The following day Captain Goldfield was already waiting for them in the Quest Hall.
"It seems I arrived quickly enough!" Felix was surprised to see the captain here already, as it was an hour before their meeting time.
"Hello, Captain Goldfield." Felix greeted the man and sat in the lotus position to wait, as there were only two of them for now.
"Hello, First Lieutenant!" Goldfield exchanged greetings and stood like a statue, waiting.
At about 4:50 AM, all fifty recruits have arrived, and Captain Goldfield coughed lightly to gather attention.
"Hello everyone! Soon an elder from War Council will come to inform us of our task! So everyone is respectful and do not disappoint me!"
Felix waited calmly, and quite soon, a space fluctuation spread in the room.
"Hello, young trainees! Captain Goldfield!" A woman in her thirties appeared.
She wore a War Official's uniform and had a small sword.
"I am Tyra Westgate, the thirtieth Elder of War Council! Captain goldfields squad will perform a mission in the outside world! Now listen and memorize the details!"
Felix felt his token buzz as notification arrived.
"Notification: Details for Captain Goldfield's squad mission!"
He could see the details now but chose not to, as he should show some focus towards this War Councilwoman.
"Captain and lieutenants already have all information in their tokens! Your mission is to infiltrate the Mortal Kingdom on Ohomo Star, where Green Python's Cult headquarters lie! We believe that one of our students Saro Lent, a Principle God, titled Barbaric Mantis, has taken refugee in the Foro Kingdom's Capital City! There should be several additional survivors! You are to find them and report back! Do not fight, and do not rescue! I wish you good fortune!"
Felix watched the woman leave and sighed. " This mission is pretty much a spy mission. However, I am sure there will be so many changes soon..."
"We will use the Westgate Portal to reach the Ohomo Star! Everyone move out!" Captain Goldfield commanded, and Felix followed.
The squad soon reached the Clans Westgate Artifact that connected all the branches.
"Captain Goldfield, your squad will enter after three minutes!" A guard said with a salute.
Felix waited for a while and then entered the portal with Captain Goldfield.
"Captain Goldfield!" Felix heard a salute.
"You are in the Markor City, three hundred kilometers away from the Foro Kingdoms Capital!"
Felix observed a small-statured man, who appeared to be an informant.
"I should be vigilant!" Felix revolved his Nature Law Rune and the Primordial Star Char to feel everything in the surroundings without alerting anyone.
Now, his powers were pretty much unnoticeable, as both Nature Law and Primordial Star Chart could reach harmony with the outside world.
"I don't feel this clerk lying. Also, he feels a lot of stress, and his heartbeat is normal! So he shouldn't lie!" Felix concluded and continued observing everything in a massive radius around himself.
"I can control my mental energy in a kilometers radius! I should keep this up all time, but I cannot enlarge it as it will lose its stealth."
Felix learned how to use his colossal mental strength to observe everything around him. It was an effortless technique everyone who reached at least Soul Transformation could do.
"Scout Thomas and Wirep! You go and check what is happening in the Capital! Then, report to me every thirty minutes!"
Captain Goldfield commanded and turned to look at the others.
"First, we will wait to hear from scouts, then plan how to get inside the city without attracting too much attention! Everyone meditates to be at their peak. We don't know yet if we are safe!"
Felix nodded and read his tokens update.
"Mission: Find Saro Lent in Foro Kingdom's Capital City.
Intel: Saro Lent and his squad from Close Combat Arts Department were sent to assassinate Green Python's Cult mage battalion but had to retreat after an accident!"
"So that's how it is?" Felix contemplated.
He could still recall Professor Mo guiding Saro Lent as he prepared for this mission.
"I have some time. It's best to go through all books I gathered!" Felix planned his time.
"Green Python's Cult!" Felix took out all intel he got on them.
There was a vast history for this cult, as it was in a historical coalition of evil cults!
"There were always Cult Masters who tried to achieve higher cultivation methods, by offering sacrifices, or even devouring souls..."
