"She has been this way, even before I met her. We first met when I was about 7 years old. She would always come to play with me and min-hyuk; but I never liked her."
"Because she treated min-hyuk badly?"
(Again, she was able to guess what I was thinking, at this point I should no longer be surprised) hwan thought to himself. "That's not the only reason why I dislike her so much. They are all like that, all of us. We despise and look down on things that are different than we are, and we feel are inferior to us. She on the other hand; there's just something else about her. She is like an empty shell of a person, never stands for anything, nothing is different about her; she seems like one of those people that will live and then just die; like an npc."
Da-hee chuckled a bit at what he said.
"Why do you laugh, do you find my reason for hating her unreasonable?"
"I do find it unreasonable, but that's not why I laughed. Its just, the things you said about her, someone might say the same about you. She's not an npc, nobody is; you just don't know her well enough. Also, you might hate her but you care about her as well."
"Wait, I don't understand what you mean-"
"It's fine, let's go, we need to get back to class."
Later that evening, hwan took da-hee home to have dinner at his house.
"My dad is at home but my mom isn't, she went on a trip and she will be back tomorrow. Are you sure today is the best day? Wouldn't it be better to speak to my mom as well?"
"Your mother doesn't like me; this makes things easier."
They had dinner alone, because hwan's dad was busy working, so he couldn't join them. When they were done with their dinner, hwan went to use the restroom and at that time, da-hee thought it would be nice to walk around and look at the house's detached library. It was amazing to see; an entire building that was just for books. As she entered, she then realized that it was not only a library but there was a small garden in it as well.
"This is so pretty." She said under her breath.
"You think it's pretty?" Lee tae-hyun asked.
Shocked by his sudden appearance, da-hee gasped a little. "What are you doing here, I thought you were working at home."
"This is my home." He said as he smiled slightly. "I like to work here sometimes. It makes me feel happy to see how well the plants are growing. So many people have made fun of me for creating such a fairy-tale like room; some say its cheesy."
"I think if you have the money, build a fucking castle if you want... I am so sorry; it was rude of me to curse."
Lee tae-hyun laughs and then responds. "It's fine, I told you before, I like how direct you are."
"In that case, I need to tell you something.... your son and I are in a fake relationship."
