Chapter 1 - Suprised

The sky tonight is shrouded in overcast clouds, not a single star shows its luster. A breeze blew into one of the rooms in the eight-story building, a building owned by a well-known property company in Indonesia, Darma Corp.

The bone-white curtains that adorn the workspace of the beautiful woman seem to be swinging in the direction of the wind. Suci Indah Ayu's attention, the owner of the room, seemed distracted, her giddy feeling from earlier seemed like a sign from the universe to inform her of something that was about to happen.

Ayu, she is called a 24-year-old woman every day. The wife of Yudi Eka Setiawan and also the mother of Zaskia Azzahra Khumairah. Worked as a Personal Assistant for Thareq Akbar Satria for almost two years.

Yudi is not unable to support his wife, but whatever Yudi's wife wants, she will always be the first to make it happen. Ayu is not a child born from a family that has a lower economic class.

Suci Indah Ayu is the daughter of Galih Surya Atmadja and Kinanti Sekar Kinashi, a husband and wife who belong to the priyayi caste. By now Ayu should have accepted Galih's leadership relay, but she didn't. Ayu did not want to rush into doing this. Like a baby before she can walk, Ayu must be taught how to sit, crawl and stand.

Working at Darma Corp., Ayu uses it as a stepping stone so that at the right time she can lead Angkasa Group without having to embarrass her father.

KREK~~~

The dark brown door to the room opened without a knock. Ayu did not in the least shift her attention to the laptop screen she had been staring at.

Ayu knows and really recognizes who the figure is sticking out from behind the door of her room. He is Thareq Akbar Satria, Ayu's boss and best friend for 11 years. A friend who never leaves him even if he is at his lowest point.

"You, overtime?" Akbar asked as he threw his ass on the chair in front of Ayu's desk. Ayu only nodded her head in response to Akbar's question just now. The atmosphere is quiet again and this is the atmosphere that Ayu hates when she is with the people closest to her.

"You're hiding something, right from me?" Ayu guessed then looked at Akbar full of intimidation. Akbar gasped from his daydream, a man who was the same age as Ayu seemed to be thinking hard since when did Ayu have the ability to read people's minds like a psychic.

"No, really. I'm not hiding anything from you," said Akbar. 11 years of friendship is more than enough for Ayu and Akbar to get to know each other. Instead of trusting Ayu, he forced Akbar to be honest with him.

"Let's just talk about it, just finish your job first!" Akbar ordered while pointing at the pile of files in front of Ayu.

Inevitably, Ayu finally obeyed the orders given by the number two person in Darma Corp. Ayu's finger flicks that danced on the keyboard against the seconds of the big clock on the white wall just filled the silence tonight.

Akbar occasionally stole glances, just to see his best friend's face. What if the news that Akbar was about to convey actually broke his heart? An hour passed, and Ayu's work was finally finished. She moved her head and shoulders to the right and left to minimize the fatigue in her.

"I--" Ayu's words just hang when he gets interrupted by Akbar that he has to accompany his friend to dinner first. Having no other choice, Ayu finally agreed with Akbar.

Both Ayu and Akbar are experiencing anxiety, but these two friends are people who are good at hiding their feelings.

Ayu focused her gaze out the window, while Akbar's attention was entirely on the street in front of him. The quiet condition of the capital's streets made it easy for the two friends to reach their destination.

Half an hour passed and their eating activity was finally finished, "Hurry up, you tell me!" Ayu then gave Akbar a look full of intimidation.

Akbar seemed to take out a piece of paper from the pocket of the jacket that wrapped his burly body. Ayu looked doubtful when she received the letter Akbar handed her.

"You, just open it!" Now Akbar is back asking Ayu, the sad radiance that Ayu sees in Akbar's eyes makes him believe that something bad will happen soon.

DEG~~~

Ayu's eyes seemed to want to fall apart when she read the contents of the letter Akbar gave her. Her husband's name is beautifully written as the name of one of the parents of the two babies who will be diaqiqah tomorrow.

His life has been destroyed, the ark of his household with Yudi Eka Setiawan which they have been wading for 6 years has been destroyed.

The husband she thought was loyal had in fact shared her seed with another woman.

"This true?" Ayu's words hung again when Akbar moved his head from right to left. But this made Ayu's heart even more gloomy, because there was a glint of doubt that she caught from Akbar's eyes.

"He lied to me, Bar!" complained Ayu. The stream of clear water flowed down her smooth cheeks. There's not much Akbar can do other than hug Ayu tightly.
