"Okay, Felix! I want you to learn this!" Teacher Rou came close to Felix and said in a calm voice.
"If you want to fight with fast opponents, you have to cast and attack instantly!"
Felix observed how Teacher Rou was focusing.
Teacher Rou focused and waved his hand. A tremendous amount of earth energy blasted the ground with spikes and fissures.
"Felix, I just intended the earth law to attack and force my controlled earth energy outside in a direction!" Teacher Rou said.
Teacher Rou harumphed, and four elements struck around him. But, first, he kicked the earth, and it rumbled, shaking everyone's balance.
"Is he like a fucking avatar?!" Felix swore in his mind.
"Felix, you can incorporate an intuitive way to cast spells with your body, as I did! The next level is to feel the runes and energy, as parts of your body, then cast like this!" Teacher Rou smiled and just sighed.
Felix watched how the energy around Teacher Rou roiled and stormed.
Fire dragon and an Ice Pheonix appeared to battle, soon the earth shook, and a massive stone giant shook the heavens.
The wind cried, and blade storm collided with beasts of magic.
"What the hell!? If he can do so without incantations, what would his real spells would be like?!" Felix was trying to estimate Teacher Rou's power.
"Well, it looks something like this, when you control energy like your body! Magic is alive if you want it to be! Of course, there are more complex ways to cast faster and stronger spells, but for now, your homework is to master these ways!" Teacher Rou commanded.
"Frida, Gorge! Now tell me what you want to learn? But, unfortunately, I haven't seen an update from staff!" Teacher Rou asked.
"Yes, Teacher Rou! We need the training to help us respond against various spells! Soon, the battalion will go to combat Green Python's Cult for their transgressions, and we will act as Core Disciples Captains!" Frida said with a calm voice.
"Oh, so they didn't try to mend their relationship with us? Hahaha! For thousands of years, we were low-profile! But, since the Doomsday War, our clan made no big moves, so it appears someone is greedy for our wealth!" Teacher Rou smiled with disdain.
"Nevermind, politics, and strategies are for the War Council to make! For you two, we will make the best arrangements! Felix, I heard you have no experience in battle as well, right?" Teacher Rou had an ominous smile.
"Yes, Teacher Rou!" Felix had a bitter face while watching this man's smile of death.
"Great! Perfect! Here you go, your first three spells! Fire Miasma, Tri-Earth Coffin, and Void Pulse Blast! Please learn them by tomorrow! I mean, just to cast, and we will practice speed on sight! Frida and Gorge, you will dodge random spells from Felix and me, and I hope you will learn something! Dismissed!"
Felix watched the man vanish and sighed. "I want to learn space jump soon!"
"Felix, goodbye!" Frida was polite before leaving.
They quickly separated and went to prepare.
"I wonder if that fatty and weird eyes already arrived." Felix was in deep thought as he traveled back to his mansion.
Soon, he saw his head maid Virgo waiting for him near the entrance.
"Welcome home, young master!"
"Hi, Virgo. Did they arrive?" Felix sounded a bit impatient.
"Yes, young master! They are already inside!" Virgo followed Felix.
Felix walked hastily, and soon he heard fatty brag about his new Titan's Body breakthrough.
"Amelia, I'm telling you, you have no chance to win against me now! Hahaha!" Felix heard Marcus laugh like a maniac.
"You are too loud. Are you an animal?" Felix almost burst to laugh when he heard them quarrel.
"I see you two are feeling at home!" Felix said with a cheerful voice.
"Felix!" Fatty rushed towards Felix, intending to bear hug him.
"Oh hell, Nah!" Felix screamed in his mind as he saw a ball of rumbling fat rushing towards him.
Some wind and gravity energy pulsated in the room, and fatty blasted into the ground like a pig.
"WHAAAh!" Felix heard a scream of a pig right in front of him.
"Tsk, I didn't control this perfectly, but it's still alright..." Felix thought as he watched fatty squirm.
"No hugging, okay!?" Felix helped Marcus stand up and saw him without a bruize.
"Damn, this fatty's body is tough as nails!" Felix observed with shock.
"Dammit, Felix, why did you have to do that? Can't you talk like a normal person?!" Fatty was exasperated.
"Well, if you didn't act like a beast, he would treat you better. Right, Felix?" Amelia had a smirk on her usually poker face.
