Chapter 9 - Deal

Hailey came out of the bathroom with her hair damp. She picked up the hair dryer to dry her hair. She dressed up in a blue dress. Two of the maids had came to clean up the room. One of them came up to her.

"Ma'am, Sir Jeremy requests for you to have breakfast with him. He is waiting for you at the garden outside" she said to her.

"Take me to the garden" Hailey ordered her.

She led her downstairs outside the house. The garden was a little bit far from the house. The garden was a beautiful sight to behold. The garden keeper did his best to maintain it. There were different flowers in the garden. Roses, Hibiscuses, Daisies and the likes. Hailey was mesmerized by the garden's look.

On reaching the garden, Hailey was led in by Butler Jace. He led her to the table and gave her a seat. Jeremy dismissed him.

"Thank you, you may leave now!". Jace gave a courtesy and left the duo.

Jeremy studied Hailey as the young girl looked around in admiration. "Do you like it?".

"Yes it's really beautiful! The garden keeper really did a nice job!".

"Nice. You can come here anytime you want but for now, let's have breakfast!". Jeremy got up from his seat and just like the night before, he served Hailey her meal.

"Why was he doing this? Did he really enjoy serving her?" she asked herself. After serving her, the young man served himself and settled down.

"Shall we?". He asked her and she nodded her head shyly. They ate in utmost silence. Jeremy watched Hailey as she ate her breakfast.

"Do you like it?" he asked her.

"Yes it's really nice!" she admitted.

Hailey enjoyed the meal. Jeremy finished up his food and waited for her to finish hers. When she was done, Jeremy stood up and stretched out his hand to her. "Let's have a walk in the garden. I have something to discuss with you".

Hailey stood up and followed him. They left the dining spot and walked deeper into the garden. Hailey admired the flowers. The fresh scent coming from them smelt so nice. For once Hailey was enjoying the taste of nature. They sat down at on a wooden chair in the garden far from the where they had eaten.

There was silence between the two until Hailey broke it with her question. "What did you want to talk about?". Jeremy cleared his throat and began.

"Hailey, you know none of us wanted this marriage to happen but we just succumbed to the selfish demands of our parents. All eyes are on us. I wouldn't want people poking their noses in my business. Let's make the world think we are doing well in the marriage. If possible, let's pretend. What do you say?".

"It's okay by me. If that's what you want.". She replied.

"Do we have a deal?".

"Yes!". A smirk appeared on his face.
