Chapter 10 - Line Of Destiny

Agasa's door opened without a knock. Make the owner of the room pause work. His attention was completely on the woman in the maroon robe.

"What are you doing, Li?" Agasa asked Vilia Khaerani, Agasa's secretary. Vilia did not immediately answer the question from the owner of the Law Firm. He had to set the rhythm of his breathing first.

"Li, what's wrong? What happened to you?" Agasa jokes.

"Firman by accident, sir," the pen that had been in the hands of a well-known lawyer fell, just like that. His eyes were perfect, his heart was beating really fast.

"Don't talk nonsense, Vilia!" said Agasa. What made Agasa even more astonished when he realized the woman in front of him was a woman who upholds the truth.

Vilia again wanted to give a justification, but Agasa got up and took his coat which he slung over the back of his work chair.

"Where?" asked Agasa. Anxiety is clearly etched on the face of a lawyer with the title of senior partner.

"Hospital Bakti Husada…." Vilia's answer hangs because Agasa has left her.

"According to our investigation at the crime scene, the victim's accident was not intentional, but purely human error," explained the police officer.

"Human error?" Akbar repeated.

"How much do you believe if my friend's accident was caused by human error?" challenged Akbar.

"We are 100% sure, moreover this is reinforced by the doctor's diagnosis who said that your friend had GDM." The explanation from the police made Akbar even more confused.

"GDM is Major Depressive Disorder." The Psychiatrist began to take time to give Akbar a clearer explanation.

"Why?" asked Akbar briefly.

"It could be a traumatic experience, such as physical or sexual violence, the death of a loved one or even a divorce," replied the doctor who has the name tag Febry Adi Wansha on his doctor's report.

Akbar again recalled what Ayu said this morning, "Is the reason you experienced this trauma because again Yudi snatched your source of happiness?" Akbar thought.

"But it can heal, Doc?" asked Akbar while looking at Firman without blinking.

"We will try," the doctor and the policeman left Akbar after the conversation between the three had found its end.

Akbar's gaze shifted again when he found Ayu back, "I've taken care of the administration, he will soon be transferred to his treatment room." Ayu explained.

Akbar just nodded as a sign of understanding Ayu's explanation. The treatment room with VVIP facilities is Ayu's choice for Firman Afif, the man she once loved and admired secretly since he was dressed in white and gray.

Ayu and Akbar sat side by side on the sofa in Firman's inpatient room. Their eyes are straight ahead looking at Firman, waiting for him who knows when he will open his eyes.

"Bar, he won't leave us again, will he?" asked Ayu. With all her might Ayu no longer wanted to shed tears. The long awaited has returned but will the taste stay the same?

"He's back, now it's your job to defend him, you and Zaskia need him to be happy," said Akbar. Akbar put his arm around his best friend's shoulder, he knew that Ayu was in doubt.

He doubted whether he could get the Word back in their midst. Akbar and Ayu returned to each other in silence.

I don't know what they're thinking, only they know. Ayu's screams of happiness sounded loud in the white treatment room, "Bar, look at Firman's hand, he's moving, he's aware, Man." Akbar and Ayu got up from their seats, but their goals were different.

Akbar came out to call the doctor as if he had forgotten that this room was equipped with an emergency button and Ayu walked quickly to the gurney where Firman was lying. Word dimly blinked his eyes. The first sight he saw was the sweet smile of the woman he had left behind for four years.

"A-yu?" said Firman in a stammering tone.

But the doctor who was called by Akbar gave a pause to the two who might exchange longing for each other.

Five minutes passed now only the three of them were in this room. Togetherness they have never felt again for the last 4 years.

"Why am I here?" said Firman in an even tone. Firman's two eyes continued to stare at Ayu's thick net

"You're an accident," Akbar answered briefly. Things were getting colder between them, and there was no sign of a thaw soon.

"So you guys?" asked Firman again.

"Zaskia was in an accident and when the doctor finished treating her, you came in." Ayu spoke up. And the explanation from the mother of one child managed to make the two men their age surprised.

"You didn't tell me that your child was in an accident." Akbar shouted loudly. Ayu admits that she was wrong, she dissolves in euphoria because she has found a part of her life.

Firman seems to be clenching his fists tightly, not because Ayu has neglected her obligations, but whenever she feels cornered, Ayu always accepts her without rebuttal.

"Yu, your lips will bleed if you always bite them," said Firman.

"Zaskia are you okay?" asked Akbar. Ayu gave her head a shake and smiled sweetly on her luscious lips.

"Man," Ayu covers both of Firman's cheeks which are covered with bruises.

"You promise I won't leave again, okay?" Ayu asked Firman.

"My place is not here, Yu,"" said Firman firmly.

"No, Man, you stay here. Me and--"

"She doesn't belong to me, Yu," said Firman.

Akbar couldn't believe the young lawyer's words.

Akbar shook his head faintly.

"Man, no matter how many times you deny that he doesn't belong to you, you can't change the line of destiny," Ayu remained firm in her stance, as if she didn't care about the rejection that was given by Firman.

"Man ...."

"I want you to come out now," said Firman in a high tone.

"I will stay here, I don't want to be separated from you anymore. It's true what Akbar said, from now on I will maintain my feelings for you. I'm happy to be with you." Ayu explained fierily.

Akbar, who had been silent all this time, immediately stopped Firman's action, who was about to release his IV line, "Man, are you crazy?" Akbar snapped.

"If you don't want to go, I'll just go." The firm ultimatum Firman gave, Ayu looked at Akbar to help him defend himself.

Ayu's shoulders just slumped when Akbar actually sided with Firman, "You go home, Zaskia needs you more now." Akbar guides Ayu to get out of Firman's treatment room.

"You trust me, I won't let him disappear again." Akbar said while rubbing Ayu's back up and down.

And off Ayu, just relented because of the ultimatum that Firman had in mind a moment ago. With sobs Ayu left the biggest hospital in the capital.

BRAK~~~

Without Ayu thinking, there was a figure of a man the same age as Galih who bumped into her.

"When you walk, use your eyes." Ayu grumbled.

"Eh, everywhere you walk with your feet, not your eyes." The man corrected. Ayu, who is still in a state of desperation, ignores her opponent's words. Leaving the burly man without a word.

"That's weird, after being diagnosed with a serious illness, maybe." The man thought.