"Yeah... Well, nice to see that you both accepted my invitation! Let's go eat something while we chat." Felix asked some maids to prepare the food, and they sat in the dining room.
"Marcus, Amelia, do you have any questions?" Felix asked as he didn't know if they understood what they should do.
"Yeah, Felix. What is this confidant, and why the hell did you invite me here?" Fatty was looking like a dumb monkey at Felix.
"Well, a confidant is like my right-hand person! With my permission, you can invite inner and regular disciples to help you with the tasks and even gain merit points here! Of course, you won't have students status, so the library and other departments are off the table for you. However, if some teacher fancies you, they can accept you as disciples, and that can change your lives!" Felix smiled as he wanted to help those two.
"So that's how it is! Can we use the cultivation room here?" Marcus asked again.
"In here, you can do whatever you want! I don't want to limit you in any way! On the contrary, I hope this place will help you cultivate. That's why I chose you to help me. There are several cultivation rooms in underground facilities, so use them! Also, I will look up if there is anything else that can help you grow, and if you learn something, tell me, I will try to be helpful." Felix explained.
"Also, if you need books, tell me, I will find out how to unlock their restriction for you. Also, I have a three years training period now, so there won't be any disturbances." Felix said.
They talked for a few hours, as they had a lot of catching up to do.
Felix learned that Marcus had already reached the fourth transformation of his Innate Titan Body and even had a breakthrough to a Soul Transformation Stage.
On the other hand, Amelia was already a peak Soul Transformation expert and had several new abilities unlocked in her Seven Secret's Eyes.
Felix still wanted to cultivate and prepare for spell casting tomorrow. Thus, his time for chatting was over, and he went to work.
"Fire Miasma.
Four Stars Spell. Requires Fire Law Rune, Life Law Rune, Death Law Rune.
Combine life and death energies to create living poisonous gas that has corrosive power and rule it with Fire Law Rune formation as the foundation."
Felix was reading about the three spells he got from Teacher Rou.
"Tri-Earth Coffin.
Four Stars Spell. Requires Earth Law Rune, Water Law Rune, Metal Law Rune. Mix earth, water, and metal law energies, and use Earth Law Rune to contain them. Compress it until the water becomes almost solid, then use metal strings as small blades inside to ground your opponent."
"Void Pulse Blast.
Peak Four Star Spell. Requires Space Law, Wind Law, Death Law.
Use Space Law Rune to construct a bubble and then compress Death Law Energy as you fill the void with death energy, complete Wind Law formation on the surface of the void bubble, as depicted in the diagram.
Warning: Do not infuse the void with other elements!"
Felix was confused reading the last spell. "Well, if I follow the instructions, it shouldn't be that hard."
He practiced just the spell circle casting, and when he got the hang of it, it was already a late night.
"I better go sleep!" Felix thought he should rest a little.
The following day, Teacher Rou was already waiting in the arena.
"Good day, students! Let's start right away! Felix will practice. You will face the spells, defend or evade, at your discretion! I will also throw in a few spells, so be vigilant!" Teacher Rou instructed.
Felix began casting Fire Miasma and aimed the spell at Frida.
A scalding mist of corrosive darkness traveled towards the duo. Frida used her cultivation energy to surround herself and defend.
Felix got used to controlling the spell, and the hellish mist's speed increased.
The Death and Life Law Runes reinforced each other's energy, and the corrosive nature of the result quickly tore through Frida's barrier.
Frida chose to move, but it was too late as the mist had already enveloped her from all sides.
"Right, I shouldn't forget him!" Felix used maximum capacity of his mental power, and the mist spread like wildfire. Gorge had nowhere to run.
Unfortunately for Felix, Gorge was adept at hiding his body in shadow, and it helped to nullify most of the damage.
"I think I can use one more spell. My Law Runes are free after all!"
Felix tried to use one more spell, and even though it was taxing, he slowly built the magic circles.
He chose the Void Pulse Blast spell this time, as it could easily counter Gorge's shadow evasion.
"It feels painful, for my mind!"Felix frowned while casting.
It took him almost two minutes to simultaneously form a second spell.
"Be careful, Frida. It's space magic!" Gorge shouted as he rushed through the arena.
Near Felix, the air rippled, and sound screamed.
Felix felt the unbelievable speed of the missile, which required only his simple thought to charge through the space tunnel and blast the target.
He fuelled the spell formations with all his energy and shot two pulses towards Gorge and Frida.
