There are a lot of people in the world who look the same and she also met some. Hence, Angie tried to deny the possibility of the man in bed as Zach Rainford which caused her to believe that it was just an accident and forget about it.
That was until she met Zach at the Rainford family's residence. Angie realized that he was truly her daughter's father. It was a lie to say she didn't hate him for what he had done to her but she didn't regret having her daughter.
Still, Angie instantly felt frightened and wary of him, just like when the Rainford family unexpectedly acknowledged that their son was her daughter's biological father.
Despite their assurances that they wouldn't seize the child from her without her friendly permission or by force, she was fearful that Zach, as the father, was thinking differently.
Hence, despite the DNA test as proof they presented, Angie still firmly denied Zach being her daughter's father. This includes the proposal to marry him.
Even if they had a child, both of them don't love each other. What if Zach later met someone they truly love? Wouldn't it only affect the child, unlike her ex-husband whom her daughter thought to be her father?
The child might also get confused and feel she was not wanted. Hence, these are sufficient reasons for Angie not to get entangled with the Rainford family.
"Child, I know you might hate my son for what happened, but he tried his best to find you at that time." Mrs. Rainford suddenly said as she took Angie's other hand while explaining.
Unfortunately, Angie didn't respond. Her face shows respect to these elders, but her eyes conveyed she was uncomfortable talking about this matter.
Mrs. Rainford knew she needed to do something for her son, thus, she didn't notice Angie's uncomfortable gaze when she added.
"Anna should have already informed you that Zach didn't even see you when he woke up. It also seemed like you weren't aware of it, do you remember what happened?"
Angie suddenly felt stiff and Zach didn't fail to notice her strange reaction. "Mom, let's not talk about this. It doesn't matter anymore, what's important is we found them."
Mrs. Rainford finally catches a glimpse of her strange behavior. "Sorry, then when are you going to take Zsazsa here? Angie, I hope you won't reject us to meet my granddaughter."
"We will meet Angie's parents first," Zach responded, tightening his grip on Angie's soft hand before glancing sideways to check her reaction.
Seeing her remained frozen, Zach added with conviction. "Don't worry, they have the right to know the truth and I'll be responsible to face their anger."
'I'll make sure that her ex-husband needed to explain why she suddenly disappeared before I even woke up.' Zach added in his mind.
His face darkened while thinking, 'I need to know why my wife was firm to believe he was the father of my child!'
Although Zach heard from Anna that Angie didn't have any physical activities with her ex-husband, he still couldn't accept that the man took everything that should belong to him.
He should have been there to take care of her when she was pregnant with their child, not that man!
He should have accompanied her when she was to give birth, take care of their child and watch his daughter grow up, and not that man!
Most of all, Angie should have married him first, and not the man!
These thoughts keep on running into Zach's mind. His blue eyes turned cold and darker, while turbulent emotions were threatening to burst from deep within. Then, he suddenly thought,
'Mom said Anna spent months in P country with my wife. How come I only knew about everything yesterday??'
This sudden realization brought Zach to feel uncomfortable, creasing his brows.
'How come Anna was too lucky to find her after just arriving in P country for the first time and staying less than a month while I've been there countless times yet I never met her again?'
Zach suddenly felt resentful about his bad luck for not finding Angie all those years. On the other hand, Anna, who insisted on taking their cousin Harold to look for her, was so lucky to find his long-lost wife.
Not just that, they didn't just find his wife, but also his daughter! Zach felt his world was crumbling, thinking that he should be the person who found his wife and child.
'Is the heavens are against me? I can't even find and bring my wife and daughter back by my efforts! Or was it my punishment for what I did to her?'
While Zach was secretly complaining in his mind, Angie, who has been silent the whole time, could no longer sit still. Her mind was in a mess while thinking about how to stop them from meeting her mother.
As if perceiving Angie's discomfort, Zach came back to his senses, "Let's have lunch first. She's probably hungry now."
Hence, they all went to the dining room for their scrumptious lunch. Aside from the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Rainford, and the other two younger sons of the grandfather Rainford's and their family, everyone was present.
They secretly watch Zach being very attentive and careful of Angie while dining. His normal cold and expressionless face were the same but once he looked at his wife, it would seem he had been switched by a ghost.
This turned the whole of the Rainford family stupefied, especially Anna who had always been afraid of her older brother.
"No, I guess this person was a fake big brother of mine. Yes, definitely a fake one. He can't be the same big brother." Anna kept murmuring in disbelief before she froze.
Anna felt chill when two pairs of sharp eyes abruptly fell on her body. She made a sign like zipping her lips before continuing to eat silently.
She shuddered while thinking, 'I seemed to have made a big mistake letting my big brother discover my beloved sister! Her attention should have been mine!'
