Chapter 8 - Jealousy

I found myself having my fifth cup of coffee. I'd been up since 3am and eventually I decided to rather do some research for the showcase. As much as I tried to stay focused, my mind kept wandering off. Tonight's event had me all worked up and stressed. I'd been to a lot of these events alone but now I'd be attending one with Namjoon.

I didn't understand why he offered to go with me. I already get tensed when I'm around him and now this.

"Why does he keep complicating things," I asked myself.

"Who is?" I heard a voice ask me from the kitchen door.

I looked up and saw that Yoongi was leaning against the kitchen door.

"Yoongi! How long have you been standing there?" I asked.

"Long enough to know that something is bugging you," he said.

He made his way to the fridge and took out a bottle of chilled Americano before joining me at the table.

"What's so special about that coffee," I muttered to myself.

"So, what's up?" he asked, sitting across from me.

"Nothing really, just thinking about tonight," I said in response.

"Oh! So you're worried about your date with Namjoon," he said.

"It's a work function, why do you keep calling it a date," I asked him getting a bit annoyed.

I just didn't understand why he kept calling it a date. It's not like he knew about what happened between Namjoon and myself. Unless...

"He told you!!!" I exclaimed, in shock of the revelation.

"Yep," he said laughing.

"Oh man!! Why would he do that? I told him to forget about the kiss."

"Why should he? It's not like either of you have anyone waiting for you back home. Unless, do you have a boyfriend?" he asked while drinking his coffee.

I shook my head in response. I've been single for the past 6 months and I couldn't find myself to move on as of yet. I kept hoping Wayne would come back to me. However, to my despair he had already started dating someone else. So the chances of us getting back together were zero to none.

"Look okay, there's a competition we all have to prepare for and the last thing I need is a distraction," I stated.

"That's just an excuse and you know it," Yoongi said moving closer, "Look, I don't know you that well but I do know RM. The last thing he'd do is string you along," he said in conclusion.

I looked at him, unsure of what to say next. I was dumbfounded that he was trying to convince me to have a summer fling with Namjoon. I just didn't know if I was ready to go down that road again.

Before I could say anything to Yoongi, my alarm went off. It was 8am and I had to get ready to go shopping with Jazz.

"Sorry Yoongi, I have to go," I said apologetically.

"No worries, but please think about what I said?" he asked, as I gathered my things.

I gave him a look and nodded with a smile before heading upstairs.

(3 hours later)

My alarm went off for the third time, reminding me that it was time to get up. I had taken a nap when Jazz and I returned from our shopping spree. She wanted to help me get a new dress for tonight and she wanted an outfit for her virtual date with Giovann.

As fun as the outing was, I couldn't wait to get back to the villa. The fact that I hardly slept caught up to me and I really wanted some shut eye before getting ready.

I could hear that everyone was downstairs as there was a lot of commotion coming from there. I willed myself out of bed and headed downstairs to join them.

The doorbell rang before I could even head towards the patio.

"I'll get it!!" I called out letting the others know.

I wondered who it could be as neither of us were expecting visitors. As soon as I opened the door I was taken aback by who was standing at the door.

I wasn't sure if my eyes were deceiving me or if I was dreaming but I was staring at this tall handsome man with dark hair. I was completely speechless as this gorgeous human being looked like a Greek god and had this sexy stare in his eyes.

"Hi, is RM in?" he asked in a deep sexy voice.

I planned to greet him back but I suddenly felt light headed and very dizzy. The world around me started spinning and suddenly everything went black....

(30 minutes later)

"Zee... Zee... Can you hear me?" a very faint voice asked. It sounded like Jazz.

I slowly opened my eyes and Jazz was sitting next to me on the couch, holding an ice pack on my head.

"Ow!!" I said, trying to sit up slowly. "What happened?" I asked her feeling groggy.

"You fainted," she said in response.

"Oh! Girl, I had the weirdest dream," I said, "I dreamt Jackson Wang was at the front door. How crazy is that?"

"Well.... It's crazy but it wasn't a dream," Jazz said, "He really is here and is currently outside with the guys."

