He took a trident out from his spine and winded his fist back. He threw the trident straight into it's skull. The kraken shrieked and sank onto King Triton. He grabbed one of it's tentacles and span it around. He then threw it away from the kingdom. The people began chanting, "Praise the King!" as he descended back down to the city. The crowd separated to make space for him and the guards surrounded him as he did the hand signs. I looked to the direction where the kraken fell and saw some people swimming towards it. "Let's get some of the grand Kraken's meat" said two people running to that directions. I followed the crowd towards the kraken and found out that you could walk through a tunnel which led to the water. I held my breath and swam towards the kraken. I quickly cut a piece of it's meat then swam back.
I accidentally cut the acidic part and put some in the bag I'd used for shopping. I went over to the handy store and got a little storage box which wasted all of the money I'd saved. I then got an idea. I could play my songs and since these people where completely isolated from the world, the new styles of music were probably different. I did the signs and went to the castle. I git my guitar then came back to play music. I played the songs I'd learnt in Thebes which were rarer since Thebes was now destroyed. Suddenly, someone said, "Are you from the upper world?". I turned and saw a short old man with a pointy red nose staring at me. "Yea but how did you know?" I asked.
"You don't have gills and there's stories of the upper world in our literature" he said stepping closer to me. "How did you know about the Upper world, I thought this kingdom had been underwater for a while?" I asked stepping away.
"I'll tell you later but assuming you're going to return to the upper world, would you like to learn some of our songs before you leave?" he asked stepping back and reaching into his long bag. He took out a guitar and began to play a tune. He began to dance as the tempo increased and closed his eyes. He finished and gave me the guitar sheets. "I'll leave this to you, spread word of Atlanta to the world, farewell!" he said walking away. I went back to the castle and began practising. It was way harder than I thought it'd be and I got it wrong but kept practising until night fell. We'd be departing tomorrow according to Theseus through the big run down tunnel which existed for ships centuries ago.
Morning came and we got on the boat again. "The tunnel's on the other side" said the guide steering the boat. Half an hour went by and we came to a stop. In front of us was a girl about fifteen or so. "Who are you!" shouted Theseus. She looked more like us than the citizens and had long blonde hair which reached her feet. "Take me with you" she said quietly.
"Answer me first, who are you!" he said taking out his weapon. She lifted her head and we saw her face. We expected her to be some poor person with sunken eyes and many other health issues but she was the complete opposite which caught Theseus off guard. "I am Ariadne of Crete!" she shouted. "But Crete is deserted, are you lying to me?" shouted Theseus confused.
"Yes it is but before last year, there was a civilisation there but Dionysus destroyed it" she said. Theseus put his weapon back and paused to think. "We'll let you on but if you're lying then we'll send you back here" he said lowering the ladder. She climbed on and we distanced our selves from her. "Come with me" said Theseus leading her down the stairs. I went down into my room and played the song again.
An hour went by and we reached the tunnel. The spearmen's voices echoed through the tunnel. I went to sleep and when we awoke, we were in a bubble tunnel to the surface. As we reached the surface, the bubble closed. I looked out of the window and in the distance, there was a small post. It was stuck onto something beneath the water we couldn't see. Suddenly, I heard a scream. I ignored it and squinted. Under the water was, a monster which looked like a crocodile. I rushed up and shouted, "Don't go near the post!". The ship steered away from the post. "I know, I see it, it's Sebek's pet"
I went back down and practised the song which I'd gotten better at then before. It had became boring again. I laid down and closed my eyes. After we returned, I'd go to find my mom but I needed a map or something to find out how to sneak to my house. I needed to see Herma again to ask him but usually it took multiple months which I was not willing to waste in Athens. I remembered my phone but I had no numbers on it and Herma was probably in Thebes or somewhere else. Thebes was however extremely far away and I'd take a year by boat to get there. The only way was to use the prize money from killing the Minotaur to go by plane. That and the blacksmith rope would leave me with nothing. I sighed and drifted off to sleep and so, the journey to Crete had ended.
