Chapter 28 - Unlocking Gluttony

Me and Gura were out in the forest, once again.

I swear if I see that Kaen guy once again, I'll show him what it means to be a husband.

Treating your guests by breaking their bones, what a warm welcome, filled with blood.

They kicked us out in no time! I felt like punching those healers in the face.

"What will we do now?" Gura said as she kicked a stone on the path, there really was no path, we were just walking in the forest.

"First, why didn't you ask where your parents were. The king of all dragons was infront of you." I asked, it truly was a wasted opportunity.

"Well, first off, its incredibly disrespectful to ask the dragon king a favor, I'm sure he would have listened if I asked him after I accepted, but I never planned to accept. You have given me a bigger power, which has given me bigger goals, finding my parents in just a step." she said with a smile.

"Well then!" I said standing up.

"Time for you to tame your new power!" I said with a smile.

"Narin told you the basics, now its time for you to apply them to your arsenal!" I said.

"Well, then, what should I eat?" Gura asked.

"I'm not your father, I'm your partner, I guide you, I don't tell you everything. What do you want to eat!" I asked.

"I'll eat... the ground!" Gura said as her mark started to glow orange, one circle on my back with a skeleton head also glowed orange.

Gura's jaw expanded and she took a big bite of the ground, chunks of earth started to fly everywhere.

[Gura has unlocked "Ground Manipulation: Earth"]

[Gura has unlocked "Grass Control"]

[Gura has unlocked "Stone Scales"]

Shards of stone grew on top of her arms and chest area, ripping her clothes.

"AHHHHHHH!" he squealed, covering her chest.

"Don't worry! I can't see anything." I said reassuring her.

"R-Really." she said, not even bothering to check her new powers.

"Yes! Now get up and test your new powers!" I said.

"Oh yeah," she said, changing her demeanor very quickly.

"Ground control seems very interesting, try manipulating the ground." I said.

Gura focused her mana, no, sin energy onto the ground and it started to change shape. It turned into a liquid, then into sharp shards, then into a solid wall.

"It a good skill, but there are limitations." she said.

"Firstly, I can't control it from a long distance, around 10 meters is the best I can do. I can change its forms into a liquid and then solid almost instantly." she said with a smile.

"Thats going to be a good crowd control move. Can you create a sand pit?" I asked.

"Let me try." she said as the ground under me softened, then I fell down, trapped in sand.

"N-Nice job, now get me back up." I said.

"O-Ok, sorry Aka." she said shyly.

"Don't worry, it was just a test." I said, dusting sand off my body.

"Now that you are of some use, we can finally make a plan to get back home." I said, I know it was harsh, but Gura should be proud of her changes, and she was, smiling like the sun.

"For now, the plan is to walk in one direction, get clues, and rediscover the human domain." I said as me and Gura took our steps into the never ending wilderness.

...

Timeskips

Oh how I love timeskips, they give the protagonist a huge powerboost, not in terms of ground breaking gear and blessing, but instead experience, pure experience...

Sad I didn't get any souls during my year, I didn't know souls were this rare!

And as a system holder, you know that experience is my best friend.

"Status." I said blankly

My body had become way more chiseled and my height grew a couple of inches. My hair also grew a bit more white, but it was too long and shabby.

"We have moved a long way, haven't we, Gura." I said as I glanced into the distance, barely seeing anything due to the glares of sunlight and my hair blocking my vision.

"Yes indeed." she said with a cute, but serious smile, Gura had matured a lot throughout the trip, she ate a lot of things and she could be said to be on the same level as me in terms of power.

What we saw in the distance was a huge city, inside bustling with life and happiness.

The Human Domain.

"Time to go back home."
