Zee's POV
The meeting was off to a great start and it was headed by the CEO of Legit Corp. He welcomed us with a warm smile before getting to the specifics of the competition.
"The Legacy Showcase is not just your ordinary competition. It is a worldwide platform where new musicians are discovered", he said with confidence.
"Up until now, the showcase has promoted YouTube sensations in order to bring something new to the industry. With the help of graphic designers and marketing teams the show has proven to be successful. The competition has brought you groups such as, '2 Little Girls' and 'We Own You', two successful musical acts that managed to win the first two shows."
I had heard of both groups but I didn't realise that they had been discovered through the showcase. The girl group '2 Little Girls' won the 1st annual showcase followed by the boy group 'We Own You' winning the 2nd one. Both groups were a hit worldwide. I initially thought that they were discovered through YouTube but I guess I was wrong.
"This year, the Legacy Showcase will be a Celebrity Edition. We invited seven of the biggest groups in the world to go head to head showcasing their best music to the world. The winning group will be voted by the crowd through social media and they will be awarded $500 000 to donate to the charity of their choice," he announced.
By now I was taking notes of everything he was saying. He went on to explain that we as marketing teams were to help promote both the groups assigned to us as well as the Legacy Showcase. The show was to be hosted live in Kuala Lumpur in four months, whereby the viewers both locally and globally would vote for the best performance given.
"It is your job as marketing teams to promote the showcase, ticket sales as well as help prepare your assigned groups for the competition. It is your job to create hype for both your group and the competition. Make use of today's technology, make use of the internet and most importantly, have fun with it," he stated.
He also explained that each week, teams will be assigned small tasks to pitch to the show organisers and that the winning team will be awarded points that will count towards our votes for the finale.
I had some ideas coming into play but I was a little worried about how to put it all together. As exciting as this competition is, I also found it a little intimidating. Luckily, I had a great team with me and we have yet to shield away from a challenge.
The CEO also announced the winning team will also get a chance to pitch for a marketing contract with Legit Corp and with the label they're assigned groups are represented by.
"I wish you all the best of luck and hope to see some exciting content from you all", he said before dismissing us.
The meeting soon ended but I was in my own world trying to figure out how we were going to make this work in just four months. The others were excited and couldn't wait to throw ideas around. I was just as excited with ideas of my own but I couldn't help but feel nervous. Dynamics Ltd could really benefit from us winning the competition. Especially with a contract with Legit Corp and Big Hit Music up for grabs, this would put us on the map.
"Oh man! Now shit is getting real", I muttered to myself.
Namjoon's POV
I don't know what was happening but Zee and her team sounded like busy bees. They were literally buzzing with ideas during the ride back to the villa. The others and I looked at each other with confused expressions as we had no clue what they were saying among their excitement.
"Ok, pause!" Yoongi said loudly, interrupting the busy bees. "I get that everyone is excited but can't y'all wait until we are back at the villa?" he asked them.
"Lol, Sorry guys", Jazz said with an apologetic look, "We always tend to get a little carried away when it comes to doing projects".
"Jazz is right. We get all hyped up and we all want to share our ideas at the same time", Zee said.
I've never seen a group of people so full of excitement like these four. We soon made it back to the villa and I made my way to my room. I wanted to freshen up before lunch and get dressed into something more comfortable.
I took a quick shower and got dressed in a hoodie and comfortable pants. I was about to leave the room until a knock came from the door.
"Come in!!" I called out.
"Hey, you busy?" Yoongi asked closing the door behind him.
"No, what's up?" I asked in return.
"Well, I'm fine but I can tell something is bothering you," he stated.
"Is it that obvious?"
"Yep, so talk to me. Something is definitely bugging you and don't try to lie and say you're worried about the younger members", he said before I could even open my mouth.
"Ok, I kind of made a move on Zee", I blurted out.
"Wait, when you say you made a move on her, do you mean you.."
"Yes! I kissed her," I said before he could finish his question.
"Oh!"
I explained to him what exactly happened and how I couldn't help myself. There was something special about how she lit up when talking about her work and how passionate she was about her work.
"Ok, so do you have feelings for her or is it just a crush?" he asked.
"I don't know, but I can't stop thinking about her. She's so different from every girl I've met. Am I going crazy?" I asked him.
"Lol, you do realise you just met her right", he said while laughing.
"No hey", I responded sarcastically, "Come on man, be serious and advise me."
"Ok, ok I'm sorry. It's just that I've never seen you like this before. I never thought I would see RM, the leader of BTS, with an IQ of 148 be lovestruck ", he said laughing at me.
"Really Yoongi", I said feeling annoyed by him.
"Ok, jokes aside, have you told Zee how you feel or may be feeling?"
"In case you haven't noticed, she was avoiding me the whole morning", I said feeling defeated.
"My advice? Take it one step at a time. Try to befriend her and get to know her first. Don't pressure her or yourself into something that may end up in someone getting hurt," he said with caution in his voice.
Yoongi had a point. It is best that I try to be friends with her while I figure out these feelings. She may not even feel the same way.
