His mating bond.
It was impossible but it would explain his recent behaviors. How much calmer he became just by the mere mention of her name, the way she completely tamed him around her, he knew he loved her more than anything in the world. He was really screwed now.
He loved Li Jing so did his wolf but it didn't choose her. That would explain why he just knew she would be reincarnated, Ying Yue was his and he couldn't bear the thought of her being with anyone else.
His emotions kept swirling, he wanted to keep her all to himself, that was all his wolf wanted but it also wanted what she wanted or what would make her happy. Ever since that night, it had truly cared for her and that was rare for an alpha whose wolf was unrestrained and dominant.
He immediately ran towards a secret room, it was beautiful and everything was lavishly designed, he walked towards a chest and opened it. He picked out a gold bracelet, with a light blue gem on it.
'It would match her eyes', he thought. He wanted to go up to wherever she was and tell her everything. An ounce of patience couldn't be found in his wolf who jumped around excitedly, it wanted to make her it's Luna.
Meanwhile, Ying Yue lay on her bed lost in thought. This was the perfect time for him to appear and explain everything to her, tell her she misunderstood and they would apologize to each other. But why wasn't he showing up...
She stared at her phone, it was already past 7pm. She had lain all day like a vegetable, Li Jing, the name rolled off her tongue perfectly. She could guess what kind of woman she was since she was addressed as Lady.
'A woman of grace and elegance, exactly what Lui Feng needs. I'm far from being the woman she probably was', this thought rang through her head over and over. No wonder everyone seemed obsessed with her, why did Lui Feng have to keep her around then? He should have just let her go after treating her wounds.
"Pursue my a**!" She exclaimed, it was like all her bottled-up emotions began to pour out. She knew she shouldn't have gotten used to being around him, It's not like she had a choice he always had to appear at the right moment. She didn't want him to leave too...
Knock! Knock! Knock!
'Lui Feng?' Her eyes gleamed at the thought but she decided to keep her cool, she didn't want him to think she had been waiting all day for him to show up, especially with You Yan around. She stood up and headed downstairs.
"Yu Yan, someone's at the door", she said walking down the stairs. There was no answer which was strange, she looked around and no one was home.
'When did she leave?' she thought, how could she be so lost in thought that she didn't notice her best friend leaving the house? She frowned and walked towards the door, she decided to peek through the door hole and saw the Grey-eyed man making her jump back but he opened the door easily.
"You're home, that's great", he said, smiling showing his perfect whites. His features were so feminine but his aura was masculine. He'd definitely be on par with Lui Taio if he was in the entertainment industry. Something was off, Why was he here? How did he open a locked door? He stared at her and as if reading her mind he finally broke the silence.
"Don't meet with Lui Feng tonight", he stated and it didn't sound like a request, he could sense a sudden flare in Lui Feng's energy and the string of their fates becoming more tangled. He never imagined Li Jing's reincarnation would actually be Lui Feng's true mate.
'The audacity! Not like she was planning to talk to him anyways' she thought angry at the reminder that they were in a fight. He didn't come see her all day, probably took her advice and went to see Li Jing. She stared at him fiercely, she was this close to knocking some sense into the man standing in front of her.
'He looks pretty young, I should be older than him by a year at least', she thought and the man chuckled as if reading her mind again. He walked towards her making her step back but she ended up cornered. She really needed to stop falling for this.
"I'm far older than you. I could prove it if you want", he said coyly playing with her hair, making her slap his hand away. She had to be cursed why was she surrounded by shameless men? She looked into his eyes which seemed so exotic, his eyes sparkled at their brief eye contact.
"No need and you don't need to tell me what to do. I'm not a kid I can take care of myself", she stated as a matter of factly and walked gingerly towards the door not taking her eyes off him. "Now, please leave", she said politely and he frowned but obeyed despite his obvious displeasure. She closed the door immediately after him and walked back to her room lying in her bed.
It was 8 pm now.
'Whatever', she said closing her eyes and falling asleep. At least no one could trouble her in her dreams.
"Ying Yue", the voice said repeatedly. It was unfair, why was she still being haunted by him even in her sleep? She got out of bed drowsily rubbing her eyes, she checked her phone it was past 11 pm, and she had slept for three hours. She walked towards the light switch and turned on the lights and noticed a figure standing in the corner smiling. Lui... Feng?
"Aaaahhh!" She screamed moving back and trying to grab a hairbrush from her desk to hold in order to keep him away but he was too late he was already next to her, hand over her mouth. At this rate, he should consider running for the Olympics.
He stared at her waiting for her to calm down. He didn't want the blonde's resolve to strengthen, he had barely managed to subdue him and he didn't want him breaking his barrier any time soon.
She finally calmed down, the anger in her eyes didn't dissipate though. She looked so beautiful in his eyes, they could run away from all this too but he didn't want her to live her life on the run. He was lost in thought but she looked too cute angry.
"Let's go see the moon at its peak. It's a full moon tonight", he said and the offer was tempting, but was he really going to ignore the situation at hand?
"Go with Li Jing", she replied, avoiding eye contact in order not to fall for his tricks, but she already felt much better by just the sight of him. He wanted to chuckle pinch her cheeks and tell her, he was going with her but the version that was a hundred times better.
"My past lover...?" He said and watched as her ears perked up, he smiled she might as well strike his heart with an arrow. "She died Ying Yue and I told you about her already, I really meant it when I said you're my present", he completed and she stared back at him feeling guilty at the realization.
'So that was Li Jing... I'm his present?', she thought so that was what he said, she had completely misunderstood him. She looked at him, she had cursed at him all day in anger but he looked at her as if he was the one in the wrong. Why the hell was he so good to her?
"We can go together if you want but let me change", she said nervously, focusing on the floor. She was wearing a 2000s kind of nightgown, it looked translucent but had an inner that matched, it flowed as she moved and best of all it was the color he loved seeing on her the most, blue. It was beautiful but not exactly what she'd wear to go sightseeing.
"What you're wearing is fine, let's go", he replied grabbing her hand, staring at her like she was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. She just woke up for Goodness sake! They walked towards the car when he suddenly came to a halt and she gave him a questioning look
"Oh and Ying Yue. Don't fall asleep on the drive, I won't have the heart to wake you up and we'll miss it", he stated and his brows furrowed as if he was really worried about it. She giggled and looked at him pouting.
"Okay I won't", she said raising her hand like she was making a pledge to him. He smiled and put her in the car driving off.
