Morning came and we set out again. We spent five hours walking to the gate and when it reached half past, we arrived. The doors were wide open and there were no guards. As we walked in, the people distanced themselves from us. I looked up at the big stone tower and saw a figure looking down at us. He realised I was looking at him and went inside. I looked back forward and searched for a place which looked like a town hall. I found nothing. I walked towards a woman near me and asked , "Where can I get a house?". She didn't respond and backed away in fear. I turned to someone else but they averted their gaze and looked at the floor. What a weird place.
I sighed and kept walking forward. Suddenly a man with a black robe appeared in front of us. "Come in, I am the leader of this place" he said. I followed him, secretly putting my knife in my pocket. We climbed the red coloured stairs. "Sit down" he said closing the curtains. We sat down in the three chairs and he stayed up. He suddenly raised his hand and shouted, "Die you son of a devil!". Suddenly a beam shot out and went through my thigh. I stumbled up and threw my knife at him. It pierced through his hand but he ignored the pain and pulled it out. Suddenly, the knife grew out of his hands. He charged towards me as I fell from pain. Han took out his sword and blocked the knife. I crawled out of the room and tumbled down the stairs. Pearl was waiting at the door for some reason so I crawled back up. When I came back, I saw a knife in Han's waist.
I used the door frame to get up and stumbled towards them. Han pushed his sword into his thigh and I picked up my knife. I shoved it into his head. He didn't react which confirmed my theory that he wasn't human. I took my knife out and kept stabbing him. He didn't react and kept trying to stuff his knife into Han's belly. Han kept on putting his knife into his thigh and it was working unlike my attempts. After a bit more, the man fell. Han shoved his sword into his head thus finishing him. "Who is he?" I asked falling back down. He didn't respond and instead picked me up and walked down the stairs. People started flocking around us and an old man offered to heal me.
"Did you kill Ares?" he asked patching me up. Han nodded and I tried to go to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night inside an empty room. The walls were completely white and in the distance, I could see a figure. I stood up and stumbled towards it, as I came closer, it pushed me away and covered it's face in fear. I laid back down and woke up again in another land. It was the park again. Besides me, my mother sat drawing the roses in front of us. I laid back down and stared into the sky then woke up on the old man's stretcher. Han and Pearl were gone and I was inside a big room. This must've been his house so where was I before. Who was the figure that kept pushing me away. I fell back into sleep but didn't dream this time, I just woke up.
I got up and tried to find the others. They were still sleeping and the old man wasn't home. I got out and sat down on the chair. I looked at the people as they got up and went about living. Unlike the last group, they weren't smiling. The kids weren't playing around, some came out with shovels and some with leashes. I went back in and got my guitar. I looked at the people and played to the rhythm of the people digging holes and the farmers feeding their animals. The more people joined in, the faster I played. Was my pain much compared to what they'd felt for their lives. I at least got to enjoy most of my childhood but they were born with a shovel in their hand. Compared to that, I'd seen nothing. I stopped and got up. I walked through the town and looked around. Suddenly, the soldiers came in through the gate. One went inside the tower. Suddenly out of the window, the man Han had killed head was fit through the small window. His long black hair was tainted in red and his beard was bald in some areas. "Who has committed this act against the nation of Sparta!" shouted a voice. No one spoke so they soldiers drew their weapons. "If no one speaks, we will kill your children!". The people began to panic and some pointed at me. "So it was you who killed Ares" he said. The soldiers began chasing me and I ran out of the gate.
Han and Pearl came out but didn't follow me. It was better so that they weren't chased down either. I ran through the deserted lands surrounding the town. I looked back and they were still following me. I collapsed and breathed in heavily. I'd been stabbed in the leg so I couldn't run as much. I got up and kept on running. When I looked back, they'd split into four groups. I began to panic and the adrenaline kicked in. I sprinted faster than I'd ever done. Suddenly, I fell into a hole. I looked around confused at where I was. I was in a cave. The soldiers weren't around and there weren't any traps. I looked back up but couldn't climb up. I had an injured leg and it was too high up. I ventured further in and saw a torch. On the wall, there were paintings of a man with a boar's head.
