"Nice story!". Hailey said as she closed the book. She kept it back in its place. There were so many books and she couldn't get enough of them. Hailey spent the whole day reading books in the library. She had read up to ten books.
She looked at the wall clock and gasped. It was already 6pm. "So I've been here all day!". She was surprised. She got up and took the book which she was still reading with her. She left the library and headed upstairs to the bedroom.
She placed the book on the drawer beside the bed. Hailey went into the bathroom to have her bath. Jeremy was yet to return from work. Hailey enjoyed the warm bubble bath. Entering the bubble bath helped to relax her nerves. She could stay in it forever!
Hailey heard a knock on the door which abruptly brought her bath to an end. It couldn't be Jeremy. If it were him, he would have just entered the room. She got out of the bath tub, wrapped a towel on her body and came out of the bathroom.
"Who is it?" She asked.
"It's me ma'am". The voice replied. It was one of the maids.
"Do you need anything?". "No ma'am. I just came to tell you that dinner is ready!".
"Okay, please set the table. Is Sir Jeremy back from work?".
"No ma'am. He hasn't returned". She answered.
"Okay. Thank you, you may leave". The maid left.
Hailey got dressed in a pink pyjama. She dried her wet hair with the hair dryer. She picked up the book she had left on the drawer and went downstairs.
The dinning table was set. Too bad for her, she was eating alone this time. She served herself and sat down to eat while looking at the opposite chair were Jeremy sat the night before. Hailey felt kinda bad that he wasn't there to watch her eat and tease her. It was amazing how she had gotten used to him teasing her in less than two days. She finished her meal and called on a maid to clean up the table.
"Thank you for the meal". She said politey. The maid gave a courtesy. She got up from her seat and went to the living room. She laid on the smooth rug near the fireplace with a pillow to support her head.
She continued reading the book she brought with her. Thirty minutes later, she dozed off. She placed the book on her chest with her right hand crossing it. She had tried her best to wait for Jeremy but sleep had taken the better part of her.
An hour later, Jeremy returned. He entered the house and met Hailey fast asleep. He looked at the wall clock. It was ten minutes past 8. "What a lazy little damsel!". He said looking at her.
She was so fast asleep that she wasn't aware of his presence. Jeremy dropped his suitcase on the table. He sat down and stared at the damsel in front of him.
After a few minutes of staring at her, he carried her up and took her up the stairs to the bedroom. He put her in bed and covered her with the blanket. He kept the book she was reading beside her. He left the room and shut the door.