Felix was disgusted by this information. "Why would you resort to even cannibalism? Eh, it is not for me to understand." Felix gave up on trying to understand this mad cultivation method.
"They have only seventeen God-Kings and a few half-step Emperors. I think that General Feng will take care of these powerhouses..." Felix strategized.
"I should keep one pill of Life Restoration, just in case! I might not be fast enough to take it out from the space ring, after all..."
Time passed, and even Captain Goldfield noticed Felix with books, parchments, and scrolls.
"What are you researching at this time?" Captain Feng entered Felix's tent.
"Captain Feng, as you know, I had only a few weeks to train as a Core Disciple, so I got my books to study while I have some time..." Felix chose not to tell the whole truth.
"You are a very diligent person! First, I will order others not to disturb, without any reason. Then, when we begin, I will send someone to invite you!" Captain Feng was glad to see Felix sharp even in this situation.
"I don't think I have a lot of time. I better read about Mad League!" Felix was looking at the sun in the sky.
Mad League was one of the ten most potent forces known in the Gods Realm.
"Seven officially confirmed God-Emperors..."
Felix was disturbed by the official numbers. "They do seem like a strong force, especially if we take in their vassals."
Felix read that Mad League was a massive association of evil cultivators. Most of the Cults, Dark Temples, and Evil Sects with no emperors joined them.
"The clan deduces that Mad League is making a move, on several First-Rate powers, who have low official numbers of Emperors..."
"The Westgate Clan has an official history of thriving past, as one of the Ancient Clans. However, thousands of years have passed now, and some new powers are craving for such a great starfield, close to several ancient battlefields and ruins..." Felix frowned as he read the Intelligence Tower report.
"Why would they stay so low-profile?" Felix was impressed how the Westgate Clan stood united and didn't spill the information in such a long time.
"I saw Grand Elders, they seem like God-Emperor realm cultivators, so at least I know some of the Westgate Clans hidden power. However, if I take it as an example, the Mad League will hide some of its power as well."
Felix looked at the setting sun as the books consumed time.
"I should cultivate a little and sleep! I must maintain a peak form in a foreign land." Felix was decisive and stopped his research.
Deep in the night, a scout came to invite him to Captain Goldfield's tent.
Felix nodded and followed the man.
"First Lieutenant! Now all of the personnel are here!"
Felix looked around to see Goran and the scouts.
"The scouts have retrieved the information! Saro Lent is hiding in the Sacred Light Church! This church is an old religion, and they come from the Gods Starfield, so nobody dared to invade it. We will await further orders as I pass the information to the Clan. Any questions?"
"No, Captain Goldfield!" Felix said as he saluted and left the tent.
"It seems there are many powers in this Ohomo Star." Felix was in deep contemplation while walking back to his tent.
Suddenly, his mental energy detected a mild killing intent in the air.
"What"s this?" Felix used space law to travel fast, as dark spells hid him in the darkness of the night.
"Assassins!" Felix was disturbed to see so many Demigods.
He quickly took out a messenger rat from his ring and set it to travel to Captain Goldfield with this information.
A small teleportation spell lit up on the rat's back as it vanished.
Soon, Felix heard an alarm going through the camp as the squad mobilized against the enemy.
Felix remained hidden as he flew up to look at the general situation.
Death energy appeared behind his neck, and he rushed to force the Primordial Star Chart to create a small metal sheet enveloped with space reinforcement.
"Have you never heard not to pry on a mage?" Felix said disdainfully.
"Kid, did your parents never teach you to maintain your bedtime?" A rough voice sounded from behind the metal sheet.
"You sure are the leader of these Assassin Corps." So Felix deduced as he could see everything in a mile radius with his mental forcefield.
"You know too much, child! Time to die."
Terrifying mental energy swept from the sky as three spell circles appeared in the sky.
Even the battle on the ground paused as they looked in shock at the blue, green, and white spell formations covering the whole camp.
