The duo left the house and headed to the city to visit Hailey's old friends. Unfortunately for Jeremy, he didn't get what she meant by old friends. Hailey gave him directions on the location of these old friends of hers. Jeremy wondered who these friends of hers we're that she wanted him to meet. They got the front of a big gate which had a very large building in it. The gate keeper opened up for them and they drove in. Jeremy parked the car and they got down from it.
"So where are these old friends of yours?" he asked.
"They're inside. Follow me." she answered and led the way. Jeremy followed her but when they got to the entrance, he got distracted by the large poster just above the door.
"Retirement home." he read out loud and Hailey paused.
"Wait,, don't tell me there are a bunch of old people living in this block. Are they also your friends too?" he asked and she laughed.
"Well yes Jeremy. There are a bunch of old people living in this building and of course, they are my friends!" she answered.
What the f**k. This couldn't be happening. This girl was unbelievable! Jeremy quite shocked. He couldn't believe her friends were oldies. When she talked about seeing her friends, he thought they were lively youngsters just like them.
"She is really smart." He thought to himself. If she had told him earlier about where they were going, he wouldn't have agreed to it so she refrained from telling him about the place. She was really smart.
"Are we going in or should we just stand here and keep looking at the poster?" she asked. Jeremy let out a sigh. He had come this far with her and turning back was impossible. He had no other choice than to follow her.
"Fine." he said and they entered the building. There were lots of old people there men and women alike. The nurses were trying their best in taking good care of them. They got to a large dinning room. Some oldies we're having their lunch.
"Wait here for me Jeremy." she said to him and he gave her a satisfying smile. He leaned on the door while Hailey walked up to anurse who was attending to an old man.
"Hello nurse Kendra." she greeted. The lady in her mid thirties looked up to see who it was.
"Well, well, look who it is." she said and Hailey smiled.
"Hailey where have you been?" How are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm fine nurse Kendra." The two ladies hugged each other. Kendra returned to what she was doing while Hailey sat next to her.
"Where have you been Hailey? It's been awhile since we last saw you. It's over four months now!"
"Yeah, you're right. I would have visited but I was quite busy." she explained.
"Busy?"
"Yeah busy. I'm married now." she stated.
"Wow! So who's the lucky guy?" she asked.
"Wait for me. I'll be back." she said to her as she got up from her seat. She went to meet Jeremy who had nonchalantly sat near a group of old men. These men were really funny and they were making his time there quite interesting.
"What's your name young man?" an old man whose name was Senior Joe, a retired soldier asked him.
"My name's Jeremy sir." he answered. Just then, Hailey got to their table.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you guys but I'd like to steal Jeremy for awhile." she said to them.
"Who's this Jeremy?" Senior Joe asked.
"This is my wife Hailey." he answered.
"What a beautiful damsel you got there Jeremy." Mr Felix commented.
"Thank you sir." he replied. They released the young man to his wife. Hailey and Jeremy met nurse Kendra.
"Jeremy, this is Kendra. She is a nurse here and also my friend." she introduced.
"Nice to meet you Kendra. I'm Jeremy, Hailey's husband." he introduced himself to her.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Jeremy. Hailey you have such a handsome man with you." she teased.
"Thank you." she answered with a smile.
"Uhmm, where's Mama Josie?" She asked.
"Oh Mama Josie's upstairs in her room. The doctor's observing her." Kendra answered.
"I'd like to go see her. Thank you nurse Kendra." she said and turned to Jeremy.
"Come with me Jeremy. I'd like to introduce you to someone." she said to him.
"Fine." he answered. They walked out of the dinning room heading up the stairs.