Two screams of pain were heard at the exact moment, as Frida was blasted out of her barrier and Gorge forcefully ripped out of his shadow.
"Let's take a break!" Teacher Rou still had a calm voice.
Felix saw Frida's left arm shredded to pieces, and Gorge had a gouged left shoulder.
"Felix, don't use this spell anymore in this training! I think your space energy is close to God Rune. That's why it tore space without any problems. Also, if you observe their wounds, your death energy is still inside, killing their vitality! So it is just a tiny step away from evolution as well." Teacher Rou tried to evaluate the damage, as he frowned.
Felix watched how Teacher Rou created sacred light magic and healed their wounds after some time.
"Gorge, I think you learned your weakness. As for Frida, there is no need to comment. Your speed was subpar! Felix, I think you need to prepare movement spells for tomorrow, as you will be casting and evading them simultaneously! Your suffering will be proportional to your ability to move!"
Felix didn't even have a chance to open his mouth when Teacher Rou continued his tirade.
"Now, all three of you sit and listen!"
"First of all! Magic is different from cultivation methods, skills, abilities, and all else! If you take Gorge, for example! He has the makings of a terrifying assassin! He can turn into a shadow, hide in plain sight, and kill without notice! He cultivates Shadow Restriction Art! And it is Dao of Stealth and Shadow! He has quite an achievement as well!"
Felix and the two senior students cautiously listened to Teacher Rou's words.
"Felix, on the other hand, is using magical energy, not pure cultivation energy! Magical power has the potential to transform into all things! If the user is adept in control, he can wield magical energy to suit his needs! Pure energy body cultivators use has purity as its advantage. It deals damage and penetrates even harshest defenses! They both have benefits and drawbacks!"
Felix saw how Teacher Rou put both palms in the front, and two spirals of force appeared.
"In my left hand is pure energy! Every cultivator has some of it, maybe even more refined! On the right, you can see this berserk fluctuating might! It almost feels alive! This energy can contain wielders will and change according to it! It bends, heats, compressed! Nothing is impossible as long as you comprehend a way to do it!"
Teacher Rou slammed both energies, and a colossal combustion force blasted.
The three students saw how pure energy was condensed and used its essence to counter the force.
On the other hand, Magic energy changed several times until it found the best form to battle this pure power!
"Do you see?! Magic is like rubber, while this pure energy is like a rock! They both can be powerful, but rubber can be soft and hard, depending on the temperature! It can even stick or fill the gaps! Its adaptability can find a way to shatter a rock! What you, Frida, and Gorge have to learn is to adapt! Don't waste time to shield yourself if it's better to run, or hide in a safe space, while it's better to interrupt the enemy!"
Teacher Rou was almost angry as he spoke.
"Felix, if I see you are standing like an idiot and casting without any vigilance, I will punish you so bad you will cry for mommy!!! WHERE IS IT SEEN??? A mage can be cut to pieces in a blink of an eye, but you didn't even cast any defensive measures before attacking!!!"
Felix was red in shame and lowered his head as he didn't find any way to retort.
"Tomorrow, a few experts will join us, I don't care what rules say, but if I can't trust you to survive an emergency, it is an EMERGENCY!!! What if someone destroyed the clan tomorrow, and you had to survive?! Your parents, teachers, and even ancestors would turn grave if they see you die like fools! I am too angry and ashamed to see you now! Go and prepare for tomorrow because if you disappoint me again, I swear to Lord Westgate that I will trash you till you cry tears of blood! Dismissed!"
Felix and the others left in shame and tried not to feel anxious for tomorrow.
Sadly, time flows fastest when you are in distress, and you wish it to last!
The trio of students came to the arena early in the morning, and Teacher Rou wasn't here yet.
"Hi, Felix." Frida and Gorge welcomed his tiny figure.
"Hello, Gorge, Firda." Felix had no emotion in his voice. Instead, he tried to be at the highest focus possible.
"Good morning, suicidal trio! I brought guests, who will provide the best assistance!" Then, teacher Rou's voice finally sounded, and four figures appeared.
"MOM?!" Three voices sounded simultaneous.
The student's mom appeared with Teacher Rou.
"Teacher Rou explained your lack of brains, Felix!"
Thundering voice shadowed and crushed the trios spirit.
Sitri was like a demoness of hell as she descended.
"DO YOU THINK YOU CAN ACT STUPID IN A MOCK BATTLE!!!???"
