Namjoon's POV
I headed downstairs after my run in with Zee. I had a feeling she was going to want to forget about last night but I wasn't going to let it happen. I don't know what this meant for us and I can't say I know what to call it but I knew that I didn't want it to end there. Last night proved that I felt more than attraction for her and I really wanted to explore these feelings. I hope she did as well.
I made my way to the kitchen to grab an Americano and then joined the others in the game room. When I walked into the room I noticed Jazz and Jin going head to head in a game of ping pong.
"Hey guys, who's winning?" I asked.
"I am," Jazz responded.
"That's because you're cheating," Jin accused.
"Honestly, how am I cheating Jin. I'm playing a fair game. You're just upset that a girl is beating yo," Jazz teased.
"Yeah, whatever. You're just getting lucky," Jin said, annoyed.
I joined the other spectators who were watching the game between the two. Hobi and Jake were laughing they're lungs out. Jin was moaning at every point that Jazz was getting. In all honesty it was fun to see Jin's butt getting kicked. Danny was busy with something on his laptop, not paying attention to the commotion around him.
"One more point and I'll win, Mr. Worldwide Handsome," Jazz teased.
And just like that, she won. Jazz did her victory dance, rubbing it in Jin's face. She then joined us by the seating area and took a sip of water. She had a big smile on her, obviously pleased with herself. Jin, who was not impressed with himself, joined us as well. He connected the PS4 and handed one of the consoles to Jazz.
"Rematch?" he asked her
"Are you sure, I just beat your ass in a game of ping pong?" Jazz asked him back.
"Well I'm going to redeem my winning streak by beating you electronically. How about we play FIFA?" He asked.
"No, you picked ping pong. I want to play Mortal Kombat," Jazz said, taking the console.
"Doesn't matter which game we play, I'm still going to win," Jin said confidently.
"Oh bring it on," Jazz challenged.
The rest of us were watching the drama unfold in front of us. I've always known Jin to be competitive but that didn't seem to scare Jazz off. They started the game and both players were in their own world forgetting the rest of us.
"Hey, where's Yoongi?" I asked, realising his absence.
"He went out for a walk," Hobi said in response, "He got bored watching these two battle it out."
"Okay, hopefully he will be back soon."
I heard footsteps heading towards the game room and initially, I thought it was Yoongi but it was Zee instead.
"Does anyone else feel like homemade pizza?" she asked, standing at the door.
"Oooh! Homemade pizza sounds good," Jake said, "Is it fine if I invite Jenna over?"
We all paused and looked at him. Shocked at the request he made.
"Uhm sure, no problem," Zee said, "But don't give us death stares when we start to tease you," she concluded.
Zee hardly glanced my way. I couldn't really blame her as I gave her a lot to think about. I figured it was best I give her some space and let her make the decision without any pressure from my side.
Zee's POV
I headed towards the kitchen to get supper started. I've been known to make a mean Hawaiian pizza, which was currently on the menu tonight along with a salad and chicken wings. Also, it was a good excuse to keep a distance from Namjoon. I couldn't stop thinking about what he said earlier.
"I'm attracted to you and I'm willing to explore whatever this is between us. That's if you want to as well."
That specific phrase was like a broken record in my mind. I couldn't stop thinking about it and every time I did, my stomach was filled with fluttering butterflies.
"Come on Zee, focus," I mumbled to myself.
"Focus on what?" someone asked.
"Eeeeeppp!!" I yelped.
I almost died of a heart attack. I thought I was the only one in the kitchen but I thought wrong. I turned around to see who the culprit was and it was none other than Yoongi.
"You have to stop doing that. One of these days, someone is going to end up in a hospital because of you," I moaned, with my hand against my chest.
"I'm sorry; I didn't mean to give you a fright. What do you need to focus on?" he asked.
"Well I'm making Hawaiian pizza with a salad and chicken wings for supper."
"Nice, would you like some help? I'm pretty good in the kitchen," he offered.
"Uhm, well I guess it won't hurt to have an extra hand," I said with a smile.
