was happy for her. Susan finally was going to settle down. Melissa was surprised. "When are you going to get married?" Melissa asks. "We have not set a date. Charles wants to give his mother time to get to know me. Charles' mother does not like me," Susan explained. Charles thinks once his mother gets to know me, she will feel better about it," Susan replied. "I hope you are right because you do not have a very good reputation," Melissa replied.
"What is that supposed to mean you witch?!" Susan asks angrily. "You are known as a little floozy!" Melissa replied angrily. "Guys knock it off! I am happy for you Susan," I told Susan. Melissa storms off angrily. "I wish she would get off my back. I do not know why Melissa hates me so much!" Susan replied angrily. "Susan, just be patient with Melissa. Melissa does not hate you she just does not understand you," I told Susan. "I want you to be my bridesmaid," Susan replied. "I would be honored," I replied happily.
I went to look for Melissa. "Melissa, why don't you give Susan a break?" I ask. "I think Susan is just using this guy. I do not think she loves this guy. I will not give Susan a break. Charles Adams comes from a wealthy family. Susan is only marrying Charles because he is rich," Melissa replied. "You do not know that for sure. Susan might really love Charles," I replied. "Sara, I do not think Susan knows what love is. I do not think Susan is a bad person and I try to like Susan, but it is hard," Melissa explained.
I was hoping Melissa was wrong about Susan. I went to see my parents. Mom was working on paperwork and my stepdad was also working on paperwork. I told my mom that my roommates do not get along with each other. My mom told me to just support both my roommates. Mom cooked dinner for us. Mom was a great cook. I was going to spend the night because I needed to get away from the fight match between Susan and Melissa.
Susan
Susan could not believe that Melissa called her a floozy. Susan went to the bar to have a drink to calm her nerves. Susan saw Charles' brother Henry talk to some girls when he walked up to her. "Hello, what are you doing here by yourself?" Henry asks Susan. "I got into a fight with my roommate Melissa and I need to calm my nerves," Susan replied. Susan and Henry start talking. Susan really likes Henry because he is a handsome man. Susan wishes she would never have agreed to marry Charles because she starts to like Henry a whole lot better.
Susan went back to Henry's apartment and she stayed the night. Susan did not know what to do about Charles. Susan knew she had to break things off with him, but she did not know how she was going to do that. Also, she knew that Melissa was going to give her a hard time about breaking things off with Charles.
