I untied her as she remained silent, her swollen amber eyes never leaving my face.
Tired and feeling gross, I helped her up and simply stated, "You should go back home now."
"Hic…hic…"
She probably didn't know whether I was an enemy or friend until now, but once the word 'home' was said, a look of relief washed over her tense face and she broke down.
"Hic! I was so scared! They were going to sell me! Hic! I thought I was never going to see my family again! Hic! WAAAAAA"
It had felt like a good hour before the dragon girl was finally able to settle down. I didn't blame her; being forcibly kidnapped would cause trauma even for adults, even more so since she seemed to be only a bit older than I was.
As sat next to her, comforting her, I realized how bizarre of a scene this made. A teeneger tenderly patting the head of an dragon girl in the back of a carriage as four bloody corpses were being devoured by beasts just next to them.
"W-What happened to those bad guys?" she sniffled, her voice coming out a bit nasally.
I don't think telling a teen about killing was appropriate, I simply dismissed it by telling her, "Er… they ran into a very unfortunate accident."
She studied the hesitant expression on my face with the raise of a brow, only to look back down and whisper, "Serves them right." Looking closely at her now, I couldn't help but notice that she carried all of the necessary features that would allow her to blossom into quite the beauty later on in the future.
With long black hair and amber eyes that had slits similar to mine when I want sicko mode. She also orns with golden curves and sharp teeth which further increased her cuteness. The girl's disheveled state couldn't mask the innate beauty that she seemed to radiate from her pores.
Of course, this was me just observing her from speculatively as a gentlemen and man who enjoyed beauty in the world. I wouldn't go as far to say I was "checking her out". I had a wife.
I helped her up to her feet before speaking again.
"Those people that tried to kidnap you aren't going to chase you anymore. That being said, do you think you can make it to your home by yourself?"
"Well, as you can see from these bad boys..." she said while pointing at her horns. "I come from the Dragon Layer, a place where dragons resided, but its a hidden place that I can't show you, so I think this is where we part." the dragon girl said.
"Ok, but before you go, do you know an area of civilization near by other than the Dragon Layer?" I asked.
"Well, I frankly don't know how I got here, but as you probably know, all dragons have a spell they can conduct to teleport them to the Dragon Layer." she said as she smiled.
"So I have no idea where we are, hehe..."
So I wasted my time, fuck.
"Ok, you can go now." I shooed the girl away, I forgot one thing, I needed intelligent life which would actually tell me information, not a hot dragon girl who knew dog shit.
I started to walk away, but I felt a hand on my arm, I looked back to the girl who had a shy expression.
"Actually, I...
"I'm not going to ask for anything, no need to hand over your body, I'm underage anyway."
"Huh?"
Wait, was she not going to offer her body, cause I swear the amount of times I've seen this trope is insane.
Oh wait...
I'm not the protagonist, so the girls won't care about me.
"I was just asking if you could guard me?" she asked with a red blush on her face.
"Oh, well no." I replied, continuing my walk.
"Why?" she asked.
"I have nothing to gain, why would I help you again, I thought you had information, but you don't..." my eyes glowed deep red.
"You are of no use to me."
"W-Well, I can teleport you too the Dragon Layer too! That's the best I can do!" she said, almost crying.
"Oh! Ok! I can guard you then!" If I could teleport out of this forest, it would be amazing, I could at least come into contact with more intelligent life than her.
"But why do you need guarding, you are not traveling anywhere, you can teleport out of here, frankly, if you can teleport, then why didn't you do it in the carrege?" I asked, it was a pretty plain question, but her request seemed suspicious too, she was a fucking dragon, why would she need protection.
Instantly, her eyes retracted in fear as a panicked expression spread throughout the rest of her face. As tears welled up and both her hands clenched tightly to my shirt, even an infant would be able to tell what her answer was through her actions.
"Look, I need to get home too. Aren't dragons generally safe, even if those humans were dangerous, those were the only humans in sight, no more should come." I let out a sigh, trying to pry open her claws— I mean fingers— from my shirt.
She violently shook her head, much like a dog drying itself, and rebutted, "Beasts only scared of adult dragons…Parents warned me that children will get eaten by forest hounds or stone golems."
I would normally be pretty amazed about something like a stone golem, but it was becoming pretty hard to find something that surprised me after witnessing a green nerd swinging a sword like he had the power of god and anime on his side.
"The teleportation spell needs time to activate, so I need to be safe while it is happening."
I rubbed the bridge of my nose, trying to come up with a solution for all of this.
"How long does it take to finish the spell?"
"…"
Still holding onto my shabby shirt, she looked down and admitted, "… I don't know, I've never used it before."
I held in the temptation to let out another sigh, since the poor girl looked like she was about to cry already, and agreed to wait. I'm not good with toddlers, as they say I look like the devil whenever I get angry.
The Dragon Layer should have some sort of teleporters, so It should be no problem to gather information on the gang that stole my sister and parents and eventually rescue them.
"Start casting, I'll watch out for anything and let you know if anything changes." I said as I jumped up into the trees, sending sin energy into my eyes, looking out for anything.
Little did I know, my friend down there was a shit caster.
