Chapter 17 - Awkward Moments

Zee's POV

I spent the rest of the afternoon in my room after the disagreement I had with Namjoon. I understood where he was coming from but he really hurt my feelings by making it seem like I didn't care about his group as well. I had to somehow speak to Jake about his fling with Jenna and to ask him to rather hang out with her at the villa instead of going out with her. I just had to somehow think of a lie or something.

"It's going to be ok, Zee," Jazz said, touching my shoulder.

"How is it going to be ok?" I asked her in frustration, "How is it going to be ok, when half the crew wants to tell Jake?"

Jazz could see the frustration in my eyes and that I was on the brink of crying. She pulled me closer to her and embraced me. I needed nothing more than a hug at that moment and my tears started streaming down my face.

"Don't take what Namjoon said to heart. I don't think he meant to hurt your feelings," Jazz said, trying to comfort me.

"I know, but he made it sound like I was doing this for my benefit instead of everyone's," I sobbed.

"That's not true and you know it. He is just looking out for his group," she said.

I shook my head at her response and covered my face with my hands. The argument brought back painful memories of when Wayne and I would have disagreements similar to this one. I always had to fight for my point of view, which in the end led to a heartbreak. This just reignited the guilt, the heartache and the anxiety I had gone through after the break up.

"Listen, why don't you lay down for a bit and take a nap. It will help to calm you down," Jazz advised, laying me down on my bed.

I did as she instructed and covered myself with my blanket and just closed my eyes. I was hoping to wake up with a solution to our problem.

Namjoon's POV

I hadn't seen Zee for the rest of the afternoon. I really wanted to talk to her regarding this issue but Jazz and Danny advised me to leave her alone for a while. Danny and I had told the others about Jenna and so far only Jin agrees with me about telling Jake. Yoongi and Hobi felt it was not our place to say anything and thought it was best we monitored the situation instead. This whole matter was really frustrating to the core.

We were currently sitting outside by the pool having drinks, listening to Danny's story about the best McDonald's meal he's ever had. He had us in tears with how he explained in detail about his juicy burger and fresh chips. One could tell he was trying to keep our spirits up and make things less awkward. Which I was grateful for since Jake had returned from his date with Jenna.

We all battled to act normal around him and were all scared to say anything out of line. Luckily Jazz had sent him upstairs to speak to Zee as soon as he arrived.

"Lol, I'm sure you're over-exaggerating it now. You make it sound like your burger was perfectly prepared for you," Hobi said with tears in his eyes.

"I'm telling you, the chips were fresh and hot, the diet coke was super cold and extra fizzy and the burger…. Man, it was literally the juiciest I've ever had," Danny said with his eyes closed.

The rest of us were laughing at how ridiculous he sounded but yet intrigued by his story. Before we knew it, we all started sharing our experiences with McDonalds. Out of all the stories we shared, Danny maintained that his experience was the best.

"Who knew talking about food would be so entertaining?" Yoongi asked, laughing.

"I can hear you guys all the way from upstairs," Jake said, standing by the door.

We all went dead silent and awkwardly looked at each other.

"Well Danny, is busy telling us about his wonderful McDonalds meal," Jazz said with a chuckle.

"Not again, I swear you won't rest until the whole world hears your story," Jake teased.

"Hey listen, I can shout it out from the rooftops if I have to," Danny said with a smile.

Somehow the mood had become less awkward again and we started chatting and laughing again.

"Is Zee not going to come down?" Yoongi asked with a worried look.

"No, I tried to convince her to come down but she said she wanted to be alone," Jake said in response, "It's so weird though," Jake said in conclusion.

"What is?" Jazz asked, shifting in her chair.

"Her request regarding Jenna," he said.

We all went dead silent again and looked at each other. We had all wondered what Zee had said to him.

"What did she say," I asked.

"She said she preferred Jenna and me to hang out at the villa instead. She said she didn't trust her or her intentions," Jake said in conclusion.

"Well, I mean we are competing against her team and I'm sure Zee is only looking out for your safety," Jazz said.

"I know but the way she was saying it was weird. She made it seem like I was dating a psycho," Jake said out of the blue.

Hobi almost choked after hearing what Jake said, while the rest just looked at each other in shock. Luckily Jake didn't pick up on the awkward silence and just lay back on his chair.

My cell phone was the one to break the silence. It was a message from Jackson.

"Hey buddy, want to meet up for some drinks," read his message.

I wasn't really keen on going out but I figured it would be best to go out for an hour or two. Maybe he could help me out in terms of reaching out to Zee

"Sure, meet you at the bar in thirty minutes," I said in response and slipped my phone into my pocket.

I had let the others know I was on my way out to meet Jackson and headed straight for my room in order to get my jacket and wallet. I pondered for a while if I should check on Zee but I decided against it. I didn't want to upset her any further than I had already done.

I headed back downstairs, about to leave when I bumped into Jazz.

"Hey, do you mind if we talk before you go?" she asked.

I nodded and followed her to the patio, whilst wondering what she wanted to talk about. I hoped all was ok with Zee.