"Captain Goldfield, there are no more enemies. So let's end this!" So Felix's voice sounded as he connected the three spells.
Captain Goldfield appeared to block the Assassin Leader.
Felix cast area of effect second-star healing formation spell and covered the camp. Then, he used his reserved mental energy to find and heal deadly wounds.
His enhanced spell circle for Void Pulse Blast was the other two spell formations. It quickly consumed his energy, but over fifty bubbles appeared and blasted towards enemies accurately.
The void blast killed most enemies in one hit, so other mages quickly regained control of the situation with fifty fewer enemies.
It took Goran and Captain Goldfield only a few minutes to round up all revealed assassins.
"We must change our location and report back to the Clan. It seems something has changed!" Captain Goldfield led the squad to the south, away from Capital.
"Hmm, this doesn't seem like the safest direction..." Felix thought and felt the weakness after such grand casting.
His foreboding of a trap didn't come to fruition, and they safely reached their new hideout.
"We will rest here till sunrise!" Captain Goldfield ordered.
"I should go recover. Others will deal with the injured." Felix was calmly looking around at the squad.
Soon, he fell asleep. Finally, the sun rose, and he arrived at Goldfield's Tent.
"Captain, did you inform the clan?" Felix inquired as he sat down.
"Yes, the first lieutenant, I already received our orders! Let's wait for everyone now."
Felix stayed composed, and soon everyone gathered.
"The War Council sent orders! God-King watches Saro Lent! We have to go to Lightsong Village. The other squads will form a battalion. It is a long journey, almost all around the Capital, so we leave in an hour!"
Their journey began and took almost twenty hours to reach the Lightsong Village in stealth.
"Everyone hide in the shadows!" Captain Goldfield ordered and entered the village alone.
After a few minutes, Felix saw a familiar face.
"Come, everyone. We have a secret underground base here!"
Felix followed everyone and quickly entered the underground through the cellar inside a tavern.
"Captain Goldfield, we will speak tomorrow. Now I want to speak with my grandson!" Abbadon smiled and turned to look at Felix.
"Hi, grandpa," Felix smiled, and they walked away from the crowd.
"Felix, I heard assassins ambushed you?" Abbadon asked.
"Yeah, but they were only demigods. I don't understand why they would use such low-grade cultivators?"
"Felix, I believe they forced you to flee or had no accurate intelligence! Whichever it is, it bodes problems to wait for General Feng's orders. So we will stay here, for now, go rest. I will send someone to inform you!" Abbadon patted Felix's back and went to talk with Captain Goldfield.
"Protector Abbadon, I heard you are the new Principle God, who was assigned to defend this portal!" Captain Goldfield smiled and shook hands with Abbadon.
"Yes, Captain Goldfield. I will take care of the portal. You take care of war orders! How did Felix perform? Was he useful?" Abbadon smiled.
"That kid has crazy senses. He was the one to discover the ambush, so I think he has already earned a lot of merits. Could you tell me how many squads responded to War Council orders?" Captain Goldfield was worried.
"This is not something to be talked about in the open. Let's go inside." Abbadon led Captain Goldfield in a private room, where some other Captains were waiting.
"From the hundred squads across the kingdom, we received responses from seventy-four captains. But, unfortunately, half of them are here, so that we will wait for longer!"
Abbadon said to Goldfield and sat down in the lotus position.
Soon, captains began their discussions, and time slowly passed.
Felix was already sleeping, as he still had not recovered all mental energy after the ambush.
They waited for three days until the last response squad arrived at this hideout.
"Soon, General Feng will send orders. We must be patient!"
Felix was fully recovered by now and used his spare time to research information, socialize or cultivate.
Abbadon gathered everyone's attention as he rang a bell.
"Captain Feng is sending someone through the portal. Everyone assembles the formation."
The underground hideout was spacious, so over fifty full squads easily fit here.
Felix stood behind his captain, together with other lieutenants, and waited.
