Chapter 18 - Long Years of Conflict

"I don't need to have a personal vendetta towards you, Lord Melvyn, for me to tell you to reign in your Vampires properly!" She yelled in anger.

"Very good! Are you looking for a fight? It's been long since I had a battle with a little witch," Melvyn said, his voice dripping venom as his fangs elongated, and his eyes turned black with red vein showing ready to bit Ursula.

When Ursula saw this, she immediately cast a spell before she raised her hand to throw Melvyn into a nearby huge tree.

Of course, that would not really harm the old Vampire. It would only bid time for the other witches to set up a protection spell.

"Your Vampire came after one of my witches wanting to drain her blood and that of her son. And to make matters worse, they were attacked in my land. We had made an agreement not to cross each other's borders, and when one does so, they will have to ask for permission from the other. Maybe you should learn to leash your dog!" Ursula shouted angrily.

Still, the time Ursula has used to delay the Vampires was not enough.

Reece, who was using his vampire speed to where she was and was about to, snapped her head and took a deep bite.

"Don't kill her! Reece, stand down!" Melvyn commanded in anger.

Thankfully, Reece stopped. Though unhappy, Reece released Ursula and stepped away from the witch leader.

The witches watched in horror as their leader was about to be torn apart by the black Vampire earlier.

So when Reece moved away, they refocused their minds and energy to continue enchanting a spell.

Soon they were surrounded by flames that could cost any vampires to start burning immediately.

Melvyn glared at the witches before he glared at Reece.

He then released a heavy sigh, "Let's go." He commanded before he disappeared.

As soon as the Vampires left, Ursula kneeled on the ground. She seemed to be wounded on her sides. The blood gushes out of it so much that Gillian feels terrified by just seeing it.

"I'm sorry. We are incompetent..." Gillian said as she fell on her knees beside her sister.

"Don't blame yourselves. The Vampires never wanted to kill me, but as long as I am around, Melvyn would want not to stop causing us trouble," Ursula whispered as she looked at the sky with a strange expression.

"Sister, why are you speaking like that? The oath is still there-"

"The oath is just there, so Vampires could not kill us. Also, if not for our sister-" Ursula pursed her lips before she shook her head, refusing to speak further.

Gillian was still young at that time and knew nothing about the oath with the Vampires.

There was a huge price to pay for a Vampire as strong and old as Melvyn to agree to the oath. How could he let him know the truth behind it?

She did not expect that Melvyn would act this way as if he wanted to know. He had always been carefree with them and never showed any interest in it before.

However, Ursula knew what she needed to do to stop him.

"Gillian, I will need to rest for a long time to heal. I also need to research more about the bullet. I need you to take care of the coven in the meantime," Ursula said.

"Sister? Where are you going?" Gillian asked in confusion.

"Be good. Every one of you," Ursula said before she turned into multiple ravens and flew away from them...

The news regarding the witches and vampires after the meeting was not a secret. Some already anticipated it at one point.

However, in the Blood Moon Pack where it happened, the werewolves could not really be bothered by it since just a few hours after the incident, their Luna passed away.

Less than a year after, in the Arawn Clan…

It was during the night of the full moon. In the Arawn clans, the hunters that had finished their training were to be crowned today's night.

During this night, they were usually present before the other clan members to be given blessings by the adults.

Every group has to learn a new tactic to use for hunting. They usually do this ceremony in the clan's amphitheater. Other hunter clans also came to congratulate them. Everyone was seated in the small amphitheater.

Arawn and his family were seated at a podium and were giving a speech. On their left was the group that had finished their training. They were seated according to the skills earned.

On the highest seats were the gunmen, deadeye, snipers, riflemen and riflewomen, the gunners, and the archers.

On the second row were the straight shooters and the dead shot markswomen sharpshooter and crack shooter. And on the first row were the combat masters. They all had a different color of the uniform.