Three women screamed, and killing intent was unbearable.
Teacher Rou just sat in the stands and drank wine, as if this was the best show possible.
"Miss Inri and Marou, please help me teach my child a way of the jungle!" Sitri's voice sent chills down Felix's spine.
"Miss Sitri doesn't need to be polite. We request your assistance with our delinquents as well!" The three mothers exchanged understanding glances and turned to look at the kids.
"FELIX! I WANT TO SEE YOU STAND AND CAST LIKE A FOOL AGAIN!!!"
"Dear goat of Jesus!!!" Felix almost cried as he tried to dodge a terrifying beam of death energy.
The same explosions were happening near Gorge and Frida.
Even though the children had much more powerful talents, the mothers were battle-hardened veterans!
Sitri was almost a Principle Demoness, as the other two were Peak Titled Goddess!
Thousands of times, they saw death and blood as every branch family had to fight for themselves in this vast world!
"Felix! It seems we didn't tell you enough sorrows we faced for you to act so foolishly! Silver and I, Ofelia and Abbadon, buried so many loved ones just because of simple mistakes! IF YOU DARE TO LAX YOUR MIND, THE DARE TO FIGHT BACK AS WELL!!!"
"Dear mother of SANTAAAA!!!!" Felix screamed in his mind as he instinctively cast earth and metal barriers to stop summoned creatures from overcrowding him.
Sitri just waved her hands and spoke in Evil Ancient Script.
"Turn thee mighty! I bequeath your majesty! Death Lord - Gorundu'z!"
A creepy black emptiness appeared on the ground, and a giant skeleton walked out from it.
Horrifying screams chilled the hearts of the trio, and they looked at each other as they knew they had to work together if they wanted to survive.
"Sitri, don't you think it's too much?!" Inri and Marou asked with worry as they saw this giant figure.
"Ladies, I will better watch them suffer at our hands for a few minutes, then die at the hands of the enemy! Now focus, we must help them grow, or they will die because we were too soft!!!" Sitri reignited their passion, and the two women attacked with fervor.
"Gorge, DON'T YOU DARE NOT OBSERVE THE BATTLEFIELD!" Lady Inri was enraged when she saw her kid look at the giant skeleton without any vigilance.
Everyone heard a loud boom, and Gorge blasted towards Felix with the speed of sound.
"Damn, I must use every movement, Rune Law!"
Felix opened his Primordial Star Chart and infused Time, Space, Wind, and Gravity Law Runes inside, as he made himself move with unprecedented haste.
"Fuck this! I need to endure casting!" Felix cried inside as pain assaulted his mind, and he used supporting magic to heal Frida and speed up Gorge.
"Wake up, Lady Frida! You must focus your power on defense!" Felix transferred his voice to the girl with wind magic.
"FELIX! Don't be naive! IF YOU THINK YOU CAN LOOK AWAY FROM ME, YOU WILL SUFFER!"
Felix just turned back to his mother and saw a palm flying to his face!
POW!!!
Felix could taste blood in his mouth as he blasted through the air and bashed into arena stone cold ground.
"Tri-Earth Coffin!" Felix used leftover mental energy to cast a spell on Sitri as he tried to recollect his body from a pit.
Sadly, Marou was expert Archer, and soon, a hail of arrows wooshed through the air towards the trio in impossible angles.
Gorge, Frida, and Felix were struck in both arms simultaneously.
"That's enough for today!" A soft voice made them all freeze as space magic locked their movement in place.
" I am honored to be assisted by you, Madams! I will hope you grace the students with your presence tomorrow."
The trio almost fainted when they heard Teacher Rou's words. "Mamma mia, I don't think I can keep up with mom!" Felix was terrified of this demoness.
"No problem, Teacher Rou, it is our responsibility to educate our children!" The mom coalition smiled gracefully and left while holding hands triumphantly.
"Hahahaha! You can report me if you want! Every other elder would do the same! Now wash the snot from your faces. You disgust me! " Teacher Rou just cursed and teleported away.
"Guys, let's meet tomorrow. I think my insides are crushed!" Gorge said with a bitter smile while remembering his mother's strike.
"Okay..." Felix said in a weak voice and shocked the duo as they watched his hands crushed to the bone.
"Tomorrow, we must do our best, or mom will kill us rather than let us die outside unprepared!" Felix sighed and left for his mansion.
