Basil looked at everyone in the room, knowingly, "Should I remind you all more regarding this? Do I need to explain further?" He asked.
"Yes, go on. You can explain more. We have all the time in the world," Melvyn said with a clear interest in his eyes.
Basil resisted the urge to glare at the Lord of the Vampires. He knew that Melvyn was looking at this as a form of entertainment.
Nevertheless, the werewolves still needed the Vampires' help. That was aside from the fact that
Melvyn himself was not someone they could just offend or could easily challenge.
Basil nodded, "Of course, Lord Melvyn." He acknowledged before continuing, "Everyone, we are proposing to take down the Arawn clan not only because of what happened. We believe that they are planning something bigger."
Ursula frowned, "Bigger plans? So what if they do? The treaty should be enough for them not to make any drastic move against us. What if this is just something personal? What if that hunter was someone who just wanted to target your clan? Not to mention it happened within your territory. If I were you, it is best to check for traitors first before calling for this Lordcil," She pointed out harshly.
Darrell heard that and could not help but glare at the Witch leader. Basil placed his hand on Darrell's shoulders before he squeezed it, assuring.
"Leader Ursula, you have a point. However, we cannot afford what-ifs when related to hunters. Regarding how the hunter managed to get into our territory, we, of course, could not dismiss the possibility of the traitor. We are already doing our own personal investigation." He explained.
"Aha!" Melvyn shouted with his eyes laced with unmasked anticipation, "Alpha Basil, you seem to be telling us that you have proof that the Hunters wanted war?"
Basil nodded before he gave shifted to Clive. The beta acknowledges before he hands over stacks of paper towards a pack warrior and distributes it to the leaders in the room.
Basil allowed the other to look at the file first. He expected them to be surprised as well as worried, and he was not wrong.
"These are the components of the bullet found on my son's mate. Though it mostly has a high-quality silver, one component was something that we have not seen before."
Darrell frowned. His father only mentioned earlier that the bullet is made of a special type of silver that is not easy to find or produce. Yet, there was more to it?
It seems the other leaders were also thinking the same thing as they looked at the files that they had.
Aside from the information on the components, there was a picture of the bullet as well.
"This..." Ursula could not help but look at the photo with disbelief.
Basil noted her soft voice, "What do you think, Leader Ursula? We probably just missed something-"
"I want to see this bullet!" Ursula yelled demandingly, cutting him off. She was already standing from her seat and looking at him with urgency.
"Of course. Beta Clive," Basil called out. Clive took out a small box from his briefcase before he approached Ursula.
She waved her hand towards them, "Continue talking. I will need more time to check this. No need to bother me for now," Ursula said without looking. She was already focused on the bullet.
With that, Basil spoke again, "Regardless of the reason for Hunters attacking us, there is still no guarantee that they won't do it to others. I doubt that any of you want to live with the possibility that anytime hunters will visit and might kill one of your people or even your loved ones."
"I guarantee you vampires will not have an easy time looking for food, and you witches will not be so free to do your rituals and practice anywhere without the fear of being prosecuted by them," Basil continued.
"I think you are the only one who can't take down the hunters. I am sure, for us vampires, we can take them without needing your help at any point," Myles said, earning a growl from the werewolves in the room and a scowl from his Lord Melvyn.
"Thank you for your vote of confidence, Myles," Melvyn still said to him instead of reprimanding, "I hope our other clan members think the same as you. At most, it would lessen the possibility of dying because of hunger. Isn't that wonderful? I won't get petty complaints about the wrong territory to hunt," He casually spoke to Myles, who could not get paler for getting his Lord's attention.
Myles realized that the Vampire leader was taunting him. He then remembered the recent issue with clan members hunting on territories that witches forbade them to step on.
He tried to explain himself, "My Lord, that is not-"
