Thinking his wife would point a gun at his head, Zach felt complicated. He knew that his wife doesn't have feelings for him, it would be no qualm if she could kill him without blinking.
It is not that he was afraid of his wife, but thinking Angie pointing a gun in his head while saying she wanted to leave him was very unacceptable.
What's worse, Angie might even use a gun to point straight at her head, threatening him she would kill herself if he would not let her leave or if she wanted a divorce.
These thoughts made Zach feel scared. He realized that there is something he needed to do and to prevent his wife from leaving him again.
However, he wouldn't dare to do something that could hurt his wife at all. That of course, aside from those moments when they are having intense exercises in bed.
"This is also why we didn't tell you about your wife and daughter. We are worried that her father is just around the corner, secretly watching his family." Mr. Raindford said with a dark face.
He caught a glimpse of unknown emotions on his eldest son's face. Mr. Rainford knew that Zach was probably thinking about his wife again, yet he could only helplessly sigh.
He suddenly realized that no medicine could cure his eldest son's stupidity.
"Who knew if your wife's father was truly a soldier. What if he was not missing and found out what you did to his beloved daughter?"
Then, Mr. Rainford finally confirmed that once they used 'your wife' to address Angie, his stupid eldest son Zach would instantly concentrate his attention on them.
This truly made him feel speechless. Mr. Rainford mumbled as he look at his stupid son with disdain.
"If I was her father, I wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet in your head. Who wants their eldest beloved princess to suddenly be eaten clean by an ugly and disgusting stupid pig."
"..." Zach was speechless while thinking, 'Why do I feel like this isn't my father? Or was my wife his daughter while I was picked up from the trash?'
'Well, I don't think that's possible.' He added as he looked at his father who had similar features as him. 'He is indeed my father, but why am I starting to doubt it?'
Poor Zach, he still didn't realize that his status in his father's heart was continuously plummeting more depth than before.
"Or what if Angie was taught how to use a gun? She might not hesitate to point it right through your head."
"Imagine a stupid ugly pig suddenly appeared saying that he were her daughter's biological father. It sounds very disgusting." Grandpa Raindford also added with scorn.
"..." Zach is now sure that his elders were against him.
He couldn't understand what his wife did for his elders to be very fond of her. Still, this made Zach feel a sudden dilemma that his wife might even dare ask his parents to throw him out of their bedroom.
"What about her ex-husband? Did you find out who he is? Did you try to investigate his background?" Zach asked while gritting his teeth, trying to divert their attention away from him.
His heart clenched after discovering his grandfather's face had unexpectedly turned dark. Zach felt nervous as he suddenly had a bad feeling.
He knew his grandfather which is why seeing that kind of expression caused his heart to beat so fast. He could guess that his rival was not an ordinary person.
What made it worse, he only knew that Angie and their child were with her husband for four years before getting a divorce. But he was very unsettled while thinking about where they had been during those periods.
"We couldn't find any information about him. His name doesn't appear in any government records. Not even a picture. He was like someone who never existed." Grandpa Rainford remarkably declared.
"The only news we got was that he met Angie when she was staying with her uncle. He had been accompanying your wife for two years until she returned home at the age of 16."
"He was also with her before the accident between you happened." He added before falling into deep thoughts.
"Didn't they get married and divorced?" Zach inquired, furrowing his brows while thinking.
"Yes, that's something more suspicious. They claimed they have been married, but Angie didn't update her status."
"All along, her status was still unmarried and even his name was not declared on the child's birth certificate, but was indicated as unknown instead. It also seemed Angie wasn't aware of it."
"There is a possibility that Angie's marriage was fake. She didn't get married or divorced, while the child's birth certificate might also be fake. Your daughter hasn't had a father since birth." Grandpa Rainford expressed his thoughts.
As they continue their discussion, Angie, who was left in the living room with Anna and had been talking about why she agreed to marry Zach, unexpectedly receives a phone call.
Seeing the caller's name, Angie's expression suddenly became very complicated. Before Anna could peek at who it was, she abruptly stood up and went to the balcony.
Of course, she sent a sharp glare at Anna who was planning to eavesdrop. Angie surveyed the surroundings before finally answering the call, yet she didn't speak right away.
"You shouldn't have married him." A man's cold and indifferent voice sounded on the other line, making her shocked by his words.
"What do you mean?" Her voice sounded cold while her eyes turned sharp as she made sure no one was eavesdropping.
"He would never let you go, which is why you aren't supposed to marry him." He insisted without any change in his voice.
"Have you always known he was the father of my child?!" Angie gritted her teeth while her eyes reddened, trying hard not to cry.
Her heart suddenly felt like being squeezed as she took a couple of deep breaths while waiting for an answer.