Before I started I took out a bottle of wine and poured myself a glass. I had a bad habit of drinking wine while cooking. I guess it always helped to keep my creative juices flowing. I offered some to Yoongi and he declined. Something about him preferring to drink while eating.
"So, I take it you were thinking about Namjoon," he said.
"Oh man!! Is it that obvious?" I asked.
"Yes, among the eight of us in this house, only Namjoon, myself and you know about your situation."
"And Jazz," I added.
"My bad, and Jazz as well. What's the problem now?" he asked while chopping the pineapple.
"I just don't know what I want. I'm not sure if I'm ready for a fling and I don't want to start something that will end badly," I said in defeat.
"It sounds to me like you're over thinking things. Sometimes life is about taking risks and dealing with the consequences later. Don't let the fear of failure ruin things for you," Yoongi advised.
I was kind of caught off guard by what he said. I never pictured him to be this insightful. I nodded at his words and continued to work on the dough.
It didn't take us long to prepare the food and within an hour the pizza and wings were in the oven and the salad in the fridge. Yoongi went upstairs to wash up while I stayed in the kitchen. Jazz soon walked into the kitchen full of smiles.
"Let me guess, you won," I said.
"But of course, I'm the boss when it comes to Mortal Kombat. Undefeated I tell you," she gloated.
"Poor Jin, you could have gone easy on him," I said.
"Nope, he had it coming."
"Meanie," I said while laughing, "Anywho, supper is almost ready. Do you know if Jenna is still coming?" I asked.
The doorbell rang about three seconds later and I heard Jake race to the door.
"Well, there's your answer," Jazz said.
Jake came into the kitchen with Jenna, who brought a bottle of wine with her. He reintroduced her to us, before they disappeared to the balcony.
"Do you think we can trust her?" Jazz asked.
"Maybe, but do a background check on her just in case. We can't take any chances with this competition," I instructed.
Jazz nodded and quickly made a call to Giovann. Giovann, Jazz's fiance and our program developer, was also a good private investigator. Thanks to him, the company survived many potential fraudsters and scammers. If anyone can dig up something on Jenna, it was him.
(Thirty minutes later)
We were all gathered around the table laughing and chatting. I had made sure to make enough pizza for everyone; in fact I made sure there was enough for everyone to get a second helping.
The vibe was great as always. While the rest of us were joking around, Jake was in his own world with Jenna. I noticed in the corner of my eye that Namjoon was constantly staring at me. I had to try really hard not to look his way because I wasn't sure what expression he had. He wasn't wrong, there was an attraction between us but I wasn't sure if I wanted to explore it. I kept trying to distract myself by chatting to Hobi or to Jin but I somehow found myself locking eyes with him.
I could see the same hunger in his eyes that he had last night and his smile made things even more complicated. I was super restless on my chair due to the sexual tension between us.
"I'm going to head to bed early," I announced. I just had to get out of the atmosphere created by Namjoon.
"Why so early, we were still going to play beer pong," Jazz protested.
"I'm really tired from last night and I was hoping to get to bed early," I told her.
"Okay, but it would have been nice to have you play with us," she said.
"I know, but I will play with you guys next time okay. I promise," I said before going upstairs.
I headed towards the shower in order to relax my body and hoped it would help to put me to sleep. The further away I was from Namjoon the better. I've never felt like this before, not even with Wayne.
"Oh man, what's wrong with me?" I asked myself in the mirror.
(Later on that evening)
I was tossing and turning like there was no tomorrow. I could hardly fall asleep. Every time I closed my eyes all I could see was Namjoon and images from last night. I don't know what was going on with me and it was driving me insane.
"That's it", I said out loud and hopped out of my bed.
Jazz was fast asleep and I made sure not to wake her up. I put on my slippers and marched out of my room heading for Namjoon's room. When I got there, I hesitated for a bit before knocking on his door. I mustered up some courage and knocked on the door. There was no response after my 1st attempt and I knocked again to no answer. "He's probably sleeping," I thought to myself. As I was about to leave, the door opened. And there he was standing opposite me with only his sweat pants on.
Oh boy, what now??
