Lisa was currently in the middle of her own interrogation. She was surrounded by holographic projections of leaders from each of the major factions. Representatives from Earth, Lunar, Martian, the asteroid mining guild, Jupiter Moons and finally the Kuiper belt factions were in attendance at the meeting.
They were currently using a device that Lisa had requested from Null. It took a substantial amount of bargaining and time for him to successfully create. The device allowed for an instantaneous conference call.
Null was allowed to access his ship and the workshop equipment that had been stored onboard. This enabled him the material required to build 10 instantaneous holographic communication devices. These devices were then shipped to each faction using fast unmanned drones. Once delivered they only had to input the 9 other locations into the device.
None of the representatives or their scientists understood how the devices worked but they believed in time they could work it out.
Each leader was wearing a robe and a mask to hide their identities as they were leaders of intelligence agencies it was prudent to remain anonymous. The Earth represented started the meeting.
"I'm sure we are all fascinated by these devices but I believe it's time we start. Colonel Lisa Jameson of the Martian Defence Dorce, you have now been with the child known as Null for a month. We are here today to receive your report. I'm sure everyone here has the same questions. Where did he come from? and is he a threat?"
"I believe he is an experiment from a highly advanced laboratory. He has likely been brainwashed to prevent any knowledge from leaking. We haven't been able to find any records of the child".
"Is he a threat? my answer is not intentionally but Null has the maturity of a teenager but at the same time has access to weapons of mass destruction. This situation makes me ponder what type of person his mentor is."
"We need to know more about this mentor. I think it is time we used some more forcible methods to extract information" stated the lunar representative.
The earth representative but his up stopping the others from speaking. "Remember the purpose of this gathering is get the known facts, the discussion on actions will be scheduled for later"
Lisa interjected. "I would strongly recommend against antagonising him. I don't believe we know the true limits of his abilities."
"So, have you been able to determine exactly what he is?" asked the representative from Earth.
"Null has allowed us to run multiple tests and scans but each of them shown that other than his brain he is a perfect specimen of an accelerated growth child. His brain on the other hand seems to suffer from multiple defects. For example, there is no connection between his brain and vocal cords so he will always be mute. I believe there is something extra that allows him to be functional." Answered Lisa.
The meeting carried on for a while, with each representative asking Lisa many questions. The final question was what was her recommendations on how they should handle the child.
"I believe we will get better results if we continue to gain his trust. I believe he is too valuable to alienate, just look at this technology we are using. It is years in advance of anything we could create. To this end, I believe we need to let him interact with children his age"
"We thank you for your answers and your time. Guards take the Colonel into custody" commanded the Martian representative.
"Huh?" Lisa was too shellshocked to say anything more verbose.
"We have received information that you and your son are sleeper operatives for this Angel organisation. You have both been sending information to a base in the Kuiper belt. You will both be detained until your court marshal"
Lisa and her son Chris were both taken to the orbital station brig. This is what Null had been waiting for. He had not spent the last month idle, with all his extra privileges he was able to hack into the station's internal systems and found that the brig has designed to be jettison in case of a riot which made it the perfect escape vehicle.
Once everything was in place a warning siren sounded all over the station along with an automated verbal warning. "Warning 15 minutes until critical system failure, please evacuate".
Null had calculated that the whole station could be evacuated in 9 minutes so 15 should give them plenty of time. He had set his ship to self-destruct and it couldn't be stopped. He also jetison the brig.
**Mission Complete. Reward: Penalty Removed**
"Yes!"
** New Spell Unlocked: Gate(I)**
He had unlocked the Gate spell when he was researching the QEC devices but hadn't been able to access it due to the penalty. Gate required understanding spatial coordinates and would allow the user to open a doorway between two locations.
"Dammit system, I could have used that a month ago! And I wouldn't have lost my ship"
Null had hoped that the evacuation would have brought him some time to escape but it seemed the Martians were keen to stop him and had sent multiple ships to attack the jettison brig. Null acted quickly and unlocked the doors to allow both Lisa and Chris out but to his surprise, he found a 3rd person in the brig. It was a teenage girl who wasn't on the manifest. She had been severely beaten and she was currently unconscious.
Null picked up the girl and met the other two. "Lisa, if you and Chris want to live you need to trust me. Please follow me." Null entered his fusion mode to gain access to energy so he could cast his newly unlocked spell Gate.
A small portal opened up in front of him and he walkthrough hoping the other two would follow