"Wait, what!" I exclaimed, "You're telling me that Jackson Wang of GOT7 is really here?" I asked her in a panic.

Jazz nodded in response. She couldn't help but laugh at me because I was freaking out. Jackson Wang is one of the 7 members of the K-Pop boy group GOT7. Not only is the man my bias but also my biggest celebrity crush. In fact, everyone at work knows how obsessed I am with him and that he is the only man I will ever marry, given the chance that is.

"OMW, I fainted in front of Jackson Wang. Oh no, he probably thinks I'm a weirdo," I said pacing up and down the room.

"Lol, here we are worried about your health and you're worried about what he thinks of you," Jazz said laughing.

"You would also worry if you fainted in front of your idol."

"True, but I'm not as crazy as you," she teased.

I just stared at Jazz. Eventually, I sat back down next to her and covered my face in embarrassment.

"Look Zee, just take a deep breath and try to relax. It's not as bad as it seems," she said, "Take a moment to calm your nerves and come join us once you're ready."

I looked at Jazz and nodded. She soon left me to go join the others on the patio. I've always wanted to meet Jackson but I never planned on fainting at the sight of him.

"Come on Zee, if you can keep your composure around BTS, you can surely do it around Jackson Wang," I said to myself. I stood up and made my way to the patio.

Namjoon's POV

30 minutes! It's been 30 minutes since Zee fainted. I couldn't help but worry about her. I kept trying to figure out what could have caused her to faint.

"Hey Namjoon, what's up? You've been quiet since I arrived," Jackson asked.

"Nothing, just wondering what could have caused Zee to faint," I said in response.

"Do you want to go and check on her?" he asked with a worried look, "You won't relax until you do."

He was right; as much as I was keeping it together I really wanted to know if she was okay. Jazz was currently with her while the rest of us were chilling out by the patio having pizza and drinks.

I reluctantly nodded at Jackson's suggestion and decided it was best to go check on her. I didn't realise I cared this much about her until earlier. As I was about to get up from the table, Jazz had stepped out onto the patio. She met my gaze and gave me a reassuring smile.

"She's up and she's okay," she announced before breaking eye contact.

"Thank goodness!" Jake exclaimed, "Where is she now?" he asked, moving closer to Jazz.

"She's just taking a breather, she will join us soon," she responded before taking a bite of pizza.

"She probably fainted from all the stress and lack of sleep," Danny stated, "I keep telling her not to worry so much about things."

I didn't realise that Zee was going through a stressful time. She always seemed to be okay every time I saw her.

"It's who she is, Danny. And besides, I think she didn't eat much this morning before we left," Jazz mentioned.

"You see!! I'm sure it's because she is not having a proper breakfast. Who only eats an apple for breakfast?" Hobi asked sarcastically.

"Or maybe she fainted at the shock of Jackson," Yoongi said with a chuckle.

"Hey!!" Jackson exclaimed.

"Look man, I knew you had many talents but I never thought your good looks would make a girl faint," Yoongi teased.

"I doubt she fainted because of my looks," he said.

"Yoongi, stop teasing the man," Zee said as she walked towards the table.

I was relieved to see that she was okay. She seemed to be in a bubbly mood as she made her way towards Jackson.

"Hi, my name is Zee and sorry about earlier," she said introducing herself.

"Hello Zee, it is a pleasure to meet you. I am Jack-"

"Jackson Wang", she said, cutting him off.

"Lol, so you know who I am," he said laughing.

"Of course I do. You're Jackson Wang, one of the 7 members of GOT7, founder and CEO of the label 'Team Wang' and born in the year of the dog," she said full of excitement.

"Lol, did you research all of that before you joined us," he teased.

"Very funny but no. I make it a point to know all I need to know about my favourite idols," she said taking a seat next to Jazz. "So what brings you to Malaysia?" Zee asked him before having some pizza.

"We are actually here for the showcase as well, but as one of the guest performers," he replied.

I couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy. She hardly looked my way and was continuously chatting to Jackson. I excused myself and went into the kitchen to get some more drinks.

