"And where do you think you are going?" Asher asked as he raised his left eyebrow at her, his arms were folded across his chest and his face revealed a blank expression, like he was bored as always.
"Home" Alicia blurted out without thinking and she saw the man smirk towards her.
"Home? you have no home girl, did you know where I picked you from? From the streets, what would've happened to you if I left you there?, I brought you here into my house expecting you to show your gratitude but now you are telling me you want to go home?" Asher scoffed at her as he rolled his eyes, this one had entered his trap and there was no going out for her, who does she think he is? that he can set her free after helping her? No no no that wasn't Asher's style at all.
Alicia gulped down her saliva as she stared back at the man, why was this man like this, he exuded so much overbearing aura, he was so intimidating that she could almost think he was the king of this land.
Asher frowned upon realizing that he couldn't read the girl's mind, he knew she was thinking about something but what. His frown deepened when he couldn't get into the girl's head, strange but he has never met anyone as strong as she was. Why would she keep him from infiltrating her head to check what's going on.
"So what do you want from me now? money? I'll work hard and pay you your money so please let me go" Alicia begged as she suddenly changed her position into kneeling down and cupping her hands in front of him, she blinked her eyelashes and pouted her lips at him.
"Silly, that's not gonna work on me" Asher muttered as he took two steps away from her.
Alicia looked down and cursed him inwardly, she wished she could stand up and punch his face and run out of the house but it's just impossible. She imagined herself standing up and going straight to him to punch his nose that had his head flying back, she then ran out of the house. 'Its easy right? let's do this' she told herself. But as she looked at him, all her plans vanished, there was no way she could hit this man's nose, it'll be death sentence.
Just as she was praying for someone to intervene, she heard footsteps coming closer to them, she looked up to see the man with glasses talking into the intimidating man's ear and the latter nodded.
After the short discussion, she saw that man with black suit face the man with glasses, "Make sure to serve her food, don't let her escape and if she tries behaving stubborn, make use of the chain in the yard" He said and the butler nodded affirmatively, he looked at her with a pleasant smile as if telling her that nothing would go wrong but Alicia knew that everything was already wrong from the start, just how the hell is she still staying here.
What! Chain? her?, there was no way they were going to chain her, was she a dog or an animal? Wahh, this man is too cruel.
"I'll be right back" Asher said to her as he turned around elegantly to leave the mansion, looking at his back, Alicia glared at him, "Who wants you to come back, please die in the place you are going to" something she dared not say in his presence, she could only say it when he wasn't around.

The duke's mansion
Asher walked majestically into the mansion with his cat placed on his left shoulder, he was greeted by the butler of the mansion who led him to the garden where the duke was patiently waiting for him.
The garden was very large and beautifully decorated with flowers of different ranges, there were shapes of animals in form of bushes which were neatly trimmed. And on the left was the gazebo where the duke was seated with his daughter next to him.
"Greetings Sir Zachary, you requested to see me?" Asher asked, the duke, Zachary nodded and gestured for him to seat in front of him and that is next to his daughter Isabel.
"No sir, I'm fine standing like this" Asher refused the man who made a face at him as if him sitting there would do good in his life, he rolled his eyes at the man and quietly took his seat beside the girl that was staring at him since he had arrived.
"That's good now, you both look lovely together" The man jokingly mused, Asher had his forehead creased while the girl next to him blushed profusely.
"I believe that wasn't the reason why I was sent here"
"Yes, calm down Mr Asher, let's not rush things"
"I prefer to rush things so go on with what you have to say to me"
"I heard that the plan you drafted on eradicating the witches in the eastern part of Gerume is successful but one thing keeps bothering me, the main reason we eradicate that land was not solely for the witches it's for a treasure that has been hidden there and I know you know about it, how come the treasure isn't found there?"
"Maybe your hunters are slacking off, why bother to ask me, I've cleared the road for you to carry out your ministrations on that land, it's not my fault that your treasure hunters are incompetent"
"Oswald!!!" The duke yelled at him in anger.
"It's Asher Oswald" Asher corrected with a smirk plastered on his lips.
"Don't let me find out that you are behind it, because if the witches get to lay their hand on that treasure you know what the world would become for our kind" The Duke threatened.
"And why would I support the enemies, don't be ridiculous Zachary even if I have a hand in it, you wouldn't know because it'll be cleared up and it'll leave no traces, that's how brilliant I am, and I do know more than you what the witches can do if they get their hands on that treasure, no need to remind me" Asher retorted back, the duke glared at him in anger and had to leave the gazebo because if he didn't leave there was a possibility that he would end up fighting with the general.
