I learned a lot about the dragon girl along the way. For one, her name was Gura Fruit. I was also shock when I learned that her last name was Fruit. She had just turned 14, which meant that she was about a year older than I was, albeit physiologically that is. I am not a pedo.
Gura was also a pretty reserved, if not shy, girl. She was very polite to me, considering that younger than she was, and never complained, making her a very agreeable companion. Perhaps, if we weren't going in different directions, I would have actually enjoyed having her with me.
For the spell to work, one must sit in a meditating position and channel mana into a string and send it to the area you want to go, once it connected, the person had to wait 10 seconds to gather what they can carry with them before they teleport. If its a person, they can just hold the person and they will be teleported with them. The person had to stay still the whole time, but the could talk and eat. The reason she wanted protection wad because she was vulnerable during this time, if she stopped at anytime, she would have to restart.
With the sun setting and the fog thickening I ate my goblin leg in peace, but I didn't know if dragons liked goblin legs, so I decided to feed her some fruits I found in bushes, I wasn't worried if they were poisonous because dragons were dragons.
"You don't have to do this." she said shyly.
"You need energy, eat up, I'm depending on you after all." I said while feeding her the fruit.
"…Thank you very much." She said while chewing the fruit bit by bit.
"You know, you don't have to be so polite to me. I am younger than you and I'd feel a lot more comfortable if you aren't so on edge." I replied, my cheeks full of goblin meat.
"O-okay, I'll try!" she let out a shy smile as she held back a chuckle.
I began wondering if she had been raised by very strict parents. Maybe it was simply an dragon custom and by telling her to be more comfortable with me, I was inadvertently asking to be friends, I didn't mind that. Giving her a shrug, I resumed stuffing my face with more food.
We sat underneath one of the roots of the tree next to our tent and continued chatting.
"C-can you tell me about the human kingdom?" She suddenly asked.
"What did you want to know?"
"What is a human city like? How are humans? Is it true that all male humans are perverts and have more than one wife?"
I choked on the goblin leg I was chewing on, spraying them out before they got caught in my lungs.
"No. Although it isn't against the law, only nobilities and the royal families tend to have multiple wives." I said after composing myself, wiping my mouth.
"I see now!"
Do you really, your eyes are shut.
I go on, explaining a bit about the world and my family, to pass the time before I asked as well.
"What is it like living in Dragon Layer?"
"Mmmm...." She pondered a bit before finding the words to explain.
"I don't think it's too different from what you told me about where you grew up, except there is no school, we are each assigned a tutor from birth and have them teach us how to unlock our mark the natural way, rather than your way of artificially awakening a mark, our kind believe in natural awakenings being stronger. I still don't have my mark."
"I see…" I mutter, pondering about the different education systems of the humans and dragon's. While the educational method of the dragon's were a lot more advanced and undiscriminating, it only worked because the Dragon Layer was much smaller and tight-knit compared to the human kingdom, but it just went to show how culture made such a big difference in the future generations.
Its been some time, we made some jokes and talked about what we are going to do in the future, I didn't include my revenge, but these simple talks made my days of loneliness go away and bought a newfound happiness to me.
After a couple of days, Gura could see the dragon layer.
"I see it! Now I just have to connect the thread!"
"Sounds good," I answered. As lovely as the journey had been, I needed to make my plans to somehow get home, and that wouldn't be possible until I got her home.
Although, I admit, I'd probably miss her after this.
"Akatsuki? You said your family and the people close to you called you Aka. I feel that, through this journey, I have gotten close enough to call you that as well. So… can I call you Aka as well?" Gura said with a red blush.
"Sure, I don't mind." I said with a smile, she was a close friend by now, after this, I hope I see her in the future.
"I'm there, hold on to me!" she yelled, not realizing what she had just said.
"Ok!" I hugged her, not in a weird way, fap off somewhere else.
"A-A-A-AHHHHHHHH!" she screamed in embarrassment while we teleported to the...
DRAGON LAYER!