It was clear that she was excited to finally meet her idol but she was composing herself pretty well. I didn't know if I could watch her being so friendly with him without feeling jealous.

"Are you okay," a voice behind me asked.

I turned around and saw it was Jazz.

"Of course, why wouldn't I be," I said harshly.

Jazz moved towards me with an unimpressed look to my response.

"I'm sorry," I apologised, "I didn't mean to be rude."

"Apology accepted," she said, "So I take it you don't like what you see at the table," she concluded.

"Is it that obvious," I asked leaning against the counter.

"Yes it is and honestly, jealousy doesn't look good on you," she said.

"I'm not jealous," I said in defense, "I'm just annoyed."

"Okay, if that's what you call it," she said before making her way towards the door to go back to the patio.

"You know about the kiss don't you?" I asked her.

She stopped in her tracks and turned around to face me. She quickly moved towards me and pulled me further away from the door.

"Shhh, not so loud! Yes I do and I know she also told you to forget about it."

"I know okay, I tried but she is all I can think about," I said in frustration. "I didn't plan on kissing her, the moment was there and I know she felt it too."

Jazz looked at me before crossing her arms and leaning against the wall.

"How do you feel about her?" she asked with a straight face.

"I care about her, that much I do know."

"Okay, then you should know that Zee is not avoiding or ignoring you l. She just doesn't know how to look at you without being scared of her own feelings. Zee is passionate about her work and her biggest fear is disappointing those around her. More so, herself," Jazz said.

She went on to explain that Zee's intention is not to make anyone jealous, and that I was being silly by even feeling this way.

"She's just excited to finally meet her idol. Need I remind you she was just as excited when we first met you guys."

"Lol, true," I said with a smile.

"Be patient with her. Eventually she will give in," she said before going back to the others.

I couldn't help but feel better after my chat with her. I remembered that I was still going with her to the cocktail party. Hopefully, I'll be able to get her to open up a bit about herself. Like Jazz said, I just have to be patient with her.

I finally went back to join the others keeping in mind the advice Jazz gave me. Zee seemed to be enjoying Jackson's company. I sat there observing her silently. Her bubbly nature was really coming out. I couldn't help but smile at her.

"Ooh, look at the time," Jazz said, "Zee, you need to go get ready."

"Oh yes!! The cocktail party," she said sarcastically, "It was a pleasure to meet you Jackson but now duty calls."

"Pleasure is all mine. Hopefully I will run into you at the party," he said with a wink.

"Maybe you will," she responded with a smile before leaving.

The party was scheduled to start in 2 hours. I didn't understand why Zee went to get ready so soon.

"Wait for it," Jake said, "And in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...."

We heard little squeals and giggling coming from upstairs. We all looked at each other and just couldn't help but laugh at the two crazy girls.

(An hour and half later)

"Zee, come on we're going to be late!!" I called out.

"Calm your tits man, we will be down in 5 minutes," Jazz yelled back.

I didn't understand how it took her this long to get ready. I went upstairs to get ready after Jackson left and I was done within 30 minutes. I will never understand why women take so long to get ready.

"Relax RM, she will be down soon," Danny said.

I was pacing up and down the lounge as I was worried about the time.

"Okay, I'm ready. We can get going," Zee stated.

"WHOA!!!" I heard Jin and Yoongi say in unison.

I finally looked up and Zee was standing by the entrance. She looked absolutely breathtaking. She was wearing a short aqua blue dress which fitted her beautifully. I couldn't take my eyes off of her.

"Namjoon," she said, "I'm ready if you are."

"Ah, yes. Let's go," I said feeling a little embarrassed.

"At least escort her to the car, dude," Hobi said.

I made my way towards her, unsure if she would let me touch her. I noticed that she tensed up when I got close to her.

"My lady," I said sheepishly.

"Cheesy much," she said with a chuckle.

She hooked her arm to mine and we made our way towards the front door. She not only looked beautiful but smelled amazing. "How am I going to control myself," I said in a low voice.
