The next thing I knew, a pain hit me harder than anything I'd ever felt in my life.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH." I cried out.
"Shhhh baby. I know that I'm asking a lot of you right now, but you have to be quiet."
"I know." I sobbed. "But this shit hurts, baby."
I could feel my body shake from all the pain that it was enduring and then I suddenly felt the need to push.
I looked at Ken with tears streaming down my face and nodded at him.
He looked at me like he was confused until realization hit him.
"Now?" He whispered.
I nodded. "Now."
He quickly got behind me and tried everything he could to help me deliver this baby.
I wanted to yell and scream at the top of my lungs to try and make the pain stop but I knew it would cause me more harm than good.
The pain was becoming unbearable but by the sixth push, I felt my body relax.
I turned around and looked at my mate holding our little cub in his hands.
He looked up at me with tears in his eyes and smiled.
"She looks just like you." I felt another tear trickle down my face as I processed what he said.
"It's a girl?" I asked as I crawled over to them.
He nodded and placed her in my arms. I could feel her shivering and I immediately held her closer to me…trying to give her some of my body heat.
"Don't worry, she'll be fine. I'm going to get both of you to a safe place soon."
I nodded…never taking my eyes off of my daughter.
"She's…" I started.
"A disgrace to the pack." I heard Jaime's taunt beside us.
Ken immediately became defensive and on guard. He changed back into his wolf before I could even process that we'd been found.
Jaime let out a shrilling sound that alerted everyone to where we were.
I looked at Ken and waited for him to tell me what to do.
He glanced at me and nodded.
I knew what it meant but it broke my heart. I have never left Ken to fight on his own, but I knew that I had to do it now.
I put my baby on the cold grass and quickly changed into my wolf. I picked her up as softly as I could with my teeth and ran faster than I'd ever ran before.
It wasn't long before I felt a pain overtake my heart.
I knew what it was, and I fell as soon as I felt it.
My Ken, my love, my mate…they killed him. This type of pain only comes from a lose and I knew I had lost my mate.
I wanted to cry and go back to him but as soon as I saw my baby's wide honey brown eyes, I knew I had to keep going….for her.
I got up and ran faster and faster until…
"No more running! You will face your fate tonight."
I looked around but I couldn't see anyone even though I knew they were there.
I was panicking and running out of time. I needed to hide her.
I saw a small little opening in the tree beside me and gently placed her inside.
I looked down at her and felt the tears trickling down my face.
"I love you, little one. You will do great things. Show them who you are. No matter what they may say, you were always wanted." I said in a mindlink to her.
The next thing I knew, I was being dragged out of the tree by Jaime's teeth.
I looked up and couldn't understand how I got here. I was completely surrounded, and I knew that this was it.
"I did nothing wrong!" I yelled.
"But you did! And tonight, you will pay."
All at once, they pounced on my wolf and tore pieces of fur and skin off of me.
As they were piercing my skin with their teeth, I looked over to where my daughter was and saw that bitch take her from the spot that I had put her in.
The cowardly bitch smiled as she looked over at me and saw my lifeless body melting into the ground.
I let one last tear fall before succumbing to the inevitable.