Soon, the portal flashed, and a man in War Council Official uniform appeared.
"Hello, I am Third Elder of War Council Edgar Torski! General Feng sends the order to gather around the Capital three days from now! We will conquer the Green Python's Cult headquarters and save Taro Lents squad survivors. Mage Corps will be on standby if we need firepower! That is all!" The third Elder gave the orders and went back through the portal.
"Captain Goldfield, Captain Zephyria, Captain Arfin! You have the only mage squads, go and discuss your structure. Others prepare for battle!" Abbadon looked at everyone, and as the highest-ranked officer, completed the assembly.
As Captain Goldfield and the other captains, Felix had no chance to think and took all the mages to the adjacent hall.
"Captains, I think we should use a hundred strongest mages to form a group formation spell!" Arfin said with a confident voice.
"We have little time to train, but I think it's the best form of attack these recruits could complete."
"Then let's begin choosing the main point holders!" Captain Goldfield said.
"Fine, we will need six powerful mental energy wielders!" Captain Zephyria looked at more than one hundred mages.
Soon, she and Captain Arfin chose four Titled Mages to hold the formation eyes.
"I will recommend Felix and Goran! My Lieutenants!" Goldfield said with confidence.
The other two captains looked at Goran with a nod, but Felix was just an Inner World Creation stage child.
"Captain Goldfield, it isn't a place for a child to uphold such a serious position!" Captain Zephyria frowned.
"Ask Goran. He felt this kid's mental power with his lifeforce! I doubt that even a peak Titled God has as much energy as Felix!" Goldfield was very adamant.
"Fine, let's see!" Zephyria harumphed and forced her mental energy on Felix.
Sadly, Felix was constantly revolving Primordial Star Chart for her, so the backlash was instant.
Everyone heard a small ding as Captain Zephyria and Felix stepped back.
"He is very suitable! I agree with Goldfield!" Zephyria smiled after she felt the power of this backlash.
"Okay, listen up!" Captain Arfin clapped and gathered everyone's attention.
"We will use Three Chants Formation! Thirty-three people will be responsible for each part, and two magi will act as leading formation masters! We already picked, so I will let Zephyria explain how this formation works!"
Zephyria stepped up and began explaining.
"Three Chants Formation has three chants for three groups! And all groups share the same energy! It holds healing chant, earthen gravity chant, and wind scythe chant! When the groups chant their music magics, as long as the formation has enough power!" Zephyria smiled and sent them the diagrams.
"Now, the two masters of their group will have to look around and use the spells where they are needed! Now go and practice!"
Felix went to study this formation spell, as it was his first group cast.
In the meantime, outside the Ohomo Star, three people group was looking towards Felix's hideout.
"Sieg, are you sure you need to test this child? You know that reincarnations are to be left alone! That is ancestral teachings." Empress Xi had some worry in her voice.
"Empress Xi, this child is an asset I want to cultivate for the Clan! I believe he has the potential of a real powerhouse." Sieg smiled calmly.
"You two sure have much shit to say..." The third man said with a disgusted expression.
"Third Gatekeeper doesn't need to be so uncouth. We mean no harm." Sieg was direct but still had deferential politeness.
"Shut up! You want to see if he has the heart to fight for the Clan! I understand. However, if he is in danger, I will take him away! Ancestor Heaven's Wheel stated clearly that the karmic backlash reincarnations killing would bring is catastrophic to anyone! Now go and check on those weasels from that madhouse!"
The third man, who wore a tunic and had a huge key on his back, almost shouted. His attitude was unbearable.
"Now, little reincarnation, show me what kind of person you are..." Third Gatekeeper sighed and took out some food and wine as he observed everything.
Felix was reading the formation charts studiously. However, he felt an uneasy feeling.
"Is there some perverts looking creepily? Eh..." Felix muttered barely audibly.
He didn't know that his murmur of complaint had made an absolute powerhouse spit his wine in shock.
