Chapter 34 - Nao consigo ir sobre ti

I got off the boat and swam over to the shore. There were people working on the tower so I waited and dried myself off. I'd been here before but didn't even remember this. Two hours passed by and the voices finally disappeared. I climbed the hill and crouched down to get a view of the city. It was all in ruins and there were vehicles picking up the rubble. I tried to find the park but heard voices and slid down the hill into the rubble. I fell on my face and injured one of my eyes. I closed it but it still hurt and spent the night in the rubble.

Morning came and I got back up. There were no voices so I moved forwards. There were a few buildings that were still standing so I kept close to them for when the workers came. I took out the map and saw where my house was according to Delaever. I was in the middle and my house was just next to the left tower so I'd probably reach the place at night or tomorrow if I kept moving at this pace.

By seven, I could see the left tower and my house. I jumped out of the window and ran towards the hill. Suddenly, I was hit in my back and fell to the ground. "Found you!" said a man putting his foot on my back and pinning me down. I took out the knife from my pocket and stabbed his foot. He fell to the ground but took out a pistol. I threw my knife and it killed him instantly. I turned back and ran away. All I cared about was finding my mom. It was getting closer and closer. Luckily, my house was still standing. I barged through the door and shouted, "Mom!". I sped across the house, shouting out her name but didn't find her. I went into her room and saw a picture of a younger me and her. I touched it and seemed to press a button. The floor slid open and I plummeted underground.

I fell into a room with one candle besides a small book. I stepped towards and held it up to the book. I skimmed over to the first page and it said, "Hello my son Kati, this is a book of truth about you and the world around you, read only this and the next page, the rest is just a diary". I flipped the page over confused. "First of all, you are not human, you are a being of me and your father's love, I probably should've told you this before but forgive me". I took a moment to process this. What is a being. I had no abilities, nothing made me any different from a human but mom wouldn't lie. I opened the book and continued reading, "You have no abilities but instead are immune but anyways, about me and your father, I am a Godess and so is your father". Once again, I stopped. This wasn't making sense. How was I a being when they were Gods. Through my confusion, I looked back at the book, "You also have a brother who is probably in the underworld with your father, he's your age since you two were born at the same time and has red hair resembling your father's". This was a bit more processable but I was still confused about myself. I looked at the book and written in red was, "By the time you find this, I'm dead by your uncle, King of Thebes". My heart sank and I dropped my candle. There are some things that I'd rather not hear.

I left the house with a pain in my heart. That bastard. I swam back to the boat and locked the cabin. I took out a packet of cigarettes that Herma had dropped before and lit it up. I turned the boat and leaned back. A storm came up but I didn't bother to do anything, I just stared into the void ahead of me. People hammered the glass, worried for their life. I kept puffing and ignored their cries. I was gonna kill the King of Thebes no matter what, a storm would not stop me. The whole night, I did not sleep planning my revenge. I would return to Athens and ask for an army then go to the underground city. That would still dwarf the size of Thebes so I planned to put some posters up and recruit in other countries then I'd finally invade Thebes and personally kill the King for all he'd done.

The weeks went by and I returned to Athens. I didn't expect to return to this place but here I was. I went up to the castle and saw the guards. They recognized me by now and let me in. "You're here again Taragmenos, I thought you were gonna live with your mother" said Theseus getting up from his throne. "She's dead, I've come here to ask you for an army".

"Oh, sorry about that, I can give you a bit of my army but why do you need it?" he asked looking at me confused. "To kill the one who killed my mom, King of Thebes and the grand elder" I said. He stopped to think. "Okay but never tell anyone that I gave you the army or else we'll be invaded and probably lose to Thebes and it's allies". I nodded and left the room. I couldn't get over her.
