Chapter 22 - Surprising News

When Cyrene saw this, she took her bows and one of the silver-head arrows and aimed, but when the black wolf looked at her, the world stopped, and it was only her and the wolf.

Darrell could not believe his eyes. The source of the sweet smell was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

Cyrene could not believe herself. She wondered why she found a wolf attractive she had not felt the attraction like this before.

She had devoted her life to hunting. And she had always thought love was weakness, and so she did not allow herself to love.

On the other hand, Darrell was wondering how on earth he could have another mate, and making matters worse, and the second mate was a hunter.

They are supposed to be enemies, not mates. They stared into each other's eyes, not believing that this was happening to them. She lost the grip of her bow and arrow.

The sound of the arrows hitting the ground was the one that made them snap out of their little staring competition.

That's when Darrell remembered that the smell was the one that was lingering in the air where her wife was lying wounded.

After he remembered that he saw red, he went charging to his wife's killer, not giving her time to pick her bow and arrows that were on the ground.

When Cyrene saw this, she took her ring daggers from the inside pockets of the leather jacket she was wearing, and she started running towards him with her ring dagger raised, ready to strike.

There were bodies beside them, and all they seemed to notice at the time as they angrily tried to kill each other.

Darrell was snapping his teeth at the huntress, who was swinging her daggers around as she tried to get a better position for her to stab the wolf. They continued going in rounds.

That is when his beta decided to mind-link him the information about the parent of Cyrene. This made him become distracted a little, and that was what took Cyrene to get the moment she had been waiting. She raised her dagger to strike.

Too engrossed in their fight, they did not notice an old lady chanting a spell in the bush near them. A blinding white light appeared between them, and the next thing, Cyrene started feeling dizzy, and she fell to the ground.

And as quick as the light had appeared, it disappeared. Darrell looked around for the huntress that was ready to stab him to death, but she was nowhere to be found. Realizing that was probably the work of a witch, he howled loudly that the whole shook every werewolf that was alive started retreating back to the forest. And the vampires followed them as they dripped blood.

They met the other werewolves where they were holding Arawn and Jumanah captive.

Darrell thanked Melvyn and his gang of vampires for the work they had done.

"I thought we were going to kill every last one of them. I was really enjoying back there." Asked Melvyn as he wiped his bloody mouth with a white handkerchief.

"Yeah, we had agreed on that, but then I just found out who attacked my wife, but as I was about to kill her, she was whisked by some kind of magic. There would be no point in going on with the war while our main intention would not be fulfilled, and we were losing some of our people in that war. So I saw it would be good if we stopped the war because we now have their leader in our hand, and soon they come looking for their leaders." Darrell explained.

After hearing this, the vampires went back to their home, and the wolves took home the two prisoners and their wounded members, who were taken directly to the pack hospital to be treated.

After the prisoners were securely detained in the pack dungeon.

BLOOD MOON PACK...

Darrell went back to his mate's special ward. He pulled a chair and sat next to his wife, holding one of her hands.

Immediately their hands touched he was taken out of the room in what seemed to be a dream he saw himself if a field that was full of flowers he then saw a woman in a white gown standing with her back facing him he walked slowly to her she was and tapped her shoulder, and when the woman turned to face him, she saw it was his grandmother Audrey, but she looked like she was just eighteen years old.

"Hello, son. I know you were wondering why I called you here and at this time. I have been sent by the moon goddess herself to warn you that your mate Katherine will die, but you should not be worried because, as you have seen like your father, you have two mates." Audrey started to explain to her son.
