Chapter 24 - podes ir

The next day came and I went to work again. It was less busy than the day before so I made way less money. I bought some sweets and water then went back. Pearl had also had a bad day and made about five. I did my workout again then did a run around town. Theseus had gone out to hunt because he said he preferred it over buying food which I found extremely wierd. I began practising the stance again which I could do a bit better than before. He finally came back and put a big animal leg in a room then came back. "Now, I'll teach you to swing a sword" he said getting a wooden sword. "You may think that you just drag your hand but no, that takes too much time and energy" he said demonstrating the wrong way. I was a bit surprised because that's what I used to do. "Instead, you do a half swing and thrust your arm forward which is quicker and takes less stamina, now you try". I nodded and tried to do it but did a full swing.

He left the room and left me to practise. I failed time and time again. I once again gave up and went to sleep. Since I couldn't swing properly, he didn't give me another lesson and eventually I gave up on swordsmanship. I couldn't do it but I'm sure that I was good at other things, after all I'm a hero who will change the world. I kept on doing the workout because it didn't require technique and was gonna work and after a month, I wasn't skinny anymore but I wasn't muscular either. I decided to keep on relying on my brain in fights and luck like before, it savedme many times before and with a six pack, I'd be immortal. And so like that, five months passed.

One day Theseus said, "Do you wanna go on a journey with me". I was a bit surprised because normally it was me who said that but I said, "Yea ok". I went to get the others and so we set out for Athens. We had to go by boat which took three days. It was a nice journey and there were only fifty other people on the boat. We arrived in some sort of grassland and in the distance there was a house. We sets a camp near the dock and slept in sleeping bags.

The next morning came and we went hunting for a bit which was more effective because Theseus was better than me and Han by far. We went towards the house to ask for directions but when the door opened, instead of the senile old man we'd expected, we were greeted by a man whose head overlapped the door frame. "Oh hello, how can I help you" he said in a friendly tone. I was a bit relieved and Theseus said, "can we get directions for Athens?". The man paused as if trying remember. "Ah yes, I have a map, you can have it if you want" he said ushering us into his house. I prepared my knife because it was a bit suspicious and hearing the sound of the door locking solidified my ideas. Now then, get on the bed. He said raising his hands. I threw my knife at his hand. It pierced through and blood gushed out from his wound but he kept on smiling. He pulled it out and threw it onto the ground. "Now, who'd like to go first" he said walking towards us. "How about you" he said looking at me. I backed away and took off my bag. I got a deer leg and raised it. "That won't stop me" he said speeding up. I threw it at him and barged through the others. I looked around the room and found an iron pole. The others spread out and he kept walking towards me. I bashed his stomach and Theseus stabbed his back. He coughed blood and it seemed to hurt him. He pushed the pole back and I fell onto the ground. Han stabbed him in the stomach and he stumbled back. He pulled out their swords and span them around and threw them onto the walls.

I got back up and ran around him while he was distracted. I got my knife and put it in the hollow pole so it became a sort of spear. As he turned to me, I shoved it into his stomach. He coughed up blood and stumbled back. I pushed it forward until it came out of the other end of his body. His eyes widened and he fell to the ground, dead. I'd killed him. Han and Theseus got up and were surprised seeing him slouched over like that. I looked around the one room. There were two wooden beds with no cushions or pillows. The smaller bed had four harpoons on each corner and the big one had a cutting board near the end and two red buckets on the ground. Next to the beds was a small table and on them was a map. I got it and it had three points. "Trozoe, my house and Athens". I turned to the others and showed it to them. "Nice, turns out he did have a map!" exclaimed Theseus. Athens was still far away so we decided to go to the forest nearby to search for water and so we could rest there. Three hours went by and we still hadn't found any water, only pits of mud drained of everything. "Let's just sleep here, we'll continue tomorrow" said Theseus. We made a camp and slept there for the day.

The next day came and we set out again. For the first few our, we searched for water but eventually gave up. We had to go back to the docks to get water and got enough for around a week. The Athenian grounds were rough
