I woke up excited to start the day and see Amelia. She was my favorite patient. The poor girl lost everything that night and is still acting very strange. I was worried but she seems to be getting better. Well, I should probably get out of bed so I can get ready to go to the hospital. So I go in front of the mirror and look at myself with blonde hair, brown eyes, dark skin, and my nurse attire. I almost forgot my name tag. I look down at it fondly, my name etched in it. "May," I whispered as though I would lose it too. But no. That's my name and it always will be. I go downstairs in my two-floor apartment and look in the cabinets for something to eat. There's only a rice cake and a packet of jelly. I decide to eat the rice cake and I instantly regret biting into it because it was as solid as a rock. It reminds me of when I was younger, I wasn't wealthy but my parents kept us afloat until the night they died when I was sent to the orphanage to live my life alone. I still don't know how my parents died. All I know is they were coming home from a night out and they never appeared that night, and the next day I got the news that they died of mysterious circumstances. Tears started welling up in my eyes. I shook my head and wiped the tears. I had more important things to do. Other than the mysterious death the only suspicious thing was a guy with a suit, gun, and black combed hair was there guarding the person telling me. But even that's not that strange. They probably thought I would punch them or something. So I clean my eyes and get a quick glance of those I have lost including my parents, my husband, and my son. My family all died. I had no one except Amelia. Speaking of, I should go check on her. I once again wiped my eyes and went out the door. I live next door to the hospital so I walk there. I go through the front door and grab any gear I don't already have, and then go to Amelia's room. I knock. She doesn't say "come in" or "the door's open" as she usually does. So I thought that she must still be asleep. She must still be asleep because there was no answer. The door is locked and I'm starting to get worried now. I dash to get my keys and run back to Amelia's room to unlock the door. I open the door panicked and what I see terrifies me. She's laying there with her head bleeding out and broken lamp pieces everywhere. The bottom of the lamp is in her hand. I connect the dots and I have a feeling Amelia knocked herself out. I rush to her side and analyze the wound. It looks like nothing got into the brain. There's a couple of little pieces of glass and one big one, however. I grabbed my walkie-talkie and called over more doctors. 3-4 doctors came in and they rushed to her side and immediately put her on a stretcher to clean her head. Apparently, there was more glass on her face than I had thought. The doctors pulled her into an operating room and started removing the pieces of glass. She was done getting operating on and was still asleep. I asked the doctors how she was and the doctors reassured me she would be fine. She just needed rest. It had been a couple of days and I had thought she had fallen back into a coma. Finally, she started to stir....
