The drive was pretty relaxing, she had completely forgotten about wearing shoes due to the rush but for some reason, he had sneakers that were her exact size in the car. She couldn't stop smiling at how cute he was, whoever described him as a tyrant in magazines had gotten it completely wrong.
A tyrant would never stop the car to get her late-night snacks with all the vanilla and chocolate she could imagine without a breath of complaint.
A tyrant couldn't be driving and smiling this broadly with one hand on the steering wheel and the other interlocked with hers, if her face wasn't beet red before it probably was now. The drive continued for a while and before she knew it, it was midnight. No one in their right mind would be out in such a deserted place at this time but to be fair she had always been slightly crazy more so when it came to Lui Feng.
They came to a halt and she immediately recognized the gate. It was the moonlight pool from before, she recalled that she hadn't completed the painting yet. This was perfect, seeing a full moon here would make the best inspiration for a masterpiece but it seemed Lui Feng had other plans as he opened the car door and took her out in the most gentlemanly manner.
They walked towards the gate which managed to make her nostalgic every time and Lui Feng opened it for her. Walking in she noticed her easel and canvas were still in the same position as if waiting for her, only the paint had been covered in order to prevent it from drying up. His attention to detail was mesmerizing.
They decided to sit in the garden near the pool, focusing on the moon reflected in it. It was only a matter of minutes before it was at its peak. They were both quiet none saying a word, the silence was killing both of them but they were at a loss for words. Ying Yue became so irritated by the silence she decided to focus on the snacks he bought her instead making Lui Feng burst out into laughter. This little action made the tension dissipate.
She was dumbfounded by his laughter, why did she love his laughter so much? Lui Feng stared at her, her mouth filled with sweets. She was really going to have a stomach ache tomorrow.
'What a foodie', he thought. He'd feed her until she was round if she wanted. She'd look cute either way, he smiled broadly at the thought of it. His wolf was calm and happy next to her, his heart was... Warm.
Ying Yue wondered what could make him smile so brightly, she stared at the moon which was almost at its peak, she looked into the water, and an image flashed in her eyes.
'An image of me? Why are my eyes... W- white!' she thought as she backed away frightened, Lui Feng noticing her sudden action moved closer to her trying to get her to tell him what was wrong but she had frozen in her spot.
"Ying... Ying Yue!" He exclaimed, the light in her eyes was gone as she remained unmoving. He became frightened, what the hell just happened? Why wasn't she responding all of a sudden? "Ying...?" he called out carefully. No response.
He immediately grabbed her in his arms this was a bad idea. He could've come tomorrow, he could've gone earlier, he kept finding ways to blame himself while his hands trembled around her. Then he felt her move a bit and he brought her face towards his, and she started to move. Slowly but surely.
"Feng...?" She said weakly, she completely blacked out there for a moment. She looked at him and saw how horrified he looked, he must've been worried... She cupped his face in her hands and smiled at him. "I'm fine" she assured him and he held her hand and examined her face just to be sure.
He didn't imagine such a fear could exist, were the gods playing with him and trying to kill him with a heart attack because if they were they got pretty damn close. His spur in emotions caused his previously calm wolf to be forced out of its state of tranquility. It seemed to be a lot more worried.
If anything had happened to it's mate. It's one and only gift from the gods, Lui Feng's hold on her began to tighten without him noticing. What if she had really gone, gone without knowing the truth, without them living the life he desperately hoped for?
"I'm really fine, I promise", said Ying Yue due to how worried and how tight his hold became on her. The moon was at its apex but he was completely distracted, wasn't that why they came here in the first place? "Lui Feng... The moon's at its apex" she exclaimed and he finally snapped out of it, he looked at it, it was beautiful. He wanted to test the odds, if he transformed he would tell her everything, if he didn't then the universe was telling him she still needed time and he had more time to spend with her. He waited a while staring at her but he didn't transform, his wolf was going crazy though. It refused to calm down from the previous panic.
Ying Yue wondered why he suddenly became so quiet like he was waiting for something. The atmosphere was calm and the moon was beautiful but most of his focus was on her.
"Is there something on my face?" She asked due to his obvious staring.
"Hmm, inexplicable beauty", he replied, his fingers running through her hair. He moved closer, studying her reactions her face was red but she didn't seem uncomfortable. Now this, this was temptation.
He moved closer their noses touching, he held her hand rubbing it in a soothing manner, if his wolf took over now, he'd lose control. He looked at her eyes, they were prettier in the moonlight, she closed her eyes slowly and that was all the assurance he needed. In the soft glow of the moonlight, their lips met.
He started off slowly and passionately, imprinting the feel of her lips in his mind, their tongues intertwined in a passionate and rhythmic dance but it began harder to maintain control by the second. His hazel eyes became slightly more golden with every passing second and he became rougher as his wolf began to take over. He was on the verge of losing control then he saw something, butterflies?
They danced around in the moonlight as if sent down by the gods to bless their ill-fated relationship, it was calming and beautiful. He broke the kiss and she looked at it in complete awe, butterflies had never appeared here. At least not ones as white as snow... Her face was beet red and she held his hand but refused to look at him. He refused to let her have her way though and wrapped his arms around her.
"I'll protect you, I won't lose you", those were the words he whispered into her ear like a silent prayer. She realized there was more to him than he showed, there was more to them. She snuggled in his arms, she wouldn't let him go either.
