Passing by the buildings he noticed a piece of paper glowing a dim red color. It stuck out to him, although it was placed inside a book.
No one was around so Gerrik decided to bring the book with him, not noticing a note slipping out and falling to the ground.
the note had a simple drawing of a child and a cape.
the mug paid no mind to the slip of yellow paper that fell out and they soon arrived at the main office.
The building was a non-descript square building and inside was no warmer than being outside. A simple folding desk and chair sat in the middle of the room with two doors closed. One red and one yellow with lines on the ceiling and the floor leading to them.
"Hello", a yellow pencil said in a long-drawn and saddened tone.
The mug twisted a little, gesturing as if to wave at the pencil.
"Mr. Best was it?", the yellow pencil said to the mug.
"Arrived on Wednesday, storehouse location near the imagination district.", the pencil said outloud scribbling something on a black notebook.
nearby a stuffed animal and a colorful kids pencil box sat neatly.
"Hey pencil, my names Gerrik", Mr. Forcheese shyly introduced himself.
"Mmm... newcomer, the stone from the book store told me about you. Chedrome was busy printing more copies of pages and flyers at Kinkos.", the pencil replied
"What's you're name Mr. pencil.", Gerrik asked.
"The name's Milton, previously an economist with some poetry on the side. Now I do recording keeping and go over old chess games.
Nezmedinov and Morphy like to play on Sundays", the pencil introduced a little about himself.
"Now what do you two remember?", the pencil started to bring out a green ledger.
(Robert Knight enteres)
at this moment a scuffly man with a long blue scarf walked in,
"Robert", the pencil greeted him.
"Milton", the man nodded back.
noticing the two spirits in the room Robert gestures toward Gerrik and the mug to follow.
Walking into the red door Robert said, "Hello you two, I'm Mr. Knight. Milton's volunteered a few days to gather information, but he doesn't intend to stay. it's a shame, but it seems he has found something elsewhere."
They passed by a few dimly lit offices filled with computers and cubicles into an office space. The place is quite empty even though they're so many rooms. Photocopiers and the break room are visible as is the darkened meeting room.
"So what brings you here today?", Mr. Knight asked the pair.
the mug took over, "Sir we're new to this place and -"
Robert clapped loudly and cut him off, "Say no more. I've got an idea!"
"Since Milton is leaving, you should accompany him. He should be finishing up the records before he leaves. If you hurry back you'll be able to catch him before he leaves."
Gerrik was slightly confused by such an abrupt offer, but the mug seemed to have noticed something and headed out the door.
Gerrik not wanting to be left behind by his new companion, followed him with a confused look on his face.
"Why did we leave?", Gerrik said to the mug.
the mug didn't say much.
Looking around, they seemed to have walked a far distance. However Gerrik didn't recall the entrance taking so long to get to.
The mug started to run and Gerrik accompanied him. The mug was spilling coffee as it started to speed up.
Soon they saw Milton gathering a cardboard box of personal belongings and go out the side door. Gerrik and the mug left as well.
Gerrik called out, "Heyyy, Milton!"
Milton stopped and turned around, "???"
the mug pulled out a blue note from beneath him. Various scribbles appeared and Milton seemed to know what it was.
